Review of The Year, 2025! And a sneaky peek at early January!

First a few highlights of Christmas! Hope yours was fun! Apart from some sickness, it was as festive as usual! Had my regular siblings get-together on Christmas Day with all but one of them there this year, it’s a miracle! (The top picture).

Had all the usual jolly fun and games, family get-togethers et cetera, and some lovely times with my man H (who was a bit poorly for some of it sadly). But another very memorable Christmas!

Exclusive on my newsletter this week – a link to the full video montage including lots more pictures. It just goes too fast, doesn’t it! Favourite present – some little knickknacks from Lauren, very thoughtful, and a beautiful bangle from H, amongst other things.

New Year I will be spending it with him after finishing my QVC shift at six, makes a change! I hope you have/have had an enjoyable New Year too!

After all the rushing about & packed schedules, on Tuesday pm, I got to sit and catch up with some admin to do this blog, and also to sit zombie-like, after being a bit poorly in the night! There’s nothing like a bit of zoning out, staring into space and scrolling… Needed it! Plus here are a couple of the funnies I saw:

Loved this Christmas dinner family one – “putting on Nana’s clothes until she notices!” – Very funny American family! See it here.

On-air shenanigans with, yes you’ve guessed it, Jackie Kabler, on with Michael the fab Aveda guest with some very serious questions from viewers over yuletide! See it here.

A funny from the QVC Social’s team including me! See it here.

And I even did the #ThursdayBantz on Christmas Day!! See it here.

And finally looking ahead to 2026, no one could summit up better than Marilyn! Click here.

Looking back at 2025, my review of the year is at the bottom of this blog, enjoy! In the meantime here is your usual reliable, consistent, sneaky peek at the next week on QVC! Looking forward to more of the same in 2026!

Big hugs for a happy New Year! Come back early New Year and there will be an extra picture added here from my New Year’s eve with my lovely man H! In the meantime, auld lang syne to everybody!

Lots of love Debs

Xx

REVIEW OF THE YEAR:

As usual, my look back at some of the highlights. And it would not be complete without mentioning the very special highlight, one that came into my life at the end of the year. It was just after I had my hysterectomy! (About which I did a special blog here.)

Yes, my new era of being a girlfriend!

Very grateful for all the lovely moments with HK, looking forward to lots more to come!

Best moments of 2025:

Looking back here’s a summary of some of the other highlights!

MY EVENTS

I once again put on some excellent events that required a lot of effort, from political speakers, to family get-togethers of Mum‘s descendants in July, and a big medical detection dog event in June, it was another busy one!

BEING SOCIAL

James Murden’s birthday bash at the end of November has to be one of the most enjoyable! As well as spending time with some of my best pals earlier in the year including in Devon. From afternoon tea with my Devon girls, to feelings of achievement with my politics besties, to lots of get-togethers and socials and theatre trips in London – including Andy over from LA, exhibitions with my mate Gill & when H first came along to our Morden Farm Middle School mini reunion – another packed year!

FAMILY FUN

The August Devon holiday was once again amazing, as was the Christmas get-together in December for me and my descendants. So lovely seeing the kids get together and play, and they did so the best ever, in August. Hopefully lots more of that in 2026.

BEST ‘WATCH’

Generally speaking I gauge this on whether I would see it again, and I would in a heartbeat see –

– ‘Titanique!’ – The parody come musical with a bit of panto thrown in, very very good!

– ‘Stranger Things’ at the theatre – probably one of the most clever productions I’ve ever seen!

– On the small screen, amongst many, many other things, I loved ‘House of Guinness’ and of course the TV version of the Reacher novels continues to be fabulous.

– On the big screen, it had to be Bridget Jones, Mad about the Boy, in Feb, and the Downton Abbey third movie, although the final instalment of Mission impossible is up there too!

BEST BOOKS

Too many to choose this year because I listened to a lot of series – loved the Patricia Cornell, Scarpetta ones. Especially the first 20! Loved Lynda La Plante and all her many series, probably the book that followed on from Widows was one of my favourites, Jack Warr book one, ‘Sacrifice.’ And of course it was a big year for my other tent pole authors, Lee Child, Dan Brown, Richard Osman, et cetera!

FAVE PIC

Just loved this one, the framing of it, and the fact that the sunset was so beautiful down on Brighton Beach, it was one of my favourite times with H so far. And that’s him in the background walking along the beach, it’s someone’s dog also in the shot. It just fills me with calm and peace and makes me happy! (There are some other others including a smashing August one of the family with the kids all laughing, but obviously I can’t post it because pictures of the kids are not allowed on my socials! But it’s on a nice canvas on my wall!)

TOP QVC SHOWS … & BLOOPER!

Loved my ‘menopause your way’ hours, and a very memorable shift this year was when suddenly one of my colleagues went sick and I ended up doing four hours on the trot: 8, 9, 10 and 11 pm! Just after I came back from being off for my hysterectomy as well! But of all the memorable moments on QVC this year, this was my funniest blooper from yes you’ve guessed it, Jackie Kabler!! Poor Ruth Langsford LOL! See it here.

BEST HOLIDAY SHOT

Had some lovely breaks away in 2025 but an obvious highlight was the watershed birthday cruise I went on with Mum and Sister for our 60th/80th birthdays over the last couple of years, at the end of May. A beautiful tour around the Mediterranean and we had a really good time! I just love this picture!

Had another lovely trip to France on a writing holiday, of course, in June. Also loved it when mum and I finally got to go across to see brother Glenn in Sweden in August and it was lovely to see him again at Christmas!

TOP QVC PIC!

Had several really good products I’ve loved using this year, but I have to put ‘the’ jacket, 177300, in the hot seat this year don’t I! It has been an amazing phenomenon, with over 350,000 sold, nearly 1500 5 star reviews, and over 70 colours since it launched five or six years ago. I’ve worn it the most on air, got the most compliments for it away from QVC, and relied on it over and over again! Go for it while it’s still only £37 also on discount! With what colours there are left anyway! And yes I’ve got well over 30 now but I do obviously get a bit of QVC allowance!

There have been many many other moments that I have loved this year, but I’ll leave it there for now. Hopefully you have enjoyed this little look back at 2025.

Here’s to a smashing 2026!
