So the birthday celebrations continued over the weekend, including a really fun afternoon with my siblings and mum and co. We went to a burger place in Banstead which had lovely burgers but no alcohol license which the boys were not very happy about, well some of them. It hadn’t even occurred to me! LOL. But the food was good and as ever, so was the banter. My brothers are very funny. And they surprised me with a load of lovely balloons and a great big cake! Plus they gave me some money towards what I really wanted – a new kitchen sink. Yes, really! Ha ha. You get to a certain age and you get really practical don’t you! Thank you family!

My daughter bought me some lovely flowers and they arrived over the weekend as well, plus I went for a super walk with my ex sister-in-law, Allison, in the woods and her little granddaughter, Violet, and had a cuppa afterwards, always so nice to catch up. She’s the one I often go to the cinema with :-). Then when I got to work, the team sang happy birthday to me, very loudly! Then did something I was not expecting at all – the video of it is your exclusive content in this week’s newsletter. Do feel free to subscribe, spin down to the bottom of this page and press the newsletter button. And make sure you look out for it in your spam if you don’t get it one week!

Another crazy time and another jam packed week in the life of Miss Flint! I enjoyed it but it was very full. And it doesn’t stop because after this retreat is over I go to my daughter in Wales this weekend to celebrate with her!
SNIPPETS

Congrats Victoria!
Congratulations to my lovely colleague who just gave birth to little Wilby! This was her announcement. So glad it’s all over and the little man is finally here – look at that proud look on Victoria’s face! Wonderful.

MYW with a Twist
This week’s Menopause Your Way show was not on the first Monday of the month, they moved it. So we had a twist, considering it wasn’t a regular slot, we didn’t have a regular lineup. We had all ladies who were not yet properly in perimenopause or menopause. This was my little girly gang, and Dr Craig came too! Another fun show. I’m actually away the first Monday of the month in June, but hopefully I’ll catch some of the others!

Brunch with Bruce
Lovely Bruce from Body Blade was over for his visit and we had a smashing catch up at the ‘Maids of Honor’. It’s a tea room just outside Chiswick near Kew Gardens. He made me pledge to have finished my book by the end of August this year! Once I start stepping back a bit from the politics stuff and events! Let’s see what happens! That’s my plan anyway, then I can get French or Dutch published, then I can worry about the next one! It’s only been eight years. LOL.
Watch – Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning, at the cinema! Obviously I can’t wait for this one, I’ve loved all the others especially with the addition of the comedy from Simon Pegg. Hoping to see it when it comes out next week, hopefully Wednesday! The Final Reckoning, will it be the final one, though!
And in the meantime here’s something quite amazing to watch… Well, why not! LOL (See it here).
And… Apparently only girls can do this… Carefully… Can you?! (See it here).
Funny – dipping into the archives cause someone reminded me about Alison Young’s faux pas in the middle of this selection from 2015! Enjoy!
Vlog – down in Devon again this week running a retreat, and missed my moment to go out for a walk and do a Vlog, I must try to do that every day! So I sat in the chair late at night when I’ve made everyone dinner and cleared it up, and did this! Some musings from the studio at retreats for you! (See it here).
And don’t forget that if you’re not on Facebook you can still see those clips because they are set to public view. You don’t have to have an account.

Book of the Week – Firstly, Julie Cohen’s ‘Eat, Slay, Love’ is out in paperback on the 22nd of May! Very good it is too!
Secondly I’ve started listening to the audiobook of ‘Slow Horses’. I don’t know if I’ll ever get to watch the apparently fantastic TV series, so this is the best thing as an alternative! So far so good. And very listenable.
Also I found something called ‘Buried’ by Lynda La Plante which I have dipped into as well – you know how they give you little previews, five minutes of a book, similar to the ones that you’ve been listening to, at the end of your novels? Well this one really caught my “ear”, pulling me in from the outset. If you remember the series ‘Widows’ from the 80s, this features Dolly Rawlings years later. That was one of the best programs I’ve ever seen, so I thought I’d give it a go. Good so far, involves a bit of a time slip. I’ll keep you informed! Dipping in between the two at the moment and I’ve got a lot of driving to do so hopefully I will have finished them both by the time I go back to work on Sunday!

Hi Debs, Thank you for another great blog. They’re usually there when I get up on Saturday morning and always start my weekend off on a cheery note. Enjoy reading about your lovely family, and especially like the sneaky peeks!
I went to Maids of Honour several years ago. It was a treat from two of my besties for my 60th. We took a boat trip from Westminster to Kew, spent the day in the gardens then had a champagne tea at Maids of Honour. Lovely place, very happy memory.
Have a good week. xxx
