New Year Challenge! And sneaky peeks

Bruce was over for the first time in ages this week, and had a splendid time! His fantastic fitness device, was back in my hands for the first time in ages and I must admit, it gave me the flavour of what it feels like to have a tight tummy again! Then, not only did we manage to get him a sell out show of the fantastic bodyblade during our menopause your way hour, but we had a great time with the girls behind the scenes! Did you see it?

We had a right laugh off screen as well as on, and it was another great hour. I hope you managed to get your plans for fitness sorted. For me, it’s definitely time to get in shape… if only I could stop being faced with such lovely food! This was one of the dishes I did this week, a delicious salmon brunch! Well at least it’s healthy!

SNIPPETS

Bruce’s Sunday Lunch

On Sunday, Bruce had most of the day off, so he came down by train to Sussex for a quintessentially English afternoon in the green man pub and had a Sunday lunch with us! He and H got on like a house on fire, as they found a shared love of racing cars and Steve MacQueen! We’ve been invited over to see Bruce & Carrie in LA. I have not been for years so that would be nice, maybe this year, who knows!

Hiveaway in Wales

Here is an idea of how much snow they’ve had in Wales at my daughter‘s place! They put a drone up above one of their beautiful cabins – isn’t it very hobbitses! (Nb do book it if you want to be able to have a romantic getaway! Here’s their post!)

Misty Moments

When the snow disappeared and the ice went and the blue skies vanished, it was a very atmospheric walk around the lakes in Sussex! Poured down with rain, and we managed to get our walk in during the mist and drizzle moments. Was lovely getting back into the swing of walking every day though. Must keep it up!

Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is a lovely moment with me and H near one of the local landmarks, and the huge snowman they built in Wales this week – they had it much worse than us!

Watch – well where do I start! I’ve spent a lot of time relaxing in Sussex with H. He loves watching war films so we both enjoyed the movie Nuremberg – some harrowing scenes but mostly about the justice after the war. Some very, very well-known faces in it as well! Including the young guy who was the lead in One Day, and also the young love interest in the most recent Bridget Jones film! He was very good. As was Rami Malik (although I couldn’t stop seeing Freddie Mercury at the beginning! LOL.)

And of course the new series of The Traitors that’s just started! I’m trying to convince Howard to watch the whole lot with me! Lol. The secret traitor idea is ingenious!

Plus we went to the cinema and saw “Song Sung Blue” – a wonderful movie with Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman playing a real life couple who are down on their luck but turn their careers around by forming a tribute band. Hugh Jackman is absolutely outstanding, it wouldn’t surprise me if he gets nominated for an Oscar. And same with Kate Hudson – and they both sing in the film! I’ll probably see it again. 9 out of 10!

Blooper – Miceal cracking Jenny up and then cracking himself up some more! Very funny! It’s one of the funniest ones I’ve seen in a long while! (See it here).

Vlog – less of a Vlog, more of a YouTube in-depth chat. QVC has started doing these – not selling anything, just girls chatting together. Here Pipa looks at getting back on your feet when the odds are against you. (See it here).

Book of the Week – This week I’m going to go for The Bookbinder’s Secret. Highly nominated by an online book shop that I follow, it sounds intriguing.

When a burned book falls into the hands of a young bookbinder, she uncovers a tale of forbidden love, a fortune lost… and murder – which puts her own life in jeopardy.

Set in 1901 it sounds intriguing and I’m looking forward to reading it!
Haven’t been doing as much reading because I’ve been with H most of this week and doing my accounts – hate this time of year LOL!
