Duck Egg decorating and sneaky peeks!

I do love a spot of decorating. Because the bike is laid up (see previous blogs), we decided we should spend our three days, decorating his spare room, finally. So we did that instead of going on a motorbike overnight away trip (I know what you’re thinking but the bike is genuinely poorly sick – it’s honestly not because I’m pathologically unable to pack overnight stuff into panniers! 🤪😁).

Another big coincidence, he picked the wall colour that is probably my most favourite colour in the world, duck egg. And we cleared the room, prepared the area, did the woodwork, then did the walls across two days. Very pleased with it! Found a super new carpet warehouse as well, Station Rd carpets in Goddards Green. £40 for an off cut. Wow! And since His Nibs fitted carpets for 20 years, he cut it and fitted it within about 45 minutes.

Cleanup included this short Vlog, which I’ve stuck on YouTube so you can watch it if you read this blog – a sneaky peek of an upcoming today’s special value from Bosch! More next week. See it here.

Also had time for some R&R, including our slow walk up to one of Howard‘s local haunts, The Crown. In the nice evening weather, he loves to look across the Green of his pretty little Village. I must admit this was a lovely moment and I enjoyed the relaxing feeling, being there and so did he by the look of it!

One nice thing about the evenings, you get these kinds of sunsets, like at our flats in Surrey.

Hope you have been enjoying the nice weather! (And check out the exclusive funny, on this week’s newsletter, that comes out every Friday, see below!)

SNIPPETS

Sunday at Brad’s

Had time also for a lovely Sunday trip to my son’s in Fulham, and it was a very packed afternoon. After lunch I played hide and seek, followed by the claw chasing them (I make a claw with my hand and run around shouting the claw, the claw! They go mad and run away and try to whack it with foam swords LOL.) Then did one of mine and the kids’ favourite things, a jigsaw. Lovely afternoon with my family.

Lee n me n George

Lee and his other half were in last weekend, in matching T-shirts and shorts (well kind of). George is so tall he’s one of the few people I’ve introduced Howard to, that Howard has to look up to speak to! (H is 6 foot three!). Looking forward to going to see The Devil Wears Prada with our little theatre gang from QVC, in August, including Lee and Howard!

Jaspy n Winnie – crated!

Look at little Jasper, he’s so funny, he climbed into Winnie the puppy’s crate last week! Winnie is now sleeping alongside Luna who I’m sure is very glad of the company since old Baloo died. He is getting so big! I doubt I’ll see her for a little while so seeing these little updates from my daughter is smashing.

Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is a risquee funny! You have been warned!

Watch – Man on Fire – loved this film, an old one and one of Howard‘s favourites, where ex-hitman and vigilante Denzel Washington becomes a child’s bodyguard amidst a spate of kidnapping… And revenge is on the menu. Very good acting including from the little kid. Highly recommended, 8.5 out of 10.

We also started re-watching Tootsie – what a classic. One of the most perfectly directed films I’ve ever seen I think! ! Loved the premise as well.

Meanwhile here’s another comment section post from Clara Betton – I look out for these on her Instagram every Friday! So funny! Ones where “the comments are even better than the video take a look!” See it here.

Funny – Hahaaaa. That was me, though I never actually did that version of the ‘young’ bit – Lol See it here.

Book of the Week – SPIELBERG – Licence to Lie by Charlie Webster. This caught my eye as an Audible Original and is included in membership. These are often v good.

When the nephew of world-famous director Steven Spielberg turns up at a high school in suburban Virginia, he is untouchable. This 14-year-old – Jonathan Taylor Spielberg – is a star on the rise, filming for his latest movie close by.

He promises to hook them up with Hollywood agents and it’s the late 90s, so his invite to the MTV Awards is enticing… But all is not what it seems. The students start to realize they have been unwillingly cast in a twisted real-life drama.…

I’ll let u know how it goes!!

Also you can pre-order Julie Cohen’s new one!
