Happy birthday daughter! And seven days of sneaky QVC peeks

So nice to see my lovely girl last weekend. I went to a super evening social in Devon, then an AGM the next morning, then spent Saturday evening and Sunday with lollipop in Wales.

Before going back to work on the Sunday through some ridiculous weather! More below.

Yes, my girl is 35 and we had a lovely time. We went shopping on the Sunday morning, and it was lovely to spend time with just my daughter, putting the world to rights over a chuck potato and a cup of tea in Marks & Spencer’s in Carmarthen. Had a lovely time seeing the kids as well, they’ve got this crazy swing suspended from the rafters of the two story height ceiling in their barn conversion, and the kids swing from one wall to the other kicking off against the brickwork, hilarious! Phoebe sings wrecking ball while she’s doing it. You really have to see it to believe it ha ha.  Always lovely to spend time with my little Welsh grandchildren, although they speak with perfect English accents – at the moment. And Nick and Lauren as well. Can’t believe she’s 35 though. How does that even happen…

SNIPPETS

Devon Socials

Enjoyed a fab get together with my lovely Devon Patrons for my Association in Devon last Friday, where I’d booked a speaker called Gareth Streeter who is a historian and author, talking about Tudor times and pre-Tudor times 🙂 A very, very interesting guy, a great speaker, and a fascinating book, Henry VIII’s Lost Brother – look it up on Amazon! Then I was up really early to go to the AGM in Exeter on Saturday morning for our area Council, good job I like meetings! Then off to Devon. Lots of hours in the car, at least Devon to Wales was not as bad a journey as London to Devon on the Friday, took me six hours! No wonder I’m getting through so many audiobooks at the moment!

Lying Down on the Job

Thought this behind-the-scenes picture might amuse you, it had been a very long day for Keeley, our fab Elemis expert, and her lovely model Emma! This is how I found them just before my show – it was a TSV day and a very, very long one at that, it sold out big time so they deserved a little rest 🙂 . V funny.

Holibobs for my handsome brothers!

Loads of people on holiday this week! I wish I was away with my friends at the French writing retreat, I have severe FOMO, but I’m running a retreat of my own next week and last weekend it was Lolly’s birthday obviously, so I couldn’t really fit it in, in the middle! Mum is away, and my three brothers are also away!

Rainbow’s end

So this vibrant rainbow with more than seven stripes, during some freak weather recently on my journey down the M4. Look at the Vlog below for an unbelievable juxtaposition of weather last week. Plus regulars to my newsletter which lands in your email inbox every Friday/Saturday, will have the link to another video of that deluge and the site I saw when I came out of the spa last week! (See below for how to sign up to my regular newsletters, you just need to register your email! Includes a reminder that the new blog is out and a link to it, each week, simples!)

Watch – I sat down, just flicked something on whilst I ate my dinner the other night, and got completely engrossed in a documentary.

It’s a three-parter on iPlayer, called ‘The Zelensky Story’ and follows the stranger than fiction real life rise to the top of erstwhile TV comedian, president Zelensky of Ukraine. Poignant towards the end but the first two episodes are just jaw-dropping as you watch his journey from humble beginnings to the top of the tree, via comedy, parody, and Paddington. I sincerely hope there is a fourth episode one day in the future, with a really happy ending for him and his family. A true hero of our time.

Funny – Two for you this week…

Firstly a quickie from Insta that made me smile. You gotta watch this (here) especially if you’re a woman of a certain age… Funny!

And secondly, I can’t help it, I just get entranced by all these funnies from friends. And this whole scene (here) is just comedy genius.

Vlog – Weird weather! Check out this (here), posted following freak weather from Wales to London recently!

Book of the Week – ‘The Life Impossible’.

Matt Haig he’s such a clever writer. I adored the midnight library, and the one he wrote before that. I am currently engrossed in Joanna Lumley‘s amazing narration voice, reading his latest novel, The Life Impossible. An older lady inherits a house and a weird situation involving something out of this world, and evocative scenes involving all the senses, and the sites and sounds of Ibiza. And trancing. Highly recommended.
