What a week of catch ups it’s been. Met my friend Litty on Monday, for a super early supper before I went off to work, she’s my lovely writing friend and we had a smashing chat! In beautiful Sloane Square setting.
Then saw my son Brad on Tuesday (our annual shopping and supper catch up, sorry girls didn’t get any pictures of Brad this time but I’ll include one on the newsletter that I email out to everyone every weekend, just to satisfy those who think he is handsome LOL!)
Then on Wednesday went to the theatre! Had a lovely supper with my mates Christina and Sara, some of my best Theatre buddies. We have wonderful catch ups, brilliant banter, and it’s always lovely to see a good show as well, (see the review below.)
It was quicker to walk back to Green Park afterwards from Shaftesbury Avenue and we passed Fortnum and Masons, where they’ve lit all the windows like an advent calendar! How lovely was this!
A really lovely way to spend my three days off, and I peppered it with having a proper clear out in my flat ready for when Lauren and the kids arrive for Christmas. Believe it or not that is two weeks Saturday!

Amelia’s Tale
Lovely floor manager Amelia was cock-a-hoop this week when Bath and Bodyworks brand came to QVC with a big today’s special value set. It’s sold really well, because people like Amelia have been getting it from America via friends for ages! It was nice to see her be able to give her story about how much she loves it all, and the enthusiasm shone through – both in Alison‘s launch and my midnight show! Well done girl! Great floor manager as well 🙂
Nostalgic Question
Makes me realise how old I am when you see reminders that once upon a time the only stories we saw on telly were accompanied by string puppet characters and everything was black and white(!) when all of our programming had no colour and I was incredulous when I found out Andy Pandy’s outfit was actually blue and white!
Clear Out Out!
On Thursday unexpectedly when I thought I was going to be going to a posh dinner, I discovered it wasn’t that night, so instead of going out out, I had a clear out! Getting lots of stuff ready for the refuge to collect early early next week, for the poor ladies who might end up over Christmas with only the clothes on their backs, having had to flee a dangerous environment. And a midst all of the Christmas present boxes, there were now loads of other bags of clothes and toiletries et cetera. Goodness it felt good to have a clear out! Becky my niece came and helped me, mum popped in, and Beck even tried a chin hammock I found in a storage bag 🙂 funny! She was only too pleased to help me, she’s a good ‘chucker-outer,’ in return for having looked after her lovely cat Luca! Nice to have her back after their trip to Florida, for my sister’s 60th. She comes back at the weekend and we are all off out again for more Christmas celebrations and my sister’s actual 60th birthday!
Watch – ‘The Time Travellers Wife’ at the theatre this week, obviously, and the full review is that I really enjoyed it, it was very cleverly done. I liked the film, and regulars will know that I love all concepts associated with time travel, doing things again, alternative timelines et cetera. I would say that the dancing was a little bit pedestrian, and the songs were not so catchy as I would’ve liked. But the singers were fab and the actors were fab and the staging was the best thing about it! Some amazing effects. Very very clever. Will I see it again? No. It’s no Mrs Doubtfire. But am I glad I saw it? Absolutely. Probably, because of the incredible staging and the clever effects, nearly an 8 out of 10 🙂
Also continued watching ‘The Morning Show’ on Apple TV with Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston. Series 2, and I know there is three now, so I’ve got a long way to go! I love the shenanigans and of course I worked in breakfast radio and now plus I’m very excited about the return of the series Vigil starring Suranne Jones, and of course the last episodes ever of The Crown. With ‘Wills mania’ amongst other themes. Too much to choose from, to watch! Lovely though. When I finally clear my lounge and can start wrapping up presents I will alternate between Christmas shows and the above – it may take me awhile, it’s such a mess! (see picture below.)
Another program that was recommended to me recently was ‘The Jinx’, and also ‘Bosch’ – I will be looking them up 🙂 plus there’s another show that looks quite good, starring Sam Heughan, that has just been publicised. So that’s on my list as well.
Christmas watch – after the super recommendation of the kids program last week, ‘The Boy,’ ‘The Mole’ etc, I thought I would mention a kids film that looks good. Probably going to see Willy Wonka next week when I’m out with Blake on the Friday, along with the nieces. (Yay!) Plus there’s another one called ‘The Wish,’ also at the cinema which looks good. From the makers of ‘Frozen’ and ‘Moana,’ another young feisty female lead character (sorry boys) suddenly finds she can grant wishes, until now the domain of the king only. And is hunted down! Trailer has some quite good cameo characters as well. Must see it sometime.
Watch Mini – I’m such a great fan of these mickey-takes, lip-synched send-ups of famous songs! Here’s probably one of the most popular Christmas songs ever, sendup style! Enjoy! 😂😂🎅 (See it here).
Funny – Dinosaur…
Thought this would make you smile. Alternatively, here is a funny that is a little bit risqué! So you have to click onto my Instagram (here) to see it. Don’t look if you are easily offended ha ha!. PS it says a lot! 😂

This week it’s the turn of Becky Redfearn. Bet you didn’t know she was a stand-up comedian! Teaches Pilates, and has been working with QVC for nearly 25 years, of late representing Silent Night amongst other things! That will be an interesting one! Out Monday.
Vlog – from one of my trips up London this week! (See it here).
Book of the Week – Finished listening to the Christmas Love Letters, which was very pleasant, and the hero Raff is suitably appealing! I like the Christmas setting and there are some great peripheral characters! Must find another one now that’s over! I’m tempted to go for another legal thriller but to be honest I’m feeling in the mood for more light and fluffy festive fayre!
Actually I’ve just realised David Copperfield, directed by Sam Mendes, is available on audible, and just started listening to it! So there you go, a lovely freebie if you buy audible books regularly! And very Christmassy too.
