Debbie Flint

He’s behinnnnd yooooo!!! And sneaky peeks!

Well, my double stint in Devon has ended, with two retreats running back to back and a busy weekend in between; and on a few of the days I was out with my lovely friends getting videos for them for their campaigning. Here, with Debo up on Dartmoor, this little chap came to say hello! Bless him.

Here’s some more… moor…! See it here.

It was a lovely fortnight for weather too – including some brilliant sunshine – making the garden look enticing! My lawnmower had broken though, so fortunately my neighbour helped with a (cabled!) flymo – took him ages, bless. Hope the new one comes soon.

It was another great group. One of my guests called Andrea even sunbathed for a little bit, it was that warm! So nice now the weather has finally perked up! Everything seems more cheery.

SNIPPETS

By Bideford Quay

Another day I went out to Bideford Quay and it was so hot! My super friend Sam came back after helping Linda, pictured with jane, and Sam and I chatted for ages after dinner! Nice to have such a lovely catch up!

Cheese n Whine!

Had a cheese and wine party for my Patrons friends down in Devon as well on the Saturday night, no rest for the wicked! We got the chance to moan and share our concerns about what’s going on in politics at the moment. Bit of a fundraiser – also had a really interesting talk from a guy called Kevin Foster, an ex-Devon MP, who was talking about what it used to be like working in the Government, very interesting. Coincidentally there were exactly the right amount of chairs and spaces in my dining room for the amount of people that came! I do love a coincidence!

Serendipity

Actually, one of the biggest coincidences I’ve ever known happened this week when I was out on the moor. Middle of nowhere, needed a charger for my phone. I was in Debo’s car. She was round the back of the car and I shouted, “have you got a lightning cable for my AirPods? I’ve got the other type, but not a lightning cable, I don’t really bring them out nowadays.“ She hadn’t heard me, I got out of the car and she’d picked something up off the floor. “Oh look – someone’s dropped this cable,“ she said. It looked brand-new. It was a lightning cable. Literally the next minute after I had asked for one, there it was. Don’t tell me it was just a coincidence! I do believe in things like that.

Now I need to ‘ohmmmm’ the correct purchaser for my place in Devon – to buy it as a holiday let, but it’s quite a niche vision I’ve got. E.g. a couple where she’s gregarious, likes people,  has a connection with writing and loves providing meals, and he is a handyman… or vice versa; plus, if I’m being really picky, they need to be mortgage-free, want to live in the south-west in a thatched 1600s house in a quaint North Devon Village surrounded by beautiful countryside, and get involved with the local community; but still have a business running for a few days a month. A writing retreats business! I’m sure the universe will send the right people along! But if you could, feel free to help the universe and do spread the word? 🙂

Easter cards!

Got my first Easter cards, thank you Dawn! And considering it’s at the end of next week, not long to go! I’ll be nipping down to Wales, with Blake, for a couple of nights beforehand as I’m working all Easter!

Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is a coarse comedienne (aren’t they one of the best kinds?) talking about things I can’t put on this blog!

Watch – An unusual one for you this week. Apart from The Apprentice, interviews week, (iPlayer), thought I’d post this rare bit of football punditry from none other than Prince William! Worth a little watch, bless him!

Funny – all sorts of things about ADD and ADHD keep popping up on my timeline now, of course they do! But when I saw this it made me laugh! (See it here).

Vlog – a throwback! I did a Vlog whilst on a little walk in Devon! Shame I had to report the news that I did though! (See it here).

Book of the Week – ‘T’he Bermondsey Bookshop’ by Mary Gibson. And very good narration by Ann Dover. Set in the early 1920s and onwards, following the fortunes of a poor girl in Bermondsey abandoned by her father, left to be brought up by her aunt, with lots of reality checks along the way reminding us what life was like back then as they struggle to live. Quite an enjoyable tail, some good moments of conflict, enjoying it. Makes a change from Scarpetta – I actually got fed up trying to get Alexa to read book 19 in the series. For some reason it’s not on Audible. Anyway hopefully I’ll get through it and pick up again after that! But nice to give you a bit of variety in the meantime ha ha!
