Kaleb is fouur!! And sneaky Peeks!

My oldest grandson Kaleb was four this week and I met up with my son and his little family in Bishops Park on the other side of Putney Bridge, for a little afternoon get-together. Lolly and I bought the little lad a bike which I should’ve put together but I’m rubbish at stuff like that and having been away so much, didn’t get to do it. But his dad took it home in the box which Kaleb proudly helped his dad to carry into the car, hopefully he loved it!

We had a really smashing walk around the gardens on a really nice day. Plus a trip to the café, and some cuddles (the exclusive this week over on my newsletter is little Kaleb and the huge box! He was so excited! Sign up for the newsletter by pressing the word at the bottom of the screen on the blog and get some exclusive content in a short newsletter into your inbox every weekend.)

It was very soon after last week’s holiday in Devon, and I’ll see them again soon for a long time, But it’s always nice to see their smiling faces and have a quick catch up with Brad and Kari and of course lovely Blake!

Vlog here is a little Vlog from when we were walking round the gardens!

So, some more lovely family times, and there will be more of that in next week’s blog when I report on going to Sweden for a weekend city break to see my brother Glenn who lives there now!

It’s lollipop’s birthday soon as well, she will be 36! Oh my goodness! How time flies!

Of course it doesn’t help that my diary is so packed… But there are moves afoot…

SNIPPETS

Iain Dale event in Bideford, September 14.

As I’ve mentioned previously I’m moving away from my duties as a volunteer from my Association in Devon as I’ve done my time! Over the last five years in particular. Someone else’s turn soon. However if you are able to get to Bideford on Sunday, the 14th of September at lunchtime and you fancy a two hour buffet lunch with a good speaker, pictured, make sure you get in touch with me via my email on this website! Tell me soon as you can that you want to come! Please don’t be shy, it’s going to be a great event and I hope to be there too! Then I’ve only got an area event in November, for the Winter Dinner, and a big event in March, and I’m more or less done! Phew it’s been a long enjoyable journey and I’m now quite glad as I’ve become much more protective of my time now I have my gorgeous grandchildren!

Behind the scenes at the guest hub: model Emma’s got a twin!

Megan one of our wonderful floor managers looked the dead spit of Emma the model who was live on the TV behind her, during one of this week’s beauty shows with Alison – lookey likey, don’t you think!

This is where all the guests come when they check in, and we collect our microphones from here as well. Megan was standing underneath the monitor and it struck me how similar she is to our beautiful model Emma, both look fabulous even without make-up! (Yes you do Megan!)

Garden escape finale week

I was lucky enough to have yet another hour with gorgeous George from de Jager bulbs, as part of the garden escape final week of the season. Still some real bargains to be had online – do go and have a look! The team return in January. I know, it always whizzes by and before we know it, we will be saying ‘happy New Year, gardening starts again soon!’

Can’t believe it’s September next week! Hope you’re okay if you’ve survived the summer with the kids at home ha ha, and you’re now looking forward to going back to school. If you need a rest, don’t forget my retreats are always there available, depending on when! Some of my members of my Debbie‘s events WhatsApp group, and the new Debbie’s readers beta reading group, said how lovely it is to get away and be looked after for four nights. Don’t be nervous, come and see my place in Devon! (At time of writing I may have one place for Monday, the 1st of September for four nights but by the time you read this it might have gone, worth a try anyway, look at the Events page on retreatsforyou.co.uk).

Watch – Some Netflix time for me soon I hope, when I might get the chance to see Night Agent, season two – I loved season one! A guy caught up with double-crossing in the White House, goes on the run, … will definitely have a binge-watch on that.

Plus I love the look of Hostage with Suranne Jones. I think she’s such a good actress and chooses some really great roles (Dr Foster, Gentleman Jack, Vigil), looking forward to dipping into this new one too.

And having not seen it at the cinema I’m definitely going to be watching The Thursday Murder Club! Just need some time to myself (I’ve quite forgotten what that’s like but it’s in the offering, I’ve been promising myself!)

Blooper/Funny – Oh my gosh this had me laughing out loud this week! So funny! Especially the whisk one. See it here.

And this one (here) from our very own Alex Kramer! So funny bless her!

But I will leave you with this picture of me attempting to ride a bit of the ‘set’ during the Loccitane shift last week – I hope you got their special offer!

Book of the Week – Okay yes yes I’ve started another Anna Jarvis. Book 5, Silent Scream! The one before was also very good, a very long convoluted plot this time and features lots of development of her relationship – or not – with her boss.

I also just realised that I have to catch up on book 7 of the William Warwick novels by Jeffrey Archer, before I read the next one, so I downloaded that as well! Book Eight (of 8!) is out at the end of September so that will be fun! He’s such a good storyteller.

But…

The big news this week is obviously that the latest Robert Galbraith (Cormoran Strike) book is out! With one of the best narrators in Robert Glenister. I love these books so much. Can’t wait to read it. Released on Tuesday the second I think!
