School Reunions & Wonderful Walks

Got back into the swing of things after our Swedish holiday this week in Sussex with a lovely walk or two along the usual route featuring a shady avenue of trees next to the fishing lakes near where my other half lives. Loved it!

Also had a super reunion – Morden Farm Middle School girls, and Howard! We decided to meet on Wednesday somewhere that was air-conditioned – and chose a café in Morden opposite the station. Howard told everybody about when he used to work in B&Q (now Lidl and Iceland), with one of our other pals Neil Develin, who we found recently via LinkedIn but he lives too far away to come to reunions, in Suffolk somewhere.

Denise, Howard, Sharon, Dawn, me and Laura (in that order) had a lovely time albeit cut short a bit this time because of parking! Our next one is in three months and hopefully it’ll be for longer!

Also met up for an evening chat outside the Green Man with Lisa, one of the Local ladies in the quiz team. We were comparing notes about our kids and how far away they live. My mum has just gone off to see Lauren in Wales and it’s not long now until the kids come down to me in August for our annual get together! That will be fun 🙂

Another lovely week though with some nice relaxing times with my man 😁. Too hot for me so most of them were indoors in air-conditioning ha ha!

A little footnote to the trip to Sweden last week – look at this lovely picture of my brother and his clan, we had such a lovely time. Did my #Fridaybantz live from there as well. (See below). Flew back on Saturday, straight into another heatwave! Hope you had a great week too despite the sun!

Man on the Bed!

Don’t know about men about the house, but this was man was on the Elemis show treatment bed the other day! Yes, Bernardo got the full treatment from lovely Keeley on TSV day. Hope you got it, it’s fabulous, I’ve been using the black cherry cleansing balm and I love it! So did Bernardo and his beard! Had lots of fun… See below

Kate Bush Day, Folkestone Harbour, 2026

Omg! Would love to do this one year! Will have to content myself in having done an impression of Kate Bush during my Larry Grayson interview on The Generation Game, Easter 1981! (Pic – it’s from a video I found on YouTube!) All the memories, my old late dad bless him.

Loved her music most of my life. So here’s a clip of this year’s Folkestone thing! See it here.

And here is Kate in 1979 in an interview following the success of her first album ‘kick inside’, one of my top five all-time favourites! See it here.

We were going to see a tribute group this summer, but hopefully we’ll have a chance to fit it in later in the year 🙂

Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is my daughter and Howard‘s granddaughter!

Watch – This week we’ve got back into the swing of our usual routine and watched Operation Finale (as recommended by brother Glenn last week.) About the capture of Adolph Eichmann in Argentina in the 60s, it was based on the true story and stars Ben Kingsley.  Very good. Plus we saw both The Substance (Demi Moore) and Disclosure Day (Emily blunt, Colin Firth) – both of which stretched your belief in the plot a bit but glad I saw both. But wouldn’t watch them again!

Blooper – with Bernardo on the Elemis bed last week you can imagine how well behaved Keeley had to be! But towards the end of my last hour with her, we did experience a little blooper – when she told him when he got home with his cleansing balm he could whip it out and put it to good use… hope you saw it, it was very funny! If I find the clip I’ll let you know!

Vlog – #fridaybantz from last Friday in Sweden!!  See it here.

Book of the Week – Well, I’m still ploughing through Jackie Kabler‘s book, ‘run for your life’, which I can imagine perfectly well as a TV drama! Lots of suspense, well done Jackie!

But I’ve also downloaded Rob Rinder’s “The Defence.” A wellness guru dies in a poisoned bath at his own launch event, and the barrister defending his assistant who gets accused, uncovers a long list of enemies… I enjoyed his first ones so looking forward to this one!

I have been trying their new firming serum and it’s really good. Goes on like a dream and makes you want to use it which, let’s face it, is half the battle. And if it’s anything like the other specialist treatments, over time it will really make a difference!

Next week – another solo trip to Devon as Howard is off on a motorbike tour of Belgium, well parts of it. Join me on Friday night too, don’t forget for my live Facebook Bantz, which will be probably from QVC! #fridaybantz

Have a great week!

Best wishes
