Proud of my Family! And sneaky peeks

Well, the Cyprus holiday came to an end and I must say how much I enjoyed spending time with my brothers, and family. Derek and David had lost so much weight. Derek is pictured in the top photo – he’s lost nine stone – NINE STONE!! David also has lost seven I think. And it’s lovely seeing them in much better health. The boys stayed on for another week or so and the rest of us flew home on Sunday. And then on Tuesday my God did it pelt down and rain, didn’t it? I ended up being poorly after my Bare Minerals launch and I was actually off sick on Wednesday! Very unlike me. (See vlog below).

I’d love to say ‘it gave me an opportunity to blah blah blah,’ but I didn’t do anything other than turn around, hadn’t got halfway to work before being told that they’ve got it covered, and then dozed before eventually going to bed. I hate being poorly but I was very rundown and had not had enough sleep for quite awhile I think. Lots of things going on! Anyway, I talk about it on my Friday Facebook live. Don’t forget to join me every Friday night (well almost). – A little banter and a catch up live on my Facebook page (follow link on Vlog below.)

Upon return we had a nice morning for a brunch Al Fresco before the week began. Unpacking is such a sad affair, don’t you think!!

SNIPPETS

Daughter Catch Ups

Always nice to have a catch up with my wonderful daughter, so proud of her at the moment and it fills my heart with joy when I speak to her! We catch up as often as we can and we had the luxury of a whole half hour when the kids were at school to have a heart-to-heart!

Talking therapy anyone?

So proud of my sister Linda. Remember I went to her graduation, and now she is a fully qualified counsellor, including some wonderful topics. I think she is very much in demand but if you need her or you know someone who does, and obviously confidentiality applies, do pass on this picture :-). She’s helped me so much over the years I’d love to help her now, so do feel free to pass on to someone who you know who might be thinking about counselling.

Breathe Easy

Had my follow-up in pursuit of finding the solution to my persistent cough again this week and it turns out all of it is nothing to do with my lungs. I have slight asthma but I went to the lung function clinic in Kingston with a follow-up appointment with the consultant. All of the measures they use, showed good results. In fact, Prof Brendan Madden said they were the best results he’d seen in a good while. (Low bar, tho – remember he sees a lot of ill people!) Now it’s on to a Gastro specialist to see if it’s a silent reflux. Hopefully, they’ll get to the bottom of it at some stage! I’m sick of coughing in the middle of a show on live telly!

Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is ‘me’ in brilliant condition at the gym! Well, actually it’s me in an AI version of what I COULD look like – if I was in brilliant condition, and a very clever AI hack to put your face on a picture. More on my newsletter!

Watch – Celebrity Traitors – it’s back!!

Well, of course I’m going to recommend watching one of the top shows of the moment for this week’s segment! And guess what, our very own fashion guest, stylist Caroline McLeod, dressed one of the contestants! Well done her, Amol looked very stylish!

Plus we’ve been enjoying more of The Capture – still on series one on iPlayer, but I’m looking forward to series three, the one I haven’t seen yet!

Blooper – Just to make a change, here are some old Hollywood bloopers, very funny, well done whoever collected these considering how old they are and how difficult it would’ve been to keep them from back then! See it here.

Vlog – This week it’s not one I usually like to write!

Deb ill!

This is the link for my Facebook page as well, if you want to follow me there and watch the Friday live #Fridaybantz. See it here.

Book of the Week – ‘To All the Men I’ve Killed Before’, Katy Brent.

Another one in the series of the tongue in cheek female serial killer murder books from Katy, a former guest at my Writers Retreat in Devon, and fellow guest at the Bordeaux Writers Retreat I went to for many years before it closed down this year. She’s a very funny lady, ex tabloid journalist and knows a thing or two about writing. Her heroine Kitty Collins is at it again! She writes a really funny book, does Katy, and I’m happy to recommend this one. Can’t believe I didn’t see it and recommend it sooner but it’s not in my library so I haven’t read it yet! It will be my next read!

“If a man hurt your best friend – like, really hurt her – what would you do? Key his car? Or hunt him down and chop him into little pieces? Tough decision, I know.

I’ve tracked this lowlife to LA and brought my little sister Antoinette along for the ride. I’m trying not to be irritated that she’s found a taste for murder and is leaving body parts all over our hotel. Because this girls’ trip needs a Hollywood ending.

And of all the men I’ve killed before, this one will be the sweetest…”

And I’m sure it will! Do start off with ‘how to kill men and get away with it,’ if you haven’t already entered the world of Kitty Collins! Well done Katy, another belter! And I’m so glad to see she’s doing so well, the book is flying high in the shops as well! Easy to find, go and get one.
