Well, it came and went and was quite wonderful. My lovely Devon friend, yoga expert, massage therapist, excellent cook, and all round brilliant person, Jennie Dodd put up with me long enough this week, to learn the ropes around how to run a retreat at my place in Devon. (retreatsforyou.co.uk/events if you’re curious).
Not only does she run some amazing sound baths at her yoga place not far from here (go here to see a quick insight!), she’s also multitalented and I’m proud to call her a friend!
She did the most amazing meals including the best French onion soup I think I have had in my life, a wonderful apple sponge crumble, and a fabulous pasta Bolognese amongst many other things. It was gradually handing over so that by the last day I left her pretty much to it and she did a brilliant, brilliant job. Now I know Jennie can run retreats for writers (or whoever), when I’m not down there. Which opens up a whole wealth of opportunities.
As I said to my old school friend from Morden Farm Middle School, who I was chatting to extensively this week, hopefully it will help to free me up so I have more freedom and more leeway in my calendar – and if you are a regular follower you will know how important that is, given my intensive schedule!

The writing group down in Devon were lovely, everyone a gem, easy to look after, and Janet Gover the fabulous tutor, once again proved she is one of the best all-rounders in terms of tutoring: if you want to learn how to write a novel and get it published. Hopefully, I can persuade her to come back in the summer!
Here’s a little taster of the week! (See it here).
SNIPPETS

Out w Mumma
Had my first shopping trip out last Saturday which seems so inconsequential now. But it was two or three hours of walking round the shops, and yes I was tired by the end of it but it was really nice to be out and about. (Just in case you wondered, we were buying new black drawers in M & S and had a coffee in the café in Epsom ha ha!)

Pumpkin Passage
Look at the passage of time in my lovely niece Evie’s young years! My brother Derek has taken a picture at the same place every year, because she’s a Halloween baby! Such a nice record. I note she obviously did not want to get into the wheelbarrow on the most recent one ha ha. I think he should try and get her to do it every single year until she’s a grown-up and show it at her wedding! Happy belated birthday Evie from auntie Deb!

Soundbath in a Swimming Pool
Oh my God, this looks so amazing. Talking of relaxing, (which has been the mot-du-jour since my op!), I definitely now have this on my bucket list!
Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is behind the scenes peek at my brother David’s surprise 60th birthday bash organised by his kids! And a really funny, Halloween – inspired but slightly sweary video!
Watch – At the cinema, what a choice! I’m going to see ‘I swear’, and the Springsteen movie, in the next week. Reviews next week, very much looking forward to both.
On the TV, again so much to see, and didn’t watch any of it this week apart from Traitors! My goodness the tension is escalating. I knew Jonathon would go out when he did, the question is who the others choose for next time. My money is on big Joe the ex-rugby player – great guy and very canny!
And closer to home, I couldn’t resist showing you this, our very own Lorna with her version, to tie in with the launch of the SFIXX wall lights!! Clever!! Thanks very much to Lorna and many others of my QVC friends who private messaged me or rang me to ask how I was over the last few weeks and for the lovely things that arrived in the post! (See it here).
Bloopers – oh my God, these are some of the funniest, there are a couple here I really, really held out! See if you’re the same! (See it here).
Funny – I love this! Made me laugh out loud! I think I found a new person to follow online for this type of send up video! By the way, the next one she did was a serious review of a concealer she is amazingly impressed with – the Gatineau miracle eye! Look it up 🙂 (See it here).
Well done, Genevieve Turley!
Vlog – it’s the #Thursdaybantz from Devon! (See it here).
Book of the Week – Still reading the latest from “pillars of the Earth“ mega seller Writer Ken Follett, his new one is based just before the building of Stonehenge! About the warring tribes with a clever insight into the way they might have lived back then, herders, farmers, and Woodland people. Relationship-based as usual, there was a bit too much blood and gore for me but who knows what life must’ve been like back then! I’ve quite enjoyed reading it, very long, always involved, he’s a good storyteller. It’s called Circle of Days.
