Well another big family Christmas has been and gone. Since last week’s blog, I have had a big weekend with my kids and grandchildren, a day out with the Fulham pair plus my nieces, my brother‘s 50th birthday early party, and of course Christmas Day and Boxing Day! There are far too many pictures to post here but you can imagine what it’s been like! Here are just a few highlights, I hope yours went really well. And watch out next week for the annual end of the year review!
Lovely to spend time with my children as usual. Now the grandchildren are getting older they are getting louder and noisier and more gobby! The little girls played so well together tho – the majority of the time, then fell out on a grand scale for the rest of the time! The little boys were delightful, lost in their own little worlds, occasionally playing together. The girls did a performance in a onesie with a tutu in leopard print that I got in the sale mainly to wind up their mothers! But the girls loved them and who knew leopard print was so fashionable – both Lauren and Kari were wearing it this trip! I was quite amazed.
So what with that and burgundy being so in, I’m finally in fashion without even trying LOL.
Brad put on a splendid dinner, we had some lovely times, and then it was home again. Shame the kiddies were ill, poor little Jasper got very sick not long after, and was poorly for Christmas Day but hopefully on the mend by the time you read this. Obviously can’t post much in terms of photographs with the kiddies, but you can imagine we had a lovely time! I must admit I needed a massive rest afterwards though! LOL
On Christmas Day itself, Blake and Kaleb were entranced for quite awhile by the ballet on the telly, and Blake gave me her own performances! For a change they were the only little ones there on actual Christmas Day lunch, and I think they enjoyed all the attention, from such a big group especially.
My niece Steph and her hubby Alex, put on a great venue again for us all and dinner was spectacular. One of the best I think we’ve ever had. Well done to my brother-in-law Dave and my brother Glenn for helping out!
Hope you had a good one too.
SNIPPETS
Izzy Woods Walk
Had a smashing walk on Christmas morning with my niece Izzy, well it had to be done! At least it wasn’t too drizzly and wet. I’m intending to get a lot of walking done early January because I’ve got my fitness check/health check at the Nuffield on the 16th!
Mum’s Grandchildren
At my brother Glenn‘s 50th, on Sunday night, I took this photo of mum & almost all of the grandchildren! (Only one wasn’t there). The rest of them are in this picture. 15 in total! Maybe in the summer we will manage to hold an event for their offspring as well, and to finally get a group shot including the five children, who gave birth to all of these, their kids and maybe the great grandchildren – of which there are 21! Mum has 41 offspring! And counting, although nobody is expecting at the moment, six of the grandchildren have yet to have their own offspring! I have just six descendants – so mine have a long way to go to beat that! She looked so lovely and as usual no one could believe she is 81!
Brother Glenn’s Party
Similarly my brother is keeping himself in good nick! Glenn is 50 in January but lives in Sweden so we had his big 50th party last weekend, and he was well chuffed because a lot of his old friends came, whom he wasn’t expecting to see. Bless him. It was lovely to have a grown-up night out on Sunday tho, without the children, after having been with them for four whole days without a break!
Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content this week includes a description of a little blooper I nearly did on a hot on the heels of last week’s horrendous gaff! (By the way if you don’t get yours every weekend, make sure you check in your spam for something from Debbie flint.com, if you signed up long time ago 🙂 And find out the saying on the coaster Brad got me, that sums up my whole year! Check it out in your inbox every weekend once you’ve signed up).
Watch – where to begin! Well it has to be the Gavin and Stacey grand finale doesn’t it! It was outstanding and I loved watching it with my siblings and family, at the end of a very busy Christmas day! Highly recommended, I won’t give anything away, but if you’ve ever been a fan watch it. And if you’ve never been a fan watch it as well because it’s a pretty much stand alone story!
Funny – this one tickled me, I bet you can’t stop laughing out loud! (See it here).
And this funny wreath from my mentor Julie Cohen!
Vlog – it might be a sudden ending, but it’s definitely worth a watch because I do a little Christmas quiz. See if you can guess what the answers are in this week’s Thursday Boxing Day Bantz!! (See it here).
Book of the Week – Well I’m loving a new Christmassy one by a lady called Sarah Morgan. It’s multi layered in its sub plots and relationship challenges, as opposed to a standard run of the mill Christmas romance; am enjoying it very much. Long lost relatives Christy & Robyn reunite as a marriage falls apart, or does it? And a forgotten “night to remember“ gradually comes back to Alex… The Christmas Escape – set partly in Sweden! (slightly annoying male voices but apart from that it’s really enjoyable!)
QVC TOP DEALS FOR THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS
Also note there is a ‘Menopause Your Way’ theme running at 6 pm across the whole weekend (as well as on New Year’s Eve, the third, and with me on Monday the sixth!)
Friday (today) – sort out your posture and possibly help aching ankles, knees, hips et cetera – go to qvcuk.com and search ‘today’s special value’ to see and buy what’s left of the Vionic Agile Shay II wide orthotic trainer, one of the best times to get them if you want to stock up or if you’ve never tried this built-in orthotics brand. I swear by it!
Saturday – I’m off on the 27th and 28th but back on the 29th – I plan on going to the cinema! Saturday’s deal is the Homedics essentials back stretching mat! A different version and super affordable.
Sunday – I’m back at 10 and 11pm after a lovely long Christmas break, and the Sunday offer is the grumpy gardener Suet pellets, 12 kg bundle!
