Look at these funny pictures I created with an app called swap face or re-face or something like that, this week! Yes okay, I should’ve been in bed… LOL. Very funny to see stuff like this. I actually downloaded it because there was an advert showing changing your hairstyles using it, but the three that I tried, it kept giving me old granny short hair! No way Jose! They can be quite funny though.
There were also a couple of funny moments on air this week that I saw, one with Jackie that’s in this week’s blooper below, and the other with me and Ralph, from Lara Pearl, that is the exclusive in this week’s newsletter!
Another thing that happened at work this week was our presenter area got a bit of a tidy up! Many of my posts this week have been kind of behind the scenes, (e.g. see the Vlog below) but if you go truly behind ‘behind the scenes’, into a presenter lounge, you’ll see Katie’s big tidy up and the new look lounge! Here’s a little peek! Not many people get to see this, not even QVC guests!

Dad’s BD Siblings Supper
Another year, another get together, only without Glenn who didn’t fit it in his diary this year! Bad Glen Bob! My two brothers Derek and David have lost lots of weight on the Jubie jabs, and we had a nice harvester where they hardly got anything! Evie came too, she’s the one who took the photo, bless her, but usually it’s just Mum and us siblings so we can sit and have a chat about our lovely dad. I could probably AI him into this shot! Maybe I should try! Derek Charles Flint, youngest of seven, would’ve been 86, so happy heavenly birthday dad! X (ps I just wanted to say deepest sympathies and biggest hugs to Bruce from Bodyblade, and my friend, Anne Keating, who lost her lovely hubby Bob recently. We are thinking of you sweetheart).
Supper Club
Had a meeting about my True Blue patron supper club this week, (helping subsidise young people attend prestigious events, mostly to do with politics.) It’s where I’m going to be focusing my energies in future once I’ve handed over the reins in the other roles I do in Devon. Went to Giraffe near Victoria and had some smashing conversations with various people who all agree that getting under 26s engaged in wanting to make a difference in the world, is quite hard at the moment. Possibly one of the hardest times it’s ever been! I wouldn’t disagree!
Ali’s Through The Op!
Our lovely friend and former QVC presenter, Ali Keenan posted this, this week, saying thank you to the staff for looking after her at the hospital where she had her reconstructive surgery. Her final one she hopes. I know there are lots of people going through the same or similar who might feel reassured to read Ali‘s words so I thought I would post it here. Speedy recovery our lovely friend, one of the kindest, nicest, people in the world. We love you Ali.

Watch – The Great Gatsby
Omg what a show! Firstly, I have to say that it is a spectacle not to be missed, and it ends on September 7! So be quick! Secondly, it’s absolutely mesmerising and the songs are performed so that everyone seems like a show stopper, the voices are superb, the sets are brilliant, the performance is amazing, and energy on the stage was magnificent. One of the shining stars was the lead, the guy who played great Gatsby, he was taken ill in the second half during a song and the rest of the show was performed by the understudy – what a moment for him – especially the thunderous standing ovation at the curtain. I would see it again if only I had time. Catch it if you can! Thank you to lovely Carla for coming with me! She’s a good theatre buddy!

Book of the Week – Julie Mae Cohen’s follow-up to Bad Men is finally here! This week I bought the audiobook to her new one, Body Count. It looks fabulous. Julie has been my mentor for 15 years in my writing and is an excellent author so this is highly recommended, if you love the genre of serial killer women killing bad men same LOL, always done with lots of humour as well. If that’s not a contradiction! Well it’s a thing nowadays in publishing!
I’m also loving the second in the detective series, DCI Anna Jarvis, by Lynda La Plante! You know me, when I get my teeth into something, I devour it voraciously so I’ll probably read it through till they’re nearly all finished! I think she’s got a third female detective series as well! But I’ll definitely take a break when it comes to the beginning of September and the next Robert Galbraith book is out, about Strike and Robin! Can’t wait 🙂
Btw – found out this week – turns out I’ve got to have a hysterectomy after all, which will probably be in October sometime – that’s the earliest they’ve got. So hopefully I’ll get the chance to have a really good binge-watch or binge-listen at that point, because I’ve got to be laid up for a couple of weeks! (All good though, and at least it will put paid to some of the issues I’ve been having post menopause!)
