Yes, it snowed and yes we had it in Devon. One of the only times in eight years! I’ve been at my place in Sheepwash for eight years this month, can you believe it! And this week’s writing workshop guests stayed snuggled up warm inside when this happened!
They were here at least to have a workshop indoors and they got through lots of logs as the lounge was transformed into a magical hive of authory conversations, it had a real buzz this week, lovely to see!
PS if you want to come to my guest house to learn how to write there’s a lovely beginners course in April, already several enquiries for it, message me now and check it out on my website for the retreat, info@retreatsforyou.co.uk 🙂
SNIPPETS
Autumn weekends with the grandchildren
How lovely to see them skipping along in the park near them, with such enthusiasm! I had them for a whole weekend, while my son took his lovely wife away for a birthday treat. I’m not allowed to post any social photos obviously, but you get the drift. we did lots of stuff, lots of games, went to the park and all before the weather turned, thank goodness! Lovely. Making lots of memories. And a happy belated 40th birthday to my daughter-in-law Kari!
New team of officers
Had another big meeting of people in my association with pies this time! So nice to see everyone, this is the new shot for the website. I’m coming up for five years now having done one of these roles!
Full leather jacket!?
Actually it’s a faux leather but doesn’t it look lovely. It’s one of my favourites, and of course the colour of the season! It’s an older MarlaWynne. I only wore it for one hour because I needed to wear sparkly stuff!
Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is the funny that happened when I was out walking! (If you want to start getting this, all you need to do is sign up on the word newsletter at the bottom of this page!
Watch – I must admit I’m looking forward to ‘Wolf Hall, the mirror and the light’. I don’t even think I’ll watch the first one because I’ve not heard great things about it. And if I wait to watch the first one and don’t like it then I’ll never finish it and I’ll never get round to watching the second one. But being a big Mark Rylance fan, I’m very excited to watch it… When I get the time 🙂 BBC iPlayer I expect?
Meanwhile you gotta watch this, it’s really funny!
Funny – we’ve seen them haven’t we, through the years! #nativity x (See it here).
Vlog – out in the snow in Sheepwash this week! Enchanting 🙂 (See it here).
Book of the Week – In ‘The Little Village Christmas,’ Alexia has been tasked with turning her village’s neglected Victorian pub into a community café that everyone can use. And when the disaster strikes, help comes in the unlikely form of a man called Ben and his rescue owl. With a little sprinkling of Christmas magic it might just help to bring this village and their lives together again. I must admit after the snow this week I really fancied a Christmas story. Sue Moorcroft is a very successful author and someone I’ve known for years, but I’ve not read her Christmassy books before. This one’s off to a good start. Any recommendations for me?
