Sneaky stuff behind the scenes at QVC! And seven days ahead!

So funny! Last week Lorna, my lovely friend QVC and guest presenter, grabbed me, picked up two plastic cups and two forks and said come with me quick! She raised me into the studio and low and behold there were some dishes that had just been finished with, by the superb cook and ninja guest, Gail Samways! It was a fish risotto and we both tucked in sneakily at the side of the studio whilst Pippa was still on air behind us! LOL!

She was still in a cheeky mood when we launched the SFIXX BlackOut TSV that night. I do love working with these two, Tom was waving in the background! He was so interesting, and gave so many ideas for this amazing paint, I thought I would buy some of the light green one for my flower pots and benches in the garden! I’ll keep you informed!

Talking of buying things, my Periea shoe organisers came! Here is one of them, tidying up the console table in my hallway (which is also from QVC as are most of the shoes and the toiletries above it!

I had a great time putting away all my ornaments into the Christmas decoration containers, and I’m going to reduce some of the volume of the six pack of pillows that just arrived when I take them down to Devon next week. Goodness me I must stop buying! (Actually I found out that impulse buying to get dopamine from the process, especially if something is selling out so you get the urgency as well, is something very common in people with ADD! And on my ADD / ADHD discovery journey, I’m finding out so many things! I even do the T-Rex claw in bed! I’ve never heard of it before, but this is pretty much how I sleep, watch this (here)… I think I’ll do a feature every week from now on 🙂

Why do we do this? I’ve even woken up with my hand completely dead where I folded it over so much in bed, before now! Anyone know? No wonder I can never stop. Tells you a lot doesn’t it! I’m actually sitting here at 4 am, and I still haven’t done my accounts and the visit is in two days time. Classic signs. So if you are also neurodivergent, welcome to the club! An active brain can never switch off, or complete and utter lethargy… That’s my life! Lately I’ve got so many deadlines it’s been the former.

Suffice to say I’ve had a very very very busy week!

SNIPPETS

Lunch with Graham & Lucy

Had a super lunch last week with Lucy Piper my mate from work and my old friend Graham, at the law society restaurant where he works. I’ve known him for 44 years this summer! Incredible! We met when he contacted The Generation Game when he was producing a soundtrack for a speedway song, and I had been on the generation game! And we stayed in touch ever since! Always great to see him and he is one of the most knowledgeable people I’ve ever met in my whole life!

My Audible achievements 2024

Gosh I listened to a lot of books last year! Total listening time was over 580 hours! The top author was the lovely Elaine Everest with her Woolworths Girls and Butlins Girls, Pre, during and Post-war series (I listened to her books for 59 hours, (and therefore my most listened to narrator was her narrator, Annie Aldington who is very good), Nadine Dorries and her Four Streets post war series, for 42 hours, and Patricia Cornwell for 40 hours! (Well that will go up, see below!) I must say I do love an audiobook! Partly because it means I can do other stuff at the same time. There’s a theme forming here…!

My Mum Your Dad

One thing I don’t really do much of is bother about dating. Firstly, I’ve had enough of it. Secondly, I’m post menopause so I don’t care. And thirdly, check out this newspaper clip about the Davina program being cancelled because there aren’t enough eligible older men ha ha! Says it all :-). All my friends asked me this week, happens from time to time. And I said, “do you know what I wouldn’t mind, being sent some romantic stuff like Alison Young was at QVC and that’s how she ended up marrying her Simon, even though she actually knew him through her husband!“ But then I think about having to compromise and I think you know what I’ll just have a nice cup of tea and watch a box set!

Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is, as below, a little funny from QVC which I can’t publish here! LOL.

(Please note, if you don’t get it please let my email inbox know, as my IT guy is trying to sort it out – there’s been a problem with a couple of the Internet providers. Tell info@debbieflint. com).

Watch – Again, I’ve been loving The Traitors. Apparently it achieved more viewers than Strictly!

Definitely want to take a trip to the cinema soon – firstly to see Nicole Kidman in Babygirl – a turning-point-role for her, according to the copious amounts of newspaper coverage!

And I definitely want to see Angelina Jolie in the triumph (apparently), that is ‘Maria’, the Maria Callas life story. Something to look forward to!

And too much on catch up TV to mention!

Meanwhile if you want something quick and entertaining to watch, watch this (here)! So good and so funny! Imagine this was your boys at their school performance! Genius!

Science Bit

Who knew!! What the sun sounds like.

That probe got the closest ever to the sun, this week, and just look what it sent back! (See it here).

Funny – couple of things made me laugh this week, I’ve started saving them for you.

Firstly this, classic early Donny, and a rare occasion where Michael Jackson features at the start, at an award ceremony that didn’t go quite how they planned it, what do they say about never working with children and animals?! (See it here).

And one of the most genius, laugh-packed, quickfire skits ever, on Friends. Couldn’t resist including this one! Comic genius! (See it here).

But this week’s blooper has to be seen over on my newsletter it’s a bit risky for here! Hope you’ve signed up!

Vlog – Been trying to do more walks again! (See it here). Well I do have my medical/health check this week!

A.D.D. moments – I’ve got to start putting these in. Just a little something now I recognise how ADD I am (like ADHD but the activity is all inside your head!) This is so me; is it you?! LOL (See it here).

Book of the Week – I’ve gone back to Patricia Cornwell, and have been really enjoying book seven in the Kay Scarpetta series, it’s called “cause of death“. Pathologist Kay has a close call when mysterious and deadly going on hit close to home whilst she’s investigating an underwater death near an army camp. Really enjoying it!
