Debbie Flint

What a lovely week! Have been away in Devon then at a spa/writing break, focussing on my writing. It included sorting out new covers for my novels, so they’re consistent – if you look on Amazon now, you’ll see that Hawaiian Escape (Book 1) steamy and PG versions and Hawaiian Affair (Book 2) steamy and PG versions have consistent house styles. The paperback covers on Createspace are also in the process of being matched up too! Yay! What a job THAT was! Anyone who self-publishes may know what a rigmarole it is to get the formatting right. But once you’ve done it, it’s so rewarding to see your work up there and available Especially when so many five star reviews start coming thru!

The links to all my work are below, but meanwhile, here is the latest one to be added to the list – I’ve also just uploaded the complete steamy version of Hawaiian Escape – the original was without the steamy chapter 20 – so that’s now been integrated because so many people asked for it to be! And the whole book can now be bought on Amazon. Do let me know if you enjoy it!

TIPS FOR SCRIPTS - Robert McKee’s Alumni Pepper the Oscar Nominees List

As a graduate of ‘Story’, Robert McKee’s superb script writing seminars, I was pleased to see this round up of some top names nominated for this year’s Oscars, all of whom have been along to his fabulous tips for scripts. This time last year I was over in LA and spent Oscar night in the house of my ex’s producer/manager, watching the ceremony on TV and listening to him swearing about the crappy host, amidst a blow by blow critique of each of the awards. Let’s hope this year’s is much better! And if you don’t know where to begin with scriptwriting, I’d just get McKee’s how-to book, by the same name. His plot tips will help any novelist work out a killer novel idea too. And go here to read more about his courses and seminars around the world – coming to London in the Spring! One day when I'm a grown up I still aspire to be a scriptwriter!

Final word on the Controversy over the recent Author Earnings Survey

One last piece on the now inflammatory but fascinating (and very clever) Hugh Howey Authors’ Earnings Report which created a storm in the self pub world this month. Click here for full report.

Another contribution on digital book world site from Jack Perry just about sums it all up, so just in case you don’t want to wade through it all, check this post out, called ‘The Common Ground in the Debate of Self-Pub v Trad Pub’ Won’t win any snappy title competitions, but worth a read if you’re unaware so far of the whole furore.

Championing the Trad Publisher – The Flip Side

And for a view from the flip side – a successful self pub author who got a deal and says his publishers are brilliant, as featured on my main RiWiSi segment on the QVC Blog. (go to blogs tab at top to read it – it’s another fab success story, which of course we all get inspired by, don’t we, fellow self-publishers!) Or click here to read in full – Self Publishing Changed My Life But my Trad Publishing Deal Exceeded All Expectations. From a guy called Kerry Wilkinson who shifted 400,000 eBooks through self-publishing prior to 2012.

OTHER WORK IN PROGRESS (see my new Work In Progress tab above for updates!)

‘Diary of a Wannabe Shopping Channel Presenter’ – Bridget Jones meets Alan Partridge meets Eddie Murphy in Holy Man… coming Easter 2014

Saw a fascinating Horizon show this week – really made me think. Thinking being the operative word, considering it was all focussing on the power of the mind to help healing take place.

THE PLACEBO EFFECT

Had to include a little ‘essay’ this week therefore, on the wonders of the placebo effect (see bottom) … (of the page, not of me! Lol)… I’ve always been fascinated by the brain and this week’s Horizon stirred me into writing this piece – the links is below too, to watch it on i-Player if you missed it.

Week 4 of 18 – Our Break the Habit Challenge Continues with some BIG NEWS about the Back to You Show!

Well another week, another little ‘aha’ moment or two in my own re-discovery of Freedom Eating. When I lost the 35lb initially, in the late 90’s, it didn’t come to me overnight. But about six months in, it felt, like, how did I ever unlearn all this stuff?! Now many of our regulars on the Facebook Groups (see below) have been experiencing their own little light bulb moments, on their journey down the Freedom Eating path.

Chloe says -

I am now embracing the freedom eating approach.
I can really relate to this book...and it has given me that final push to improve my 'relationship' with food, to feel comfortable with my body and actually do something for ME!!

Week 7 and I've lost nearly a stone but this is just the beginning.
I’m starting to recognise feelings of hunger and satiety, which I don't think I was actually aware of before. I would just eat up until the point where I felt bloated and uncomfortable. I would also eat even when I wasn't actually hungry!
I don't feel deprived of certain foods as I'm not excluding anything. I'm not having extreme cravings that I would normally get on a 'diet' which would usually result in me having a binge and just giving up!
I do have slip ups/bad days where I eat too much or have too many treats but I'm not beating myself up about it anymore.
I've realised that I'm starting to make healthier food choices naturally. I WANT to eat healthy delicious nutritious foods.

