Glowing Glowing Gone

From sunsets to World Cup hopes, this week has been an interesting one. The heatwave continued and with it, my heat rash has come back on my arms with a vengeance. Back to the high dose hydrocortisone sadly, if you have any recommendations let me know!

Yes, I struggle a bit in the sunshine but after awhile you get used to it, don’t you. It’s been a proper heatwave this year, and I’ve been thanking God for air-conditioning in my car and at work! Thankfully my house in Devon (still up for sale, see below!) remains cool, but my flat in Surrey is the opposite! Had some really nice outings with Howard in the nice weather though, although I have to admit sometimes going to the supermarket and being cool for an hour, it’s just as nice as sitting outside the pub when it’s sunny LOL!

But we had a lovely walk through the woods near me past the Narnia Trail (see top picture), and another wonderful one down by the lakes, in Sussex. It was beautiful, in the shade of the trees mostly, and on days like that the heat doesn’t seem so bad. Plus the water lilies have come out in abundance – pretty!

It was nice to relax when we got back from Devon, once I had done my Sunday through Wednesday, the first part of my long week at work. Made a bit harder by being up against the football (but at least that’s all over now – one little upside of going out after the semifinals!)

The long weeks at work are always tough, but I was grateful every day, I must say, for being in the air-conditioning at the studios! Hope you weren’t too hot where you were. (I seem to be saying that every week now don’t I, and it’s set to continue for awhile yet!)

SNIPPETS

Cutie Fox

Our WhatsApp group at my flat in Surrey I’ve been posting some lovely wildlife pictures including more of the two baby deer, but this one caught my eye this week, bless the little Fox, came to get some water from the little fountain that one of the residents keeps topped up. They live mostly in Banstead Woods so could go and access the big pond there I’m sure, but how sweet is this photo!

Super Sunsets

There’ve been quite a few this week, haven’t there! This one was particularly pleasing on Thursday night, and it’s Howard‘s view from the front of his house! Across fields. Nothing like a lovely view! This weather is supposed to continue for at least another week although next week in Sweden it’s going to be in the early 20s – I must say I’m looking forward to it!

A Virtual Tour

A lot of people are doing those jazzy videos of someone going round their house, Omaze-style, but last week I got the next best thing done in Devon. It’s not got any nibbles yet but my place is up for sale as a business initially, so I got a virtual tour done, it’s very clever! See it on this week’s newsletter if you already subscribe.

It’s this week’s Exclusive – (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend).

Watch – well, obviously the football. We had the scores in our ear when I was on QVC this week and for most of the Prai show, my hopes were up, but anyway…  Then we were hunting for a really good film to watch the other night and took a while to find something I really wanted to watch. We settled on an espionage type film starring Chris Pine but if you have any recommendations please let me know on my social media! Meanwhile we got through the whole of Scarpetta season one, what an excellent excellent program!

Funny – this made me absolutely howl this week! And considering I’m going away to Sweden next week to see my brother Glenn and have a little holiday, at Via with a pool, I’ll be copying this vibe no doubt! See it here.

Blooper – Rezzy elbowing in live on telly Lol ‎See it here.

Vlog – one way to help to cool down anyway! Though I was pretty red in the face after finishing the walk! See it here.

Book of the Week – Let Them by Mel Robbins.

Full of personal anecdotes and analogies, this genius book about not caring what other people think and being true to yourself, is an absolute must read for many of us older menopausal women who have reached a stage in life where it’s time to stop saying “when I chose to do this I didn’t have you in mind!“ My good friend in Devon recommended it and it’s been sitting in my Audible for awhile. So I thought I’d take a break from the crime thrillers and have a little listen. It’s funny and entertaining as well as eye-opening and the first part of chapter one could’ve been talking about me! Highly recommended!
