Another “Debbie week,” with loads of stuff going on! Back in the swing of things LOL.
Had the most lovely day at Chessington world of adventures near Epsom, with Lauren and her family. From an aquarium tunnel in the sea life centre, and animals galore, to ride after ride (okay mostly kids rides but needs must)! We had a packed day and ended with supper together before they headed straight back to Wales.

Always an absolute pleasure to spend time with the little ones, and my big girl of course. And her hubby. We had the most lovely day, only got rained on twice, and the sunshine wasn’t bright for too long so I was happy! Can’t wait till I see them again when Brad brings his kids down too, middle of August!
The next day I was out and about again, with my school friends who I’ve known for 50 years, Sharon and Dawn, only this time Laura Holmes joined us! Had a lovely lunch in Zizzi in Banstead and had a catch up finding out what Laura had done since we last saw her sometime in the 70s! We worked out that we left Modern Farm Middle School 50 years ago next year! Must plan something!

And finally, I went out with Bruce Bodyblade, not once but twice, since he was over again, for the first time in absolutely ages, with his incredible Bodyblade fitness device. One of the times was just before I was going to the theatre, and Sara Brown joined us – one of my lovely friends. And one of the Bodyblade ‘ohana’ (family). That’s what the Facebook group is called as well – do join!) We always have a really good chat about family, being a grandparent, politics, ambitions et cetera, he’s a great guy! Lovely wife too. And the theatre production I saw was amazing, see below. What a busy week! Make’s a change…!

More from this week and an exclusive picture that will give an idea of what Jasper looks like, on this week’s newsletter (see the word newsletter at the bottom to sign up if you haven’t already, and every Friday a little email drops into your inbox to remind you my latest blog is out, and give you little exclusives!)
SNIPPETS

Cake and chocs and people!
What an eventful weekend last weekend was, when we had Christmas in July and a studio and Green room full of viewers who were also guests on some programs. I had some lovely ladies, and a lot of food shows! QVC knows how to celebrate in style!

Buses Ahoy
Not many people know it, or at least they didn’t until last weekend, but the site on top of which QVC was built, was the place where the very first Routemaster buses were built in London. (That and the graveyard)! And last weekend there was a plethora of the wonderful red vehicles and a few green ones, in the car park outside our building, to commemorate. I wish I had time to go out there and see it but I was on a daytime shift last week for most of the week which killed me! Anyway maybe next time whenever it is, I used to love to jump on and jump off buses! Take you back doesn’t it!

Gone Gardening – again
Because of the hot weather this week, the plants required watering a whole lot more, and so did my niece’s allotment. It’s really relaxing though I must say. Being in nature I can see why she likes it so much. Since going there with mum, it’s come on leaps and bounds. Well done, Becky!
Watch – If you want to remember how brilliant songs were in the 70s, watch this (here), the most popular song for each month. I only didn’t know two of them! Fast forward to now, the 2000s and most of the 90s and I couldn’t tell you many of them!
They don’t make them like this anymore!
Watch – At the Theatre – ‘A View From a Bridge.’
All I can say is wow. Dominic West was outstanding, the guy playing the young Italian, was the same one who played the Welsh guy in, ‘It’s a Sin,’ the brilliant drama set in the 1980s a couple of years ago on Channel 4, who was fantastic in that as well, and the whole cast actually was pin drop fabulous, as was the staging. Never realised Arthur Miller did such intensive impressive character development and conflict. Will definitely look up more of his plays. Nine out of 10 🙂 highly recommended.
Vlog – An unusual surprise for Julia On Air! See it here.
Book of the Week – A brief shout-out for ‘Murder at Cleve College,’ Flora and Jack’s new adventure. Their latest mystery is published this week in ebook, paperback and audio. Find it here.
Join them at their wedding – a joyous occasion for the whole village – but of course, life in Abbeymead is never that straightforward!
Also, ‘The Library Murders,’ is a Kindle Countdown this week so if you haven’t yet caught up with the daring duo, here’s your chance. Just 99p apparently. Get it here.
Have really enjoyed the adventures of Flora and Jack over the years so I’m looking forward to this new one. If you love Midsomer Murders it’s worth trying these novels!
Funny – check out madame Phoebe, who thought it would be funny for me to take a picture of her like this! Actually I used the scarf when we were going down the mini log flume and splashing into the water, but I didn’t quite get the angle right. Phoebe kept relatively dry. I was still soaking wet!
