How could I resist? When my great friend and ex sister-in-law Allison says she wanted to go and see it and wished she had come with me when I went last week, I thought, you know what I’m going to see it again at some stage, so I might as well see it now! So I went on my only night off this week, Tuesday.
We had a good old catch up beforehand, bear in mind I’ve known Alison nearly all of her life since she was about 13 and went out with my brother, then they had three kids the same ages as Brad and Lauren, who all stayed close to my children, and we still all do lots together.
After we had seen the film, which we loved (see below), we got up to mischief in the foyer. Hats Didn’t quite fit, but we still struck a pose!
I’ll keep you informed as to whether or not I see it again LOL! But I’m down in Devon next week, and I’m determined to write my book, so I probably won’t get time 🙂 .
By the way, there’s an exclusive over on my newsletter this week, for subscribers only, of me looking shocking, but why & where! (If you aren’t a subscriber yet click newsletter at the bottom of the page and fill it in.)

Kids books: it’s ‘research,’ governor!
Been doing some research this week on children’s books. Little Blake helped me when I went there with bread. I’ve got a children’s storybook writing workshop happening in October at my writing retreat in Devon, and anyone is welcome including complete beginners. So I’ve been researching some of the books. Blake declared that her favourite was Pemba the Pangolin, created by Debra Leigh’s husband, which is really rather good. Check it out if you have little ones, it’s fab!
Blake on Brad’s shoulders
On Thursday I fulfilled my calendar booking of going to see Blake perform in a little ones’ weekly after school performance class. She was kind of a mermaid-type character, fighting the pirates or something. Really enjoyable and done really well.
Blake was a star! What a little performer. Don’t know where she gets it from 🙂
‘Thank You for being with us’
Last weekend was a big celebration, one of many this year, as we are marking 30 years of QVC being on air. The actual date is the 1st of October but there’s lots of programming in between. And we opened up the lines so that people could give their reminiscences. And you didn’t let us down! Ps not long now and we will be starting a countdown to when we reveal certain presenters’ own designs for our fashion category! Can you guess what mine is?
Watch – Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. One of the best things about the movie was some of the very deliberate nods to key scenes in the first four movies, and in particular the first one. From snakes, to the knife/whip versus gun fight scene, to the final sequence (I won’t spoil it but I absolutely loved it, the best bit of the movie!). Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Dr Henry Jones, has been my heartthrob since I was about 15! And yes he is 80 now but who cares, especially when they have CGI flashback sequences and make him look young again! So bloody clever. Raiders of the Lost Ark is my favourite movie franchise ever because he’s an archaeologist. Need I say more? Go and see it, it is seminal, scintillating, and sound. Nine out of ten! I’ll definitely see it again at some point.
Blooper – definitely have a look at the one I put on the newsletter! Just shows you how amazing makeup is! LOL
Podcast
Go here to get the latest Inside QVC podcast from Will, and the current one if you haven’t listened yet :-). Don’t forget there’s a massive back list to catch up on, too!
This Monday, Will speaks to presenter and fashion expert Jennie Blackhurst about fitting in around her parents’ jobs, and how important they were to her plus what else she gets up to while away from QVC.
Vlog – here’s a different one for you this week, although don’t forget my #Thursdaybantz is on my Facebook page every week. Lovely QVC fashion guest, the one and only Dannii Minogue, also posted about the 30th anniversary of a very special song this week! So I thought I’d put it here for you to see. Not really a Vlog but super anyway 🙂 (See it here.)
And, I created my first Instagram reel, for the ninja, today’s special value launching at 9 o’clock on Saturday night. It looks amazing, cuts superbly well and has a built-in sharpener in the knife block! Don’t miss it! Watch this to get an insight into what it’s all about. (See it here).

I’m hoping for the audiobook, obviously and will keep you informed. But I’m still really loving and enjoying ‘The Beach Holiday’ by Isabelle Broome!
