Besties and Garden Parties. Plus Sneaky peeks!

Last weekend I had a flying visit to Devon for the garden party I had sold tickets for. We had over 90 people and it was hosted marvellously by Lady Jeanie Cox and team. Sir Geoffrey celebrated 25 years of representing our Association this year, so there were several tributes and it was very pleasant!

One of the guys called Jeff, makes bespoke watches and gave a special presentation to GC plus £150 bottle of scotch! And I was very proud of our new Chair, Peter, who took over from me in June, and did very well.

Afterwards me and my mate Sam and her family and my friend Margaret, went for a lovely debrief and a gossip, and Margaret and I stayed on for fish and chips before I went back to my place in Devon for a nice long sleep overnight. Don’t often get a chance to do that so that was nice! All in all another lovely week.

SNIPPETS

Lollipop Time

I do love having a little FaceTime with my daughter, even though she’s 35 nearly 36, she’s still my baby. And she had her eyes lasered not long ago, so she doesn’t wear glasses now either. So proud of my girl, and her children as well – all coming down to stay for a few days this weekend! More about that next week 🙂

Here’s an i-deer!

Okay, I couldn’t think of anything better than that! Ross, the newest director at our flats in Surrey, took this picture and said apparently this deer was watching for quite a long while, if I’d have looked out of my window I would’ve seen it, judging from its position in the photo. And apparently it scampered back into the woods straight afterwards. What a lovely place to live! We had a directors meeting last week as well, one more big project for me and then I’m taking a backseat for awhile! Got to finish my book! Did a bit more this week, it’s chugging along!

Fab Phalaenopsis

My pretty pink orchid got a bit of attention this week, when I posted about it and said I had used Richard Jackson’s flower power plant food! Seriously, it’s good for indoor plants as well! This one’s loving it! Hopefully it survives the visit from the kids this weekend

Exclusive – on this week’s newsletter (sign up to get yours in the inbox every weekend), the exclusive content is me without makeup… Twice! And the state of my flat, in a different type of transformation, getting it ready for my daughter to arrive this week!

Watch – Well I have realised that a couple of the series that I really love, have had new seasons and I didn’t even know! Outlander has season seven but it’s not on Amazon Prime. It’s appeared on STARZ so when I get the chance to sit and watch a whole season I will subscribe, but I read the book so I kind of know what’s happening but it would be lovely to watch it with this cast. Also Ozark – I’ve only seen up till the end of season three! So I’ve got that primed to watch now, on my new hisense telly that I bought the other day. With the central stand (isn’t it funny how sometimes the smallest things are the deciding factor!) and I found out that Craig is going to be on the weakest link at some stage near Christmas, how wonderful for him, we are all so proud. One step closer to strictly, we hope!

Blooper/funny – if I haven’t introduced you to this (here) yet, please give this lady a try! She’s very funny. Another menopause show on the 4th of August with me, hopefully it’s a sofa show! Especially for people in menopause and peri menopause, the ‘we do not care Club!’

And you gotta watch this (here), where the mashups are funnier than the original clip!

Vlog – just thought I’d show you this one (here) this week, these amazing dogs are now detecting Parkinson’s disease! Detected earlier it can help if you get medication sooner rather than later. So proud to be an ambassador for this delightful charity!

Book of the Week – Lynda La Plante. Tennison (book 1). This is where detective Jane Tennison began. A prequel to Silent Witness, I think it is? I’ve never watched the TV series but after I’ve read these books I might. I love Linda‘s method of making you care about the characters, the way she interweaves their personal stories, I’m learning a lot! Based in the 70s, it’s very nostalgic , as she interweaves things happening at the time, which I remember. Sometimes I love having been born in 1962!

Ps  I support medical detection dogs. We raised over £2,300 in our June event. Find out more and donate on this link.

PS want to subscribe to my newsletter? Click on the newsletter button at the bottom of this blog. If you are AOL, Sky or Yahoo, you may have to add me to your contacts in order for it to come through, and sometimes even then it doesn’t.
