Birthday week, firstly for me, but since we are going away on our cruise, my other half got to get his celebration as well! 64 isn’t majorly significant unless you’re Paul McCartney, (‘will you still need me, will you still feed me’ has been sung more than once this week!) Had several different celebrations, one which was the big one at my flat on the day itself, the 10th. Many of my family popped by for a little buffet lunch!

My lovely son Brad dropped by with the kids as well and Blake and Kaleb were particularly taken with Ralphie the spaniel, my niece Stephanie’s dog!

I got some wonderful presents including my Dyson travel hairdryer which I ideally packed to take on my cruise. And the foot massager I ordered during an MYW show a few weeks ago! And some high-powered walking boots from H, amongst other things. Plus some lovely flowers, aren’t they gorgeous?

And after I had my present and cake, my lovely family had bought one for Howard. He used to be part of a big family back in the day with lots of cousins, and thank God he’s used to it and commented how lovely it was to be part of a big group again. I’m so relieved because our family can be very overpowering!

He met brother Derek for the first time, who is a retired policeman. And they have a very similar sense of humour, since Howard was in the fire brigade for 30 years! Anyone with contacts in the services, you’ll know what I mean!
Amazed with brother Derek‘s transformation, too – see my newsletter for more info. Including a photo – find out how much he’s actually lost now!
It was a lovely and very significant celebration. Followed by embarking on the cruise ship on another significant first – the first foreign holiday that was just a holiday, with a significant other, since 2006! And my first cruise not with my mum but with a partner – so far it’s been absolutely amazing! Our first full day was at sea and we spent the day just literally relaxing and reading. I would not be on my phone all day either! LOL. It’s going well so far. More in next weeks blog…

SNIPPETS

Fab Fete Day Out
Lovely Faith, baby and Howard’s son James, came over to go to the village fete at the weekend as well, bit of a birthday celebration too. It was a lovely day out and we were lucky with the weather – it was really quite hot! Baby is getting very bonny and Howard is such a proud grandad, bless him. It really was an old school village fair including tug of war and the dog show. Well done to all concerned.

Girls on the MYW Couch
Another Monday, and another monthly ‘menopause your way’ couch full of super guests. Including lovely Lucinda, whom I’ve known since she was five and in the same class at school with my son Brad! So lovely to have a catch up. She’s just back after a break, now her baby is nine months old. See her products – inc the flatbed treadmill, and of course the whole range of MYW offers, on our website!

FAVOUR – Take a look at this. My place in Devon finally up for sale after nearly 10 years! I was amazed at how well it looks in some of the details I put in this very special write up on the website of this company that deal in business transfers.
FAVOUR! And if you know anyone you could pass on the information to, please feel free to send them the link and ask them if they could forward it to one of their contacts who may be considering a big move but still want to get an income every month! PS if you’ve never done anything like this before, please feel free to do so as a one off – as a favour for me!

Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is when Mum treated us to the Buddy Holly Story tickets and borrowed a Denim & Co jacket! Plus my brother Derek and how slim he’s got with the jabs.
Watch – Buddy Holly Story – on tour, but we saw it at the Crawley Theatre, called the Hawth.
What an amazing production this was, some of the best musicianship I’ve ever seen on stage, the lead actor playing Buddy Holly was absolutely incredible and obviously enjoyed himself even though he looked more like Keir Starmer than Buddy Holly! It was Mum‘s treat to me and Howard for our birthdays. So glad I went, catch it if you can.
Devil Wears Prada 2 at the cinema – well, along the lines of what I expected, but not completely as satisfying and groundbreaking as the first one, but then it wouldn’t be, would it, but as sequels go, it’s worth a watch. An interesting update given the slight tongue in cheek nod to our current woke world. Don’t expect more of the same – it’s quite a different kettle of Gucci-encrusted ornamental fish. But if you saw the first one and enjoyed it, I think you will like this! 8 out of 10.
Funny – Friends – H and I are rewatching the whole lot – saw this and found it fascinating! See it here.
Vlog – Finally made it to one of my major ambitions in my lifetime to go to the Acropolis and see the Parthenon! More in actually next weeks blog! See it here.
Book of the Week – Anthony Horowitz. Well, what a writer! Real life, I believe he wrote Foyle’s War. He is the author of the best selling children’s series about a kid detective called Alex Ryder. Plus the magpie murders trilogy. In 2017 he then started writing about a weird detective guy called Hawthorne and… Himself. Weaving fact with fiction, it’s a very interesting concept! I read The Word is Murder very quickly, and went onto The Sentence is Death, book 2. It’s a series of six so I’m sure I will romp through them!
