Greek Islands Cruise! And sneaky peeks…

Well, this has been a long time coming!! Went off around the Greek islands with mum and sis, a belated treat from mum for her 80th birthday, and mine and my sister’s 60th for a couple of years ago. Went with Tui on Marella Explorer. Fab week!

(Nb I tried to do several updates but had really, really expensive Wi-Fi on the ship, spent over £200 on it! Just to warn you upfront! But what I did do, when we had free Wi-Fi while on shore, is in the following…)

We flew from Gatwick to Corfu and soon settled into our three birth cabin.  Watch the vlog here.

First, after a day at sea, we went to Santorini (not Sardinia as I said in one of the posts LOL), up the little Thira cable car to the top, very busy and touristy and some lovely sights from up high and we stopped to have a drink next to a bar with a view. (See it here).

Then next day, it was Rhodes, my favourite of the whole trip! So lovely and green and shaded and a bit more breezy. I had a couple of hours in Rhodes Town on my own, because the girls went off on a coach day trip to the beach, and I just strolled around – inc the archaeological museum; found myself a very cool shaded spot in the café and had a coffee for a couple of hours in a delightful breeze, soaking up the history, and sorting out lots of stuff.

My ideal relaxation! And then another lovely evening on the ship.

See vlog here.

After that it was Mykonos where mum and I went a few years ago. Very, very hot and busy, couldn’t really stop, just for a drink on the front as it was too packed, so we just wandered around a bit, she bought a pair of beach shoes and we went and had an afternoon on the ship! The next day I said I would go with them to Crete to a beach near Heraklion, not far from Gouves where we went as a family holiday in 1997. They had a lovely day in the sea and on the beach under the umbrellas, and I stayed in the cool under the café Veranda getting some free Wi-Fi and getting some stuff done. It was nice to be out with them. It’s always hard for me because of my skin issues (I have EPP, I’ve written about it previously – it means I can’t stay in the sun).  See vlog here.

At time of writing, we have Catacolon in Greece nr Olympia, to go.

If I can squeeze in another video before we leave the ship then I will, check out my socials- if not, more next week!

A super holiday, and am grateful for my Ultrasun, Gatineau tan accelerator and Golden Glow!!

Back on QVC Fri night – and another busy weekend ahead. And a busy week! No rest for the wicked….

Thank you in advance and thank you to Radica who has already bid to come on the afternoon tea with myself and Lorna Ko, date to be arranged. A second place is available on the day too. You never know, we might be able to persuade mum to come along as well, which somebody requested! Made me smile 🙂

Map of our route

We saw some spectacular sunsets but from different sides of the ship, and looking at this route you can see why! A bit circuitous, but we ended up where we started and flew home on Friday morning! I’m due back on QVC Friday evening and the weekend!

Nelly the Towel Elephant!

And a seal, a dog, a hedgehog and more! Love these little touches on a cruise, don’t you? Had some fab entertainment too and some amazing meals in the restaurants. Lovely spa and gym area – which I used a lot too!

A sneaky look at some of the big offers coming up soon – From SBC, Liz Earle, and Margaret Dabbs, look out for them!

Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is the short tunic/dress I bought myself in Santorini. Showing a bit more leg than usual!!

Watch – #Thursdaybantz vlog, from somewhere in the Greek islands on a cruise! (See it here).

Funny – my fellow presenters were sharing this old clip this week, a real funny one from back in the day when QVC was quite new, and French and Saunders had their own sketch show on the telly box. ‘Eek – ique’!! See it here.

Funny 2 – Here’s a little funny moment from our cruise ship, Greek islands, Marella Explorer: this was their idea of speciality breads last night! Mum was not impressed, my sister and I could not stop laughing 🙂

Vlog – there’s a selection on my socials this week from different parts of the ship and shore!

Book of the Week – Finished the DS Jack Warr series from Lynda la Plante and ‘Crucified’  was riveting. Listened in the gym AND the pool! Wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes a tv series. And went back to Scarpetta (mainly because of download wi-fi issues!!). But Jackie Kabler’s new one is out this week, so that’s next on my list!
