I did it! Managed to get another picture almost exactly the same layout, with everyone in it and me this time as well, when my children and their children came down again for their annual week with me in Devon. It was a bit different this year because they’re all so much older and more “grown-up”, or so the oldest eight-year-old thinks anyway! They did shows, we did painting, we went cycling, too, down route sent 27 near Lydford.
We also went to soft play, we watched movies, we played in the garden, they played with a puppy, and we spent most of one day at the RHS Rosemore Gardens, meeting their cousins who live in Ilfracombe.
They also did some science experiments like adding an acidic fluid to a basic fluid and seeing it all bubble up and foam over – they squealed with delight!
I must say that overall it was a really lovely time, being with them and seeing them play with each other again. Let alone the fabulous board games in the evening! Needless to say I was ready for a bit of a rest by the time my partner arrived – the night before they all left, but I was really glad to spend quality time with them all under one roof as usual. Although it may be the last time it’s under my roof if my sale goes to plan! Hope you had a good week too!

My kids
Just thought I’d post a picture of them both together, Brad age 39 and Lauren nearly 37. Could not be more proud of my two kids and what they’ve achieved and they’re lovely families. Love them both dearly and I feel very lucky.
Sister’s Success
Well done to my lovely sister Linda who eventually got her degree certificate – she got a First! I got a 2-2, second class, so she beat me! I always knew she could do it and I’m so proud of her, even if it did happen 50 years later. Do look up her counselling group, they specialise in couples therapy amongst other things, and pass the details to anyone you know who might need it? They’re just starting up but they’re doing so well (they being a group of ladies who qualified at the same time).
Love of gardening
This week Phoebe and Lauren also helped me clear out some of my pots and rescued some bulbs, whittled down the rotten old pots and kept the good ones. It’s a task that was long overdue and I’m delighted that my daughter and granddaughter have inherited their love of being green fingered. It was a very close time and I enjoyed every minute. Plus the garden looks better as well!

We also watched Harry Potter again with the kids when we had film night which was fabulous! Apart from that I haven’t seen any telly this week at all! Hopefully I will make up for it now Howard is down and the kids have gone home…!
