Famous Faces at QVC and sneaky peeks

It’s so lovely to know we are supported by some very well-known personalities. Had a show with Ruth Langsford this week and talked about cruises – she said she gets seasick even in a normal boat on a river so would never go on a cruise! Hope you liked her T-shirt if you bought it.

Another famous face is of course Andy Peters who is just brilliant talking to everyone behind the scenes, as well as being so funny on TV! (He and Lorna and Will were having such a laugh! Talking of Lorna, look at the blooper below. Lol!)

I had quite a lot of fashion this week, Ruth‘s being just one of the offers. The monsoon one was a long blue dress with no sleeves. Contrast this with the other dress I wore with no leggings… Which did you prefer? Mind you I have to admit I ended up putting leggings on for the later shows – too chilly! LOL

First Bouquet

So this week I was down in Devon running a retreat on my own because his nibs is away on his annual European bike tour! And to mark the occasion (of missing me?!) and to give me something to look at while he was away, I got my first ever bouquet! It was bloody lovely! I split it into two and had one in the bedroom down in Devon and one in the kitchen during the retreat, so I could look at it all day long! (Just don’t tell him I was sleeping with one of his tops. Yes, there’s no hope for the girl! LOL)

H playing grandad

Before we went however, we had a little visit last week to Bradley to babysit and it was so nice seeing Howard play grandad. He was doing jigsaws with Kaleb, and the little lad liked playing with us in the playground, as well. Kaleb got some solo time because Blake chose to stay at home and do something – she’s getting too cool for school aged 8 1/2! Nine in January good God where has the time gone!

SNIPPETS

Deer Deer

Look at this brilliant picture I just had to show it to you, one of the people on our development in Banstead Wood, snapped it – one of the deer from the woods having a little nose into one of the ground floor flats! How amazing to live surrounded by this kind of wildlife!

Retreats For You Gang

It was a fabulous week again this week with the Devon girls who all missed Howard as well! They did him a little message and he was quite pleased! He had just had a day in Europe of riding for six hours in rain… Not quite what he envisaged! Better weather coming though apparently – here as well! The retreat group were really nice as well, a lovely bunch of writers. Looking forward to going to Lauren at the weekend though. And meeting the puppy and seeing the ducks!

Beautiful Daughter

And this was my lovely girl this week. No reason I just wanted to show her off! Can’t wait to spend three days with her on my Annual Leave next week! Not back on QVC until Wednesday!

Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is the X-ray of my thumb after I went to St Anthonys this week (again!)

Watch – Scarpetta, on Amazon Prime. Regulars may remember me voraciously reading a couple of dozen novels in the series by Patricia Cornwell awhile back. Well, they’ve adapted it for television and created a much bigger part for Scarpetta’s Sister, which is played by none other than Jamie Lee Curtis, and she is outstanding! Nicole Kidman is Scarpetta and some recognisable faces are in some of the other main roles. Using flashbacks interwoven with current day, it’s very compelling viewing. Hopefully it will continue the way it began. (One funny thing is that you have to watch it with adverts because it won’t let you fast forward through them, and it’s so long since I watched anything with adverts in! And most of them are really bad! I’d rather watch shopping telly any day Lol.

Or… how about this very balletic, very impressive, very (ahem) watchable, video… See it here.

Or how about a bit of TikTok Shop? Don’t forget that we are currently running our TikTok shop super brand day/week, ending in a big finale over the weekend (11/12th), with some content from our live Glowtopia beauty event in Covent Garden!

Blooper – this was a good one! Very funny Margaret Dabbs! (WHAT did she say?!) See it here.

And look what happened to Lorna onset the other day! See it here.

Funny – okay, it’s another dog, but I make no excuses! This is hilarious! See it here.

And talking of all such things I’m looking forward to meeting the new puppy at lollipops when I go there to Wales this weekend after the retreat finishes!

Vlog – A shame about the weather this week, but I did find something interesting on Dartmoor when I visited my friend Alix… See it here.

Book of the Week – Peter Murphy again, as book 5 in the Ben Shroeder series is out – Calling Down the Storm takes the barrister into a case where he has little to help him defend a husband who has no memory of murdering his wife. This author pulls you in, straight away, with his compelling writing and I’m glad to be reading yet another one in the series!

PS have had some really nice catch ups with my man, thank goodness for technology! He has been calling me most nights after dinner, which has been really nice – to see his face and chat even though we’re miles and miles apart. From France through to Germany, and up the Stelvio Pass in the Alps, apparently! Around 1100 miles away… Shame he’ll miss a lot of the matches for the World Cup which begins this week!…Bad timing, right?! (And my retreat, which I booked when I found out he was going to be away… Mind you if it was the other way round I wouldn’t blame him. I’m sure most bikers would rather be travelling the Alps than doing washing up for a writing retreat!! I’ve missed his help this week, that’s for sure.

DON’T FORGET… to do me a favour by sharing the link to my house and business sale down in Devon! It would mean a lot!
