We did it! And raised over £2,300 in the process! Thank you everybody who supported my medical detection dogs buffet lunch event and auction on Tuesday in London! It was a smashing venue, and the food was copious, so lovely to see so many fab followers and Mdd supporters, and put names to faces as well.
There was a talk, with a very entertaining guy called Ian. Then a lovely partnership, Lauren and her beautiful black Labrador Mabel, described how she has had her life completely changed as a result of medical detection dogs helping to provide her with her own assistance dog who alerts her when she is going to have a PoTS episode (usually she would literally just fall over and she used to hurt herself and not be able to do anything on her own. Now she can even go on a plane on her own! With Mabel of course.)
Please go here to follow Medical Detection Dogs on Facebook and see some of their fabulous canine characters.
Patrick did his wonderful auction, and after it was over he took a dozen people on a walking tour of some of his favourite London spots nearby.

Thank you so much to Lorna, Marie Françoise, Gabrielle, & Tracy, as well, plus Tiff the Model, all QVC faces. And special thanks to the ladies who bid high, both on the day and on my WhatsApp group, to keep the funds coming into MDD during the auction as well. And everyone else who came or contributed. You made it very special.
If you would like to contribute here is the JustGiving link, thank you.
And to find out more about how you can sponsor a puppy (just £5 a month!), and other ways of getting involved like nominating and charity, naming a puppy et cetera, or even just buying a few things off their Amazon wish list, go to medicaldetectiondogs.org.uk, any little helps, honestly! Thank you in advance.

And it was delightful to see Ali Keenan there, always a grand support for MDD over the years. Remember she and I did a singalong once at a fundraising fayre when I first started supporting them 10 years ago, in talking! We had a lovely catch up after the event, just before I went back in to crack on with part two of my day – the evening supper event for something completely different!
SNIPPETS

And Lorna Came too…!
Straight after the Medical Detection Dogs event at lunchtime, it was on to The TrueBlue Patrons supper, with over 50% of the guests under 26 for the first time! Lorna stayed on and kept me company and helped out. It was exhausting that day, but very worthwhile and thanks to James Cleverly for coming along as speaker! Wonderful food as usual – I had two meals to take home at the end of it as well!

Payback Time
Downer at the end of the cruise week, had to go to the ship’s doctor to get antibiotics! Still struggling this week, apologies if you hear me coughing on air (again!). Not long now and I’ll be off to my week’s holiday in France, where I’ll have my own room and ensuite bathroom and enough time all day to do whatever the heck I want to! Even if that’s just sleep… Can’t wait!

‘See you Somewhere in the Aegean…’
In case you didn’t see it on my social media, look what happened at the end of last week’s cruise! Guess who I found on the nearby boat, the ship that moored near us on the morning we were due to disembark, in Corfu town. Yes, the person waving in red, just by the big life boat, was my mate & QVC freelance producer, Mark West!! Who’d have thought it! We knew we were both on Greek Island cruises, thought we were nowhere near each other, then suddenly on the last day his ship docks right next to mine! As I said, ‘of all the ships in all the ports, in all the islands…!’ What were the chances 🙂 . Connected on the unified field, that’s what we are, LOL.
Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is a really interesting series of videos that pop up on my social media every so often to do with the nether regions! LOL
Watch – ‘The Salt Path’ at the cinema. A must-watch for me at some stage soon hopefully. I love the idea of Gillian Anderson and the character she plays, a couple who lost everything walking the coastal path around the UK, a story of love and resilience, facing the elements but also discovering depths they never knew they had. Really lovely looking film!
Funny – this (here) sums up my downtime very often, damn ADD! Loved the bit about the capybara…! 😂
And the second one (here) for you that popped up while I was looking for the Vlog – you’ve just got to love Chandler in Friends, don’t you? He was a classic. We all miss Matthew Perry.
Vlog – here’s this week’s #Thursdaybantz, a first, live from my grandchildren‘s house! You can’t see much of the house but you’ll get the picture :-). ALERT – no Makeup! 😂 (See it here).
Book of the Week – Oooo so I’m gonna say something I don’t usually say. Don’t get Jackie Kabler’s book yet on audiobook. They are re-recording with a different narrator (thank God). It completely spoilt the enjoyment of the audiobook for me that the narrator is so inappropriate and just not up to scratch. But the story itself… Very promising! ‘The Revenge Plot’, her latest one, has got good reviews on Amazon for the other versions, but the narrator kills the audiobook version!
Secondly there’s another one of my favourites that’s just got a new book out, Simon Michael, who wrote the Charles Holborne (1960s barrister from the wrong side of the tracks) series of legal thrillers. Book 10 is now out and looks good – having moved on from the Krays, we get to the end of the swinging 60s in London and Charles once more gets himself involved with defending a tricky character in an awkward situation… Can’t wait to get my teeth into this one!
