Super Somerset with my other half! And sneaky peeks!

Had another super week away in pretty Somerset. Howard organised a fab AirbBnB stay in a picturesque village called Dunster. We went to the castle there, and then spent 4 days visiting surrounding landmarks, beaches, walks and coffee shops! It was a super week and we got on famously – we are going from strength to strength – no mean feat when u are two stuck-in-your-ways 63 year olds (64 next month!) Those of you in later life romances will know what I mean! Some days I was giggling so much at what H said, I had tears in my eyes. We watched some good films at night too. Will tell more in my #fridaybantz (new time slot) tonight!

And here’s a quick montage of highlights! Enjoy, we did! See it here.

Bootiful Bluebells

It’s that time of year again! Not only did we get loads of walking done in Somerset this week, I’ll be doing lots when I get home to Banstead – look at this beautiful carpet of bluebells in Banstead Woods near my flat. So beautiful and such a lovely fragrance. I now find myself looking out for the Spanish invader (straighter) ones versus the English (droopier, more fragrant) ones, after being educated on our gardening hours as well!

Souper Soup!

OMG the soup I made this week in Somerset was amazing! If I do say so myself. The key is three stock cubes I think, but I made enough for four portions maybe five, and we had it the next day: it consisted of the remaining vegetables from our first night’s dinner incl chopped up chicken, mashed up rather than blended, no other fillers, no flour or potatoes. It was absolutely lovely! With a fresh loaf from the local deli. Heaven! And so healthy (comparatively speaking, anyway!) Making soup I normally do it with a blender, but this was more like a hearty broth. Howard loved it too! Yay.

Super Group!

At work, my latest Menopause Your Way show was Monday this week, and I had a brilliant group, we had a real laugh! See if you can watch it back if you can. It was great to have Fiona Summers on with her exercise stuff as well because there are some things you can do in your chair at home. And the Jude range of reinforced pants is fabulous (if it hasn’t sold out). But I did buy that Boditek Foot Massager and can’t wait to try it! I love these shows, I put about two hours of preparation into them, to make sure everybody knows what’s going on and planning what to say about each item. Hopefully it looks good on air!

Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is a focus on singing!!

This one features Duncan out of Blue! Talking about being invited to Elton John‘s house! I think you can see this on the QVC+ App as well. See it here.

Vlog – Rainy day at the castle!! See it here.

Book of the Week – Started a different author this week, One recommended by the lady in the Isle of Man, Sharon. JD Kirk and a book about a child serial killer (not my usual cup of tea but I’m going to persevere through this one as it is a series of over 20 stories which will make it easy for me to carry onto the next one and the next one and the next one! ‘A Litter of Bones’ is DCI Logan Book one, a Scottish crime thriller, with pretty good narration, so I will persevere!
