Look at me Chard! Benefits of balconies in the sunshine! And sneaky peeks…

Goodness me my vegetables have shot up this week, with all the sunshine. The little trough my daughter bought me for my birthday, has quite a deep triangular shape so I think the plants like it a lot! Goodness, wasn’t it hot this week! I went to get the kids on Wednesday and Thursday, and on Wednesday I had to go shelter in Sainsbury’s – in the aircon! I just wasn’t built for heat! So we wandered around and they managed to get some nice little hoody towels for their upcoming holiday in Devon, 2 1/2 weeks and counting! (Both my kids and their families are coming down to my place in Devon for a change, they did it last year so I hope they make it an annual thing)! Both Blake and Kaleb seemed to think it’s amusing if they all had the same towels. So I got two more for the Welsh offspring as well.

Will be fun! X

Little Blake is losing her teeth now! So funny. She’s got one missing at the top and one at the bottom and the next ones are already partly through. Gosh how time flies :-).

Nb this weeks‘s exclusive on my newsletter (sign up on the word newsletter below), will give you a little look at the unusual sight outside the nursery when I picked Kaleb up this week! Bet you can’t guess what it is! Plus maybe you can tell me what’s eating one of my plants – see the pic on the email that comes into your inbox every weekend – if you sign up to my newsletter.

SNIPPETS

Afternoon aircon delights

Sheltered in a coffee shop for some of the heatwave as well, can always rely on a Costa or a Nero to keep you cool and warm you up at the same time :-). I honestly can’t bear being overheated. I actually get heat rash which has just started on my right arm.

Hydrocortisone time sadly, no doubt. I used to think it was an allergy to something but to be honest only ever happens if the temperature goes over 30. So annoying! Anyway the coffee was lovely :-). Also had my haircut this week, and a trip to the osteopath. I was fitting it all in, it was a lovely three days off in the middle of the week I must admit :-). (Although I did spend much of it helping to organise some hustings for the leadership for my area in Devon, of course I did)!

Keeley catch up

Last weekend was the big Elemis offer, I hope you got yours. I bought one for my lovely friend Christina for her 60th birthday, happy belated birthday, my friend! It was so nice to catch up with Keeley in the studio, we don’t see her often enough. She had a really long day but it was an amazing bargain and tens of thousands again, sold out in one day, well done if you’ve got your today special value offer!

Dress of the week – 408104, this beautiful pink number by monsoon, with pockets! Had so many compliments about it!

Watch – I love Steve Carell, in serious roles or funny ones he’s brilliant. He’s been in some of the funniest films I’ve seen, like God Almighty, 40-Year-Old Virgin and Anchorman. Here he is telling Jonathon Ross about his hip replacement! Just to give you a little giggle :-). Ps was yours like this?! (See it here).

Funny – Jackie and Dale shenanigans in the back garden! (See it here).

Another funny – this made me laugh! That’s me if there was one. Yes, if I was going to be a duck I would be this duck!! 🙂

Vlog – this week’s #Thursdaybantz update is on how I coped with the heat, you might not guess what it was! Plants, food, video games, and what’s coming up on QVC at the weekend. (See it here).

Book of the week – ‘The Woolworths Girls’ by Elaine Everest. I felt a little nostalgia, especially having seen the ads by my friend AJ Pearce for her fabulous book series, including ‘Yours Cheerfully’ out in paperback I think! Set in the second world war. So I decided to try this by another of my regular authors that I read, and I wasn’t disappointed. Following a small group of friends just before the advent of World War II, who work in woollies! Pretty good narration as well! Worth a try 🙂 I’m on to the second one now!
