Festive Food Mood! And seven days of sneaky peeks!

You know I normally say another busy week? Or this was just a crazy ridiculous busy week! Punctuated by various QVC shifts, many of which featured… Food glorious food! In the top picture is the inimitable Andi Peters of course, along with fellow presenter Dale Franklin and Henry from calico cottage chocolate and fudge! We were standing right next to poor Gail from Ninja, who was busy sorting out a multitude of accessories for her shows.

She did great as usual! The food event we had was all day long with hour after hour of perfectly prepared culinary presentations with more guests and more food than we have had in a long while! I think everybody backstage had had quite enough “treats“ by the end of the night.

STOP PRESS #1

Once again we have the most amazing Elemis bundle and their Christmas today’s special value offer goes live on air at 9 pm on Saturday (the ninth). I will see you at midnight with what’s available! About a third of the stock had gone by midweek though! It’s online already.

Plus a Dyson today special value vacuum cleaner tonight, Friday! That doesn’t come along very often and it’s a new slim design one!

STOP PRESS #2

And also just to mention, last call for the medical detection dogs afternoon tea on Tuesday at 2 pm in Milton Keynes at their HQ. I’ve had such a great response from my QVC buddies. Jilly Halliday is now also coming, yay! Along with fellow presents to Julia Roberts, and former presenters Alison Keenan and Kathy Tayler too. And if you’re a QVC regular you will know these names, all of whom are coming – Patrick Hoy, Lorna Ko, Gill Gauntlett, Beverley Cressman, Marie-Francoise Wolff, Tracy Krieger And lots of others who you won’t know so you’ll be in good company.

In fact I think we have got only two tickets left at time of writing but it’s always worth emailing me info@ my website, which is DebbieFlint.com.

But the best of all is that Ruth from medical detection dogs who is arranging it all, has now put up a donation line, in response to so many of you asking. If anyone reading this can spare even a little donation every little counts. And I’d love to reach a target whereby I could possibly do something really special to remember Fraser Anderson who was one of our Facebook regulars and a really good guy…

Click this link to find out more about the charity, and to access the donation options 🙂 thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!

Crafty Xmas with Sara Davies

Our lovely craft expert and home decor diva, Sarah Davies, one of the dragons from Dragons’ Den and a regular on QVC, was in this week, I love her stuff, I ended up buying three different things! I hope they don’t put me on her shows too often, it is too tempting!

Actually it was also at 2 pm in the afternoon so I felt a little bit ‘jet lagged,’ I’m never usually on that time of day. Perhaps it’s just as well! She is lovely though and knows so much about her fab christmassy products. Many of which you can adapt slightly to make them your own, in true Sara Davies style. Check out her range on qvcuk.com.

Mum’s Birthday treat number 2!

Went out to the carvery with mum as well this week, along with Alison and Nikki, our good friends and the mums of my kids cousins (a.k.a. Ex sister-in-law‘s!), And my sis Linda. We all had a really lovely chinwag and a catch up. I was absolutely starving because I had been running around all day and had had two zoom meetings just prior to leaving for the meal. So I hadn’t really eaten much all day. One of my favourite dishes, too – a carvery! And we met auntie Aileen while we were there, dining out with her friends – hopefully she’ll come next time, at some stage! It was lovely to see her. She’s my dad’s sister. We have arranged another Flint family get-together in March next year with us and my cousins and remaining aunties!

I also had a lovely lunch with my school friends, midweek. I’ve known all of them for coming up 53 years! How is that even possible! It was lovely to see Dawn and Sharon F again, and of course Laura who has recently joined our gang.

Denise also was there, that’s her top in blue on the left!, but she didn’t want to be in the photo! We met at Chessington Garden Centre and put the world to rights. Lots of wonderful reminiscing. Sharon English you missed a good one! Maybe next time :-). (If you are, or if you know, any old modern Farm middle school buddies, class of 75, let me know! I’ve never managed to find Lisa Dunn, anywhere, not even in the days of Friends Reunited. And Julie Hook (Julie Bruce), do feel free to kindly contact me on Facebook!) You know what they say, you can’t make old friends!

Poppy Postbox

I just love this trend. And this one is really well done. If you’re doing anything to commemorate, this weekend, I hope it goes well. Such an important occasion. Glad to support it.

Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up below to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is an early insider’s glimpse at a pic of the new Christmas shoot I did recently! And how to pick yourself up if you need a bit of a lift!

Watch – several films at the cinema that sound quite good; haven’t been back lately but determined to do so. Will probably go with sis-in-law Alison at some stage soon, maybe the Cillian Murphy one… But meanwhile, how about trying a ‘listen’ rather than a watch?

Try this one (here) on for size, the New Scientist podcasts weekly, deal with some fascinating topics. This one caught my eye this week – if you spin through the first 10 minutes, you’ll get to the bit about the importance of good bacteria and how antibiotics can really spoil your tummy balance and create problems for years afterwards. And what to do about it. Plus how it affects healthy aging and everything. Really worth listening to if you can wade through!

I do love a bit of science, me. And I will be going to the Francis Crick Institute on Wednesday eve next week, (the day after medical detection dogs afternoon tea in Milton Keynes) with June from our Makeup team. Again it’s a gut brain connection lecture. I thought I’d treat myself to a little bit of indulgence… I’m very much looking forward to it. I’m also seeing my old friend LJ Rich for lunch that day as well – finally! – yay! And meeting a super literary agent called Megan, in the middle. Busy busy!

Funny – Okay it’s a smile rather than a laugh, but I thought I’d show you this. Inside the QVC building there are big posters like this one, featuring the presenters this year. Simon Biagi is such a lovely bloke, thought I’d do a special pose just for him ha ha. And hopefully you’ve got the newsletter which comes out each weekend into your inbox? You’ll see one of my own Christmas shoot photographs there this week, it’s the exclusive!

Vlog – in keeping with the craft theme, watch this Vlog and how to, by Sara, a really innovative way of creating an incredible wreath! How simple yet effective! (See it here).

Book of the Week

‘The Margate Murders,’ a drama made for Audible, starring Joanne Froggett and Sheridan Smith amongst others! I was chuffed to find this, it’s not too long, just a few hours, and makes membership worthwhile. Quite cleverly produced, sounded a bit like a documentary of a true crime. And I liked that there were a few twists as well as some great acting, told in interview-style, first person recounting, of a series of murders in Margate. Very clever and highly recommended!

Apart from that, there are lots of books coming out at the moment that you may wish to indulge in, with a Christmas theme. If you have one to recommend to me, why not leave me a comment below? We’ve worked out how to activate comments on here now, so once you’re signed in you can leave me a little comment, (please don’t make it a customer services query or anything that needs an answer, in case I miss it!) I’d love to hear if you have anything you think I should watch on TV or catch up, at the cinema, or to read!
