Had a lovely couple of lunches with mum last week. We went and tidied dad‘s grave, (so many thorns on those rosebushes, they seem to love it there)! And lunch afterwards in the local garden centre is one of my favourite things to do with my mummy.
I bought a pair of these gloves, they’re garden gloves but with some plastic claws attached! Very useful for digging deep down under the dirt without getting it up your fingernails 🙂
But there was another day with a very special lunch last week as well. One of my mum’s partner’s friends is an MP, David has known him since he was a little boy. And he’s stepping down at the next election so he asked us if we wanted to come in for lunch one day in the Commons. It would be rude not to, I thought! Never been in that place before. If you get my newsletter, the exclusive this week is who the MP was well a picture of him :-). All would be revealed next week. I bet you won’t guess though. Unless you look it up LOL. Anyway lunch was very nice but very small LOL.
Just as well, I was going out out in the evening when I got back, and had a lovely dinner! It was at Reigate Manor, a much smaller occasion than previous, and they had a really good speaker called James Sunderland, who I might try to get for one of my events in the future in London. Anyway, he did really well and so did Rebecca, my lovely friend who is the new candidate. Always nice to catch up with friends. And then it was off to work, to babysit, see below, then to go down to Devon for another retreat and a very busy week of meetings and events! I’ll be glad when it’s all over 🙂

Kids Vanished!
Looked after 2 of my grandchildren at Brad‘s in Fulham at the weekend, the blonde ones! I had such a lovely day – and afternoon and evening – with the little 2 1/4 year old, and the nearly 6-year-old. They are such characters. One of their favourite games is being chased. And the sofa is the oasis where they are safe. This was their idea of hide and seek. Then I pounce up over the top of the cushions and go ‘boo!’ They killed themselves laughing. Such lovely times. Can’t wait till we are all together next weekend, Lauren is down for our family Christmas, yay!
Sad, Time Slips By
This week not only did my mum‘s uncle Jack Cullip sadly pass away, the 2nd to last of the siblings from that generation, commiserations and big hugs to all of my family on that side including Cousin Jackie in the Isle of Wight. But we also heard that the dog at the retreat in France I love to go to, has finally stepped over the rainbow bridge as well. He was very poorly the last couple of times I went. He will be very badly missed. Lovely dog bless him.
Shoot!
Had a shoot this week, very interesting it was too. (I hate that stuff, you know that. But we have to do it, it’s our job!) Anyway, it’s all for a new video for each of us, where we answer questions about ourselves in the style of the strictly openers, that will go on the presenter page that’s being revamped, on our website at QVC. Blogs are not coming back over there, but you know you can catch mine here every week for the time being! Even though it’s nearly 4 o’clock in the morning that I’m finishing this, I’ve never missed a week since 2009 and I don’t intend to start! That’s the plan anyway… Hope you enjoy it.
Watch – you know I don’t get jokes? Well you should think yourself lucky that you escape this kind of “entertainment“! LOL, seriously, Jackie is really funny. lol. See it here.

Actually air fryers were the topic of conversation this week down in Devon and a couple of my guests decided to get one on the strength of what we were discussing! Did a lovely dinner including sausages perfectly done in the big one that opens like an old George Foreman Grill shape, from ninja. I love using mine down there when I’m cooking for a lot of people! Did this dinner! Yum I could just eat that right now.
