Debbie Flint

Guess what happened to me? And 7 days’ sneaky peeks!

Yes, it was freezing, yes I went out to grit the driveways and then realised that my mac was no longer waterproof! Very wet and very cold, when I got back in the lift to go up to the flat! But it was a good job well done as no sliding bits for people or cars the next morning, at our flats in Banstead! What’s it been like where you are? Very cold this week!

Ps the mac wasn’t a QVC one I hasten to add! I guess because it had been washed too much or on too high. Oh well. So I bought myself another one when I went out in Banstead this week!

Earlier that day, on one of my rare days off where I’m not gallivanting around, I went out gallivanting with Mum! We had a lovely time with Mum, more on my newsletter this week, including visiting a garden centre, but isn’t this a lovely picture! Nice to have a proper catch up because it had been awhile since we went out on our own.

The other thing I did this week was to finish the Christmas jigsaw (at least I managed it this year!), and put together the most unusual Christmas present I think I’ve ever received, the Lego orchid from lollipop! I actually quite enjoyed it. Thing is I look at it and it reminds me intensively of the TV series I was watching about special ops! We’ll have to decide if I keep it out or take it apart and do it again sometime! That’s the thing with jigsaws isn’t it! I’ve now bought one with 1980s sweet rappers on it LOL. Not sure if that’s a good idea, given I’m supposed to be on a health kick!

SNIPPETS

Be Nice!

I like the saying “if it’s a choice between being right and being kind, be kind.” Well this goes along those lines! Also this week we had our next board meeting for my flats, and lovely dedicated, hard-working Veena from Wildheart stood with me in front of this massive frame in their offices in Epsom! Don’t know what it’s for but I like the sentiment!

Menopause YW With Men

As it’s the first Monday of the month, I had my regular menopause your way slot, unusually with two male guests! Had lots of fun with the ladies on the couch though, and there weren’t any men sitting with us when we talked about the pelvic floor exercise that I’m holding! How unusual. Go and have a look on the video if you’re interested in this or have problems with incontinence, hopefully it’s still in stock! Look out for the first Monday of the month every month, when I should be presenting the shows!

Montage of Mates

So many – at least 46 – of our lovely fellow presenters and guests, contributed to my New Year’s Eve videos! I did a very long montage if you’d like to see all of the messages! Go here, here and here to see them. It meant a lot and made a big difference over the New Year to have all the little messages! It’ll be another 12 months before we see them again so enjoy!

ADHD update

This is interesting. Specially if you’re in the menopause. (See it here).

Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend – tap ‘newsletter’ at bottom of page), the exclusive content is a very cheeky graphic joke!

Watch – Oh my goodness I’ve loved watching ‘Black Doves’ this week! (Netflix) Features some of my favourite actors including Ben Whishaw & Sarah Lancashire. Keira Knightley is good. That guy out of Broadchurch was good. And even Tracy Ullman makes an appearance! Really, really highly recommended!

Special Ops: Lioness – don’t know, maybe Paramount? But another miniseries that’s really, really good again! Zoe Saldana (Avatar) plays a hard nosed trainer of marines, who all go on special ops including to the Middle East involving subterfuge and a plot to stop massive terrorist organisations. But it’s more about the characters involved, her family, and the relationships formed. Very, very good!

And of course The Traitors is back! What more could you want for 2025!

Filmfest

I also had a film fest! I saw both a weepie, and ‘Better Man’ by Robbie Williams. It’s his life story but with a CGI chimp playing him, with his eyes and his voice. Really enjoyed it, despite not understanding the concept initially as I thought it would be a gimmick! And much better than I thought it would be – reminds you how great of a songwriter Robbie is. Great stuff.

Then I saw ‘We Live in Time’, with another one of my favourites, Florence Pugh, who was also outstanding. Absolutely outstanding. Very tastefully done, albeit a heart-string puller. Both films highly recommended, 8.75 and 8.5 out of 10 – I would see both again. A great start to 2025 cinema schedule!

Funny – saw this online (here) and thought I’d share, given the time of year! (By the way Bruce from Body Blade will be back in February, talking of keep fit! Yay!)

Vlog – out walking again regularly for obvious reasons – my health check next week amongst others :-). So I did this one (here) for everybody 🙂

Also scroll down when you’re there and check out this week’s Thursday Bantz, it was a really good one!

Press ‘follow’ on my social media to be able to watch these regularly 🙂

Book of the Week – Something a bit different! On podcasts, not audible – Hugh Bonneville reading Sherlock Holmes short stories! The thing that really makes it good is his voices. It’s free as well. Short and easy to listen to, entertaining and makes you think, trying to solve the mysteries that Sherlock will inevitably crack. Highly recommended! Good way to kick off the New Year, I challenge you to go and listen to a few. Just search “Hugh Bonneville Sherlock Holmes short stories podcast!”
