Debbie Flint

A day for Mums, and sneaky peeks!

Had a lovely Saturday afternoon with my boy, a replacement Mother’s Day since I was going to be with my mum on the Sunday (and she ended up changing her plans but I went to my sister’s instead!) Spent lots of time playing with the kids, and had a lovely chicken salad dinner cooked for me by my boy and some nice flowers!

On the day itself, whilst Mum was down bowling in Eastbourne (we’ll have a catch up when she gets back), my lovely niece Stephanie invited me round for Sunday dinner alongside my sis and co. Absolutely delicious and very much appreciated! I probably would’ve spent the afternoon tidying up the flat otherwise!

Then on the way to work I went and put flowers on Nan‘s grave as well and planted some little pansies. Hopefully it rains a bit so they don’t all die! Then I went off to work! Another busy day. As Craig would call it, a Debbie day LOL

SNIPPETS

Scones and cram

Yes, I crammed a lot into my week because I then went to Devon after a couple of days work, to run my next retreat! Lovely group, a private let actually. Which worked really well. I also did them scones one afternoon, home-made ones (okay it was a packet mix but they turned out terribly well!) I also managed to have the video guy round to do some more shots, for a little video from my place. Would you tell me what you think of this (here)? Preferably on email, the email on this website just look elsewhere and you’ll see it on here somewhere :-). And if you know a writer please pass it on!

Barb’s Cup

Plus my lovely mate Barbara & co came to visit this week, down in Devon, with the other girls, brought along her pride and joy – a cup she was given in 1944, when the little village school opened for some refugees and Barbara and her friend, that’s all. The prize was for waste paper collection! My goodness that lady has some memories! One day we will walk up and down Sheepwash roads and go through it all!

Stranger…

No stranger, that’s my mate Andrew and me, going to watch ‘Stranger Things’ at the theatre! Bloody brilliant. One of the best things I’ve ever seen and I must say I would see it again. Loved all the effects, loved the acting, loved the staging. I hadn’t ever seen the Netflix series but this still works, and this is the prequel to the TV series, anyway. But will definitely make me want to watch the show now! Had a good catch up with Andrew as well, And then afterwards I went to work and he went to pick up his son! Busy days! Highly recommended anyway 🙂 9 out of 10!!

Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is the code to all those weird emojis used by Gen Z, (that’s youngsters to you and me) in that new Netflix series Adolescence! And what one of my old mates is getting up to, ‘blooming’ good!

Watch – Apart from Stranger Things at the theatre (see above), I must admit I quite fancy Minecraft, mainly because I love Jack Black. That’s at the cinema, but the chances of me getting there at the moment are quite slim given my current itinerary! Anyway… Still loving Reacher on Prime. Haven’t watched this season yet but I will at some stage, obviously! But this caught my eye this week and I thought you might like it – mesmerising! (See it here).

Funny – Jackie Kabler at her finest this time with none other than Dannii Minogue! (See it here).

Vlog – up London! (See it here).

Book of the Week – Yes, you’ve guessed it, Scarpetta book 18. Interesting in a 28-book series, how later books move into introspective from some of the characters about the decisions they’ve made and their relationships with others. That’s where we’re at with this one! I’m sorry it’s not a bit more imaginative but it will have to do for now. Mind you I must say there have been some super authors down in Devon, one of them is called Liz Harris who is writing or editing, I think book 17 in her romances. Good for her! So many people write a lot don’t they. That’s because they don’t have lives like mine… One day 🙂
