Oh my goodness it was cold this week wasn’t it! Lots of us didn’t have snow, but it was freezing anyway. Had a lovely bracing walk down on Bude Beach with my friend from Morden Farm Middle School, who came with me to this week’s retreat in Devon. Sooooo cold! And the clouds were doing some weird stuff.
Had the most lovely dinner which I should’ve taken a picture of! Up at the ‘life‘s a beach’ café, up on the hill by Summerleaze Beach, then a pleasant stroll around some charity shops where I found an old Perry Como LP. I’ve got a record player which I turn on at supper time, down in Devon. I like the really old-fashioned stuff, it really fits with the mood!
So do my pals – my old friends who visited again this week. Yes BARBARA, Penny, Sheila, Ryan, and for a little while Caitlynne joined us. And met my friend from Morden Farm Middle School. Had some delicious cake and a lovely catch up.
Also had a big event on Saturday, more of that next week. Busy busy! But with Jennie there I didn’t stretch myself too much and I had lots of other help as well. Lovely groups of writers, and I left Jenny doing the weekend retreat which was tagged on the end. Would’ve been nice to have a bit more sunshine but we had some lovely walks, and managed to relax a bit as well, yay! Premier Pud
Made this lovely bread pudding this week amongst other things down in Devon. Managed to pick up some brandy infused fruits and spices in Lidl! Yum! Just had a little bit though because I’ve managed to lose 8lb so far since I ended recovery after my op so let’s see what happens in the next six months!
Children’s BBC memories
Been having lots of trips down memory lane this week for one reason or another. One of the reasons was this, which arrived via email I think, somebody remembered receiving this publicity shot when I worked on Children’s BBC and look what came with it. How funny that I used to send all that out in those days! Not quite a CV but quite a long litany of Flint facts! That was 40 years ago next year oh my God!
Me and MF
He’s a picture of myself and lovely Mary Françoise after the Kipling launch. We had a good hour and a half of catch-up chat as I gave her a bit of the chicken that Gail had cooked the night before! Yum! I did four hours on the trot this week because someone had to go off sick suddenly, but fortunately Gail was doing a food item in the extra hour in the middle so I managed to get a nibble of something before I carried on. The things we do for our art!

Book of the Week – Finally finished the Dan Brown, I think it ran out of steam a little, quite enjoyable though in the end. But this week I’m delighted to mention this one from my mentor Julie Cohen! Always a pleasure to read Julie’s books and I’m looking forward to this one!
