Debbie Flint

Debbie does dinosaur hunting, and seven days sneaky peeks!

Was away in blustery Lyme Regis, including at the dinosaur museum, for two days this week with my lovely friend Gill. Poor Gill had to put up with me coughing and splattering as I developed a chesty cough, but we had a good time including some super walks, some lovely meals, and some catch up including lots of laughs 🙂

It was our annual trip out together, and I enjoyed it very much. We go back a long way and Gill is the one who has seen me through most of my adult life, almost all of it in fact! Warts and all! And I love our time together!

My mum

The same is true of time with my lovely mum. I published this montage of her for Mother’s Day, I know it’s a bit belated but I thought I would pop it in here because I’m so proud of her.

My brother Derek and I went out with mum for a lovely slap up Chinese meal on Sunday. I’d already seen Lolly the week before, (the newsletter exclusive this week includes something wonderful her kids did for her!) And I’m seeing Brad this Friday for some supper! Have had lots of meals lately!

Litty Laughs

And here was another one! On Saturday lunchtime I went to catch up with my lovely writing friend who is one of the most inspirational people for me and my creativity. Love her to bits! Thank you Litty for always having faith in me!

Song List from 1978

On this week’s #Thursdaybantz (see it here), we discussed this list of superb songs from the pop charts around this time in 1978. I must say that was one of my favourite years! And I can remember almost all of these songs! The same cannot be said for most of the last 10 years of pop charts as far as I’m concerned! What was your favourite in this, there were some absolute classics weren’t there! And of course Kate Bush was number one! She had just knocked ABBA off the top spot and went on to win the hearts of so many of us, females and males, in the UK. I even did an impression of her when I went on the generation game in 1981 LOL!  We have all got a favourite era for music and this was definitely one of mine.

100 Push Ups in April

per day! Well, having been gobby about being able to do push-ups on my toes, I got challenged to do this! If you’d like to sponsor me even if it’s just £5 or something, please feel free! My money target is £150. And my body target is to not keel over by day three, or start looking like Popeye by day 30! Let’s see how we do!

Watch – well one thing not to see is ‘Opening Night’, Sheridan Smith’s latest vehicle. It is too peculiar for words. I wouldn’t mind if it had good songs or lyrics. It didn’t. Or a really watchable plot. It didn’t. Or easy to follow staging. It didn’t. Oh my goodness this cast is completely wasted on this absolute turkey. 5 out of 100. There were times I just thought “make it stop make it stop!”

My full review is here on my Facebook page, so go and have a look. But don’t bother with this show, unless you want to pay quite a lot of money to see something really confusing and quite bad!

However I did have a lovely evening with my friends Sara and Christina including yes you’ve guessed it, another meal! This time in a place called poppies fish and chip shop just off Shaftesbury Avenue, loved it!

Funny

I bet you’ll be singing it for hours now! #acertainAgeWillRecall!!

PodcastGo here to get the latest Inside QVC podcast from Will, and the current one if you haven’t listened yet :-). Don’t forget there’s a massive back list to catch up on, too!

This week it’s the dulcet tones of lovely Ralph Rossini from Lara Pearl, he talks about the exciting collaboration between Lara Pearl and Dominique, the private reserve collection and he previews some of the new pieces coming to QVC 🙂

Vlog – here’s a lovely walk along the beach from Lyme Regis! See it here.

Book of the Week – I had a quick romp through a new book this week from a new author. One recommended by Rees Witherspoon’s book of the month club. It’s apparently already been made into a Netflix series and I can see why. ‘First Lie Wins,’ by Ashley Elston, started off a bit atypical, but then opened up into a really exciting unpredictable drama. All about concealed identities and subterfuge! Loved it!
