Part one of my holiday, which you may have read about last week, was at the yoga retreat in Somerset. And I went straight from there to do an event at my place in Devon, see below. Followed by a trip to Wales. Had two nights in lollipop’s lovely Cabin. We went to the beach, shopping to buy the kiddies some clothes, and had some lovely mummy and daughter time. Phoebe age nearly 6 and Jasper age 2 1/2, were on top form, and really made me laugh. Little Jasper is coming on leaps and bounds. I am so looking forward to seeing all four grandchildren together again at my place in Devon, middle of August!
The tent they used was very innovative as well! Very different from the other ones for the beach, you know, the more flimsy ones. This one is like a work of art! Secured by sand or stones around the sides. This was where I hid when it was sunny, then I ventured out when it wasn’t. Fortunately it was a changeable day. But we had a lovely time and it was very relaxing in the breeze, listening to the sea, watching the kids play & occasionally playing with them. Very nice interlude in a very very busy month!
Ps your exclusive this week, newsletter subscribers, is what I experienced on the approach to their most beautiful cabin! (Subscribe below if you don’t already get my weekend newsletter in your inbox!)
SNIPPETS
Lovely Devon Saturday Do!
Check out this little montage with lots of photographs from the garden party in my place in Devon last weekend. It’s a thank you really for everybody who helped in the campaign. I went there after I departed Somerset, leaving the yoga retreat behind for another visit. I would say leaving it behind for another year, but I really think I will be back in the next few months! My body feels so much better and I managed to resist the bad foods at my garden party as well! We did a funny Mexican wave style thing as I videoed everyone as well, it was a flying visit as I was off to Wales immediately afterwards for two days!
Behind you!
Took this one on the night I came back from my week off and thought it was quite a good shot so thought I would mention it here! Can you see the two monitors? That’s what we look at when we are live, one is the current shot, the next one is the one they lining up so we can make our words match the pictures!
Guess who’s Back at QVC!!
Yes, our lovely Miceal! He’ll be coming back on Air gradually now he’s fully recovered and has returned to us. The team put up a massive welcome for him when he first walked through the doors after a year and a half away, chemo a distant memory, and back in the fold. Do look at his social media to find out what he’s up to. Luv that guy. We had a nice hug. So glad he’s back. Puts everything into context really doesn’t it.
Watch – ‘Kabler’s Robin’! So cute! If you haven’t been following already, check out Jack’s new feathered friend and the escapades that have led to these moments! (See it here).
Cinema – And at the cinema, treat yourself to ‘Fly Me To The Moon,’ set in 1969, with make-believe main characters around a real space mission to the moon, and what would’ve happened if the government had wanted a fake version to be on standby “just in case”? Johansson and Tatum have wonderful chemistry, and it’s a really funny movie as well. Loved it and will probably see it again! 8.75 out of 10!
Funny – omg, just omg! If you are of weak bladder beware when you watch this (here)! #instaFunny!
Vlog – not a vlog this week although I did plenty on my social media (follow me as below and you hopefully will be able to check them out when I post them every week!) But thought this was very clever. What would happen if you could embrace your younger self! (See it here).
Book of the Week – ‘The Ministry of Time,’ by Kaliane Bradley. Very interesting concept, rescuing people from the past on the brink of death, bring them forward in a time machine, how does it affect the future. With a love story playing through the centre and some interesting characters, and some absolutely brilliant turns of phrase.
I will definitely look out for more from Kaliane in the future!
