Even though I worked a lot this week we also had some nice times. Went for lots of lovely walks where I took this gorgeous picture – look at the symmetry. It does remind me of the old Thames TV logo a bit!

Plus H had his family over and we went to the local ‘race’ day, raising funds for two local charities on the Green in his Sussex village – with wooden hobby horses doing “races“!

I caught him mid burger bite hehe!

Lovely as ever to see Faith and James, Howard’s son. Baby Light was on fine form as well!

Later in the week we went to the cinema and saw one of the best movies I’ve seen all year, ‘Pressure’, see below. And enjoyed some super sunsets. 

We are off to Devon for another retreat next week so we’ll be together for a whole week, it will be lovely cause I didn’t see him much this week because I was working! Got the most lovely bunch of flowers though when I did go over after the little break!

Did a lot of sorting out in the flat this week though, thanks to niece Becky helping. Lots of fashions to take to the refuge or charity shop! And still lots more to get rid of! God knows how long it’s going to take me to clear the house in Devon when the time comes, it took long enough this week! And I also had my checkup for my lung function at Saint Anthony’s, the next follow-up is going to examine the findings. I will keep you informed, the consultant Prof Madden said there’s nothing to worry about though which is good news considering I’m still coughing a lot in the studios. Not so much outside, when I don’t eat dairy, however! And I have been working on a little children’s book called the Buzzy Bee, the one I wrote this song for ages ago, hopefully I’ll make it in time for Xmas to be printed as a book!

Ps congratulations to my niece Heather who gave birth to her fourth child, my mum’s 24th great grandchild! A little boy. My brother David now has eight grandchildren! Beats my four!

Posara Pals

Had a lovely chat with three of my best writing friends this week on a WhatsApp/FaceTime call. We’ve been in touch 16 years now and in that time many many books have been published! Maureen, top right, in particular has been prolific and successful, writing as Merryn Allingham, do check out her books, and those of Carolyn Mahony and Litty Williams! Always a pleasure to catch up with my lovely friends.

Playing around with AI

I don’t know about you but I’m amazed at what the AI apps can do nowadays – ChatGPT is my favourite and I consult her several times a day (including my voice, I’ve given her a British female voice! One of the new things you can do is this sort of thing, Howard was amused. He said he wished he was that skinny. But it should’ve been Chelsea or Wimbledon LOL. I think I remember him taking me to a Chelsea match when we dated. That was 50 years ago this month! We are going away mid September for a few days to commemorate the occasion of when we first got together, even though it was only for a few months way back when!

Sleep Funny

Howard sent me this, this week! I must say my routine for nighttime is possibly as long but involves magnesium tablets, melatonin cream, foot cream, sleep spray, green drink, and a nice yoga stretch before I can finally let myself get in the bed! I do like a bit of complete darkness however and if I can’t get it I use a sleep mask!

Book of the Week – Having finished Best of Friends by Julie Cohen, I have to say I think it was rather genius. It was a fantastic book that I think easily lends itself to being made into a Netflix series. A kind of thriller crossed with the movie Carrie, crossed with some of the best she’s ever written, the twists and turns were innovative and entertaining! Do get it if you can!

I’m now on a book set in the 1930s, about a guy with a photographic memory who becomes an MI5 sleuth, it’s the first of several so I’m hoping it’s good – it’s going well so far. ‘The Man from Section Five’ is by Jana Petken – I think it was an audible freebie!
