Jennie’s Return, Gerald’s Dribble and sneaky peeks!

My lovely Devon mate Jennie was back in town after working away for quite awhile, so we had a lovely catch-up this week when I was down in Devon for another retreat. Jennie is one of those friends with whom it’s never difficult to think of something to say, in fact, you kind of feel that there aren’t enough minutes in the day to get enough words out! Got one of those friends? I have several actually, but Jen‘s one of my Devon besties!

Gerald the spaniel, who used to be my late Daisy dog’s boyfriend back in the day, before lockdown, was overjoyed to see me, but not impressed when I wouldn’t give him any of my little pastry! Look at his face!

And of course I caught up as usual with Sheila, not pictured and Sheena this month. The writing group were having a quiet workshop nearby so we had to keep our voices down so we sat in the lounge! It had been dry most of the week but it drizzled terribly on Thursday! Fingers crossed for a nice day tonight (Friday the eighth) because we are due to have an outdoor sunset harvest moon get together maybe with a sound bath if we can persuade Jennie to do it for the writing group @retreatsforyou.

I should’ve caught up with Barb and Penny but there was a mixup over when we were getting together. For some reason my brain conjured up a theatre trip this week, which is not actually happening till the beginning of September – we’re going to see ‘The Vicar of Dibley’ by Holsworthy Amateur Theatre Society (HATS), but not for another month! So I said let’s do that instead of the morning, so they made other arrangements before we all realised! Love to Barb and Pen, and see you next time.

PS another of my Devon besties, lovely Caitlynne Reddington, needs some prayers and support having lost someone very close to her, recently. Sending you the biggest hugs my darling. From all of us in Devon. Xxx

SNIPPETS

‘Menopause You Way’ Gang

Meanwhile back at the ranch, on QVC I had a lovely show this week, with an unusual combination of guests including two men! Jon from lip lift/Gale Hayman was hilarious, and Guy with his ‘my hair Doctor’ Keraplex pick of the month, joined in as well. It was really good fun! Two of the guests even messaged me afterwards to say how much they enjoyed it! I do enjoy doing this chat show format, and have done a lot this year, mostly ‘first Monday of the month’ – although I can’t do September, maybe after that! There’s one every Monday this month I think so watch out for it. And don’t forget to vote for your favourite beauty products in our upcoming beauty awards (I think they are soon aren’t they? I haven’t missed them have I? LOL). The lip lift has been awarded several times! Actually there’s a special offer on at the moment, see below.

Also look at the ‘watch’ video below, for a very useful regular post that crops up and can help your pelvic floor, for us more mature women! And look out for the intimate range of products on QVC which often feature in these shows.

What’s on the Menu?!

Here was one night’s menu from this week’s retreat in Devon – a lovely fajita type dish, followed by my version of tiramisu using cappuccino Easiyo yoghurt! It went down a storm, I’ll definitely be doing that again. Also made some banana cake this week! Get me! LOL. It was a smashing retreat with a lovely lady called Margarita who is a very intelligent switched-on memoir-in-essays tutor, and we were sold out. Mind you I have had a space pop up on September 1st for somebody who wants to just come and be looked after for four nights and just write, even if you’re just journalling. Get in touch and let me know if you’re interested.

Lush Lip Lift Deal

I could not let this go by without drawing attention to the lip lift set in platinum! It’s a big deal and it won’t last long, we sold about 400 old in one show with me last week because it is… My number one product ever on QVC and I can’t be without it! I’ve been using it for coming up 30 years! I really think it’s made a massive difference to my lips – as a 63-year-old! And it’s never too late to start so maybe get this!

RIP Ali O.

There can’t be many of you who don’t know that Alison O’Reilly sadly lost her fight against the biggest battle of all, following the return of her cancer and a long illness. She slipped away surrounded by family last week. And the tributes have been non-stop. I really admire the family for putting up this post (here) on her business Instagram. They’ve invited comments so do feel free to add yours. She will be sadly missed, a wonderful light has gone out.

❤️❤️

Second watch – if you are female, and you’re on Instagram or Facebook, find the female physio, who pops up in my timeline regularly, and every time I see her posts with Kegel exercises, I do them! I swear it makes a difference! Follow her via this link (here) and watch this and you’ll see what I’m talking about, see if you can do it too!

Book of the Week – Awwww it’s Tennison again!! Book 3 was fabulous, called Good Friday, I can really, really see that as a TV series or film! Edge of the seat stuff and I remember some of the things being mentioned, back in the 70s! Tennison gets involved with a terrorist plot, trying to foil it before it’s too late! Now I’m on to book 4! Loving it 🙂 X
