Well, it’s happened, my very first time on the back of my other half’s massive motorbike! It’s a Pan European Honda – it was great fun! Don’t worry, on the quiet country lanes in East Sussex and Kent, there was very little traffic coming the other way! Yes, it was just really enjoyable, going slowly round corners et cetera! He is an avid biker, having done it for over four decades. H goes touring in Europe every year (not my plan!), he loves it that much but we’re introducing me gradually, ha ha! After all, I would need to get everything in the back panniers. And for the girl who pathologically is unable to travel light, that will be one of my biggest challenges this year! And finding an outfit to fit rather than borrowing one of his big jackets! But I love the feeling of the wind in my face and being able to whistle along during the lovely sunshiny hours we’ve had recently. Very enjoyable!
Plus it was super stopping at a pub for a soft drink, and a rest, before heading back again! More information on my latest #Thursdaybantz, see Vlog below. Hope there’ll be lots more trips like this and who knows, I might even manage an overnight trip at some stage! I’ll keep you informed.
One of the interesting things is that the helmet actually has a microphone inside it and you can attach communication devices – on charge – so we’ll see how that goes! Other than that we just shouted when we needed to talk as we were going slow enough it didn’t matter!
Gosh there have been a lot of firsts in this new relationship of mine! And I love it.

It looks like my favourite charity, Medical Detection Dogs are expanding into something different. Fresh from a stint being showcased at Crofts (watch it on catch up if you missed it), Mdd have been making waves with a new project. Good for them. I’ve been thinking about what I can do this year and I was actually considering maybe an evening of bingo and afternoon tea! Yes really! Will keep you informed.
Menopause Our Way
Had one of the most packed couches I’ve ever had, last week on our ‘first Monday of the month’ show. Really good fun, lots of banter and chat. One of the stars of the hour was the saffron tablets which I bought two of, one for me and one for Lauren – they’ve now sold out so lots of people obviously thought the same. Looking forward to the next one and hopefully I’ll get it! I do love the challenge of being able to interweave everyone’s stories alongside the selling messages and information about the products!

Book of the Week – Prime Suspect – the first in the series of Linda LaPlante‘s TV adapted novels, the eponymously titled novel that kicked off the TV series. Very, very good it is too! Jane is up against some misogyny in the new department and troubles at home. I missed all of this, there’s a cunning murderer to be tracked down! Must watch the TV show to follow up and see how they adapted it!
Plus – paperback of Body Count by Julie Cohen is out next week! One of my favourite authors, my mentor, and a very clever follow-up to her initial novel Bad Men! Highly recommended!
