Had a flying visit to join my siblings and Mum in Cyprus this week, for my brother David’s 60th & had a lovely time.
One of the highlights of my week was being out on the boat on Tuesday, my brother‘s actual birthday. I can’t normally do things like this easily because it’s harder to control my surroundings and stay in the shade out on a boat in the middle of the sea. But the weather wasn’t too hot, don’t get me wrong, it was hot, but it wasn’t too hot because of the breeze, and my family allowed me to keep changing seats to stay in the shade of the canopy. At one point Mum held onto me for dear life! (See it here).
We whizzed along at 60 mph, with my brother Glenn at the wheel – he is a qualified (what do they call them? Pilot, Skipper? Captain??) for this kind of boat. The lads all jumped into the sea at various places we stopped, and looked like they were having a fabulous time. The sea was crystal clear. Mum and Sister sunbathed at the helm.

And this was brother Glenn serenading us!! (here).
I love being on the water, and it was a magical three hours, followed by a super lunch.

Obviously food in Cyprus is wonderful and we had meze for a couple of times. Evening entertainment consisted of occasionally staying on in some of the bars to be the entertainment (I sent one karaoke song to humour my mum!), Or watch the entertainment. We even made it onto Queen tribute Jay Mercury’s Facebook page! (Briefly). (See it here).
Plus lots of time around the pool – and just relaxing which was really nice. A perfect way to spend the week that’s for sure. Especially in the lead up to my hysterectomy this Saturday.
One more day on QVC, Friday afternoon, on the style channel, and I will be off till early November!
SNIPPETS

Ginormous Hat!
OMG how huge is this! When I arrived, my siblings presented me with this “surprise“ – they had bought me this €70 straw hat – knowing I need to stay out of the sun! How hilarious! I did wear it several times around the villa mainly. But I will definitely use it at some stage in the future! Probably take it to Devon for when it’s really hot and I can sit in the back garden with my own portable parasol! Bless them!

Pretty sunsets
One thing that Protaras is renowned for, is having beautiful sunsets. Like this one! I was in a car so the picture is not as good. But to the naked eye it was fabulous!

Snap! Shirt shock for Birthday Boy!
Thought this was funny. Brother Derek decided we should all order shirts with a design featuring lots of David’s face! You should’ve seen him laugh when we all came out wearing them when it was time for his birthday cake! Genius idea from Del-Boy. One of the best parts of the break was the humour – my brothers are really funny, especially Derek! It was also interesting listening to the three counsellors – Derek, David and my sister Linda – talking about their subject around the pool. Whilst Glenn, the one with the PHD, did his latest project about a venture examining social water provisions in African countries. And I sat with Mum discussing our ancestors! Nice family times.
(Btw there is a close-up of the shirt on my email newsletter as well this week!)
Dehumidifier Weather!
So all sorts of reasons, it’s dehumidifier weather. Drying washing indoors not out. Darkness in the air. Doors and windows being closed more frequently. Well let me recommend the ones we do at QVC. And one of the best atm is the Kalorik! Search “dehumidifier” on qvcuk.com for a special offer for the bigger one! And look out for my post on what came out of it in my flat. Incredible!
Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is my attempts at the best swimming type to do for tummy muscles… Caught unawares by said brother David!! Oh how he laughed. And the close-up of THAT shirt…!
Vlog – #thursdaybantz from a plane!!
What can I say, it’s Thursday, so it’s time for bantz. And being 20,000 feet in a plane is no obstacle! There’s a first!! (See it here).
Watch – The Traitors is back! Need I say more? Looking forward to watching it during my recovery.
Meanwhile here is something to watch – QVC’s very kitsch version – it’s supposed to be banal!! (I think these recent videos on QVC‘s socials have been the brainchild of one of our producers, Craig, who appears in purple at the end! He’s so funny!)
And it tickled me that we now spend a lot of our time watching really, really ridiculous performances and videos. How much crazier can QVC get. Hopefully not quite this crazy –
Specially for the Queen tribute act in Cyprus this week – here.
The more I watch this crazy woman and her blessings and her songs, the more I like her! #NewRo (See her here).
And, well, what can I say… (See this here).
You can probably guess the sort of thing I’ll be spending my time doing when I’m off for four weeks recovering from my operation can’t you! Seriously I want to watch lots of films and the catch ups on Netflix, stuff that I haven’t done for ages. Expect to see me pop up on Social’s publicising QVC bargains though as well, I don’t want to leave anything out!
Ps just as a footnote, I had tears in my eyes with laughter, at this latest one, #ClaraBatten has done it again! (Bad language alert). The rainbow one got me!! (See it here).
Book of the Week – Really enjoyed finishing deprived Hart, I think the 24th book in the K Scarpetta range from Patricia Cornwell. A bit more of a complicated plot but she is building up towards something, it seems! So many on my hit list at the moment including the latest from Dan Brown – Dan Brown, no less! And some of my other favourites as well!
QVC TOP DEALS FOR THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS

You all look like you had a wonderful time on holiday (short for you). Hope all goes well with your operation and I am sure it will. Then enjoy putting your feet up and watching the telly. Let other people run around after you for a change.