Great post, Chloe! It makes me so happy to observe other people experiencing the same thing I did when I first started. Fab news. Keep the posts coming in. This free around food, is how you can be for the rest of your life! We just have to re-learn to trust our bodies.

One of the best things for me is that food and mealtimes are the most-enjoyable ever – taste-wise - yet food becomes so much less prevalent on my mind. Some days I can't even remember what I had to eat. Before, I could list every morsel, as well as the time I ate it. Now it’s as though I don’t have to think about it any more, until my body tells me to.

Keep it up everyone! And keep sharing. It's an amazing transformation, and once you 'get it', it becomes easier than any other weight loss method ever, IMO. Cos it's not a diet you 'go on'. It's a totally new way of being around food. Permanently. (Link for TTFLS at bottom of this post).

THE MONDAY ESSAY

The power of the placebo – what does the future hold?

If you are in any doubt whatsoever as to the power of the mind, just watch Horizon: The Power of the Placebo. For instance, even a fake/simulated operation led to some patients believing their actual fractures and joint problems had been cured, and their lives transformed. There was no statistically significant differences between those who had the real op and those who had the fake one. Incredible. Fake pain relief resulted in less pain felt, as the placebo effect can activate the naturally occurring pain killing reactions in our own brains. The Parkinson's patient whose brain released dopamine - shown on a CAT scan - in reaction to a placebo. A sugar pill as good as the meds. Really? Watch the programme.

The Horizon placebo experiment using fake oxygen at high altitudes showed a physical, measurable, scientific reaction in the subject's body, causing them to feel less pain and work harder - producing a real neuro-physiological effect (of lowering the all important Neurotransmitter PGE2 even though the second chart showed there was no increase in oxygen in the body.) The fake oxygen administered might not be real. But the belief is. And that's real enough for the mind to work the magic.

The only thing I’d observe is that it'd be preferable to use cornflower capsules rather than sugar pills!

In years to come, I believe that the power of the mind will be utilized, rather than denied or ignored in so called scientific studies. Further, in my humble opinion (IMHO), this is in keeping with the power of belief, visualisation, and manifesting your destiny with affirmations etc. It’s all to do with our expectations. The person who believes they can, achieves things. Things which the person who consistently says 'I can't, you can't, it's impossible, chances are it won't happen, be realistic' could never ever do. Hence a 'make it happen' person, well, makes it happen. That's my belief. And hey, whatever I believe will be true for me, right?! ...

In decades to come, this might be a fact of life used to treat symptoms, rather than be regarded by some as simply airy-fairy stuff. Yes, the placebo effect taps into the body's own natural pharmacy. Bad news for drug companies. Sure, you have to think they're real. But - imagine if one day Hypnosis was the technique used to produce interleukins in the brain to treat cancer patients, instead of scary chemotherapy with all its side effects. The brain is indeed a wonderful thing.

Well it’s been another hectic week. And here I am on the eve of going away for a week (mostly to write) and I find myself once again finishing my weekly Fiction Focus at flippin’ four am! Lol. I hope you like what I post each week – I mainly include links for more info and some fascinating facts.

Deb’s Steamy Chapter is finally available to download – see below for info if you missed the newsletter going out late on 21st!

Top bloggers for writers – who are some of the best?

As you’ll probably guess, I get a lot of my info about books and writing from other blogs and info I find on the internet. I’m happy to share as much as I can, but as you can imagine, there’s always far more than I can include here. Well, there just so happens to be a fab hit list of top ten bloggers for writers, on the writeToDone site from a while back . Soooo worth going to read them and sign up for a few – this is how we learn and keep on our toes right?

Then if you find something you think I’D like to read, you can leave me a comment below with the link! I’m going to sign up for Making a Living Writing, and Romance University, amongst others. What about you? Joanna Penn’s one of my faves and she’s on this particular list too. Any beginners can also look back at my archive (bottom left) to last summer where we featured quite a lot of info about where to begin if you’re thinking of self-publishing but you don’t know where to start.

Controversy Continues over the recent Author Earnings Survey

If you’re a writer, did you read it? If you’re a self-publisher, you’re bound to be fascinated by a clever look at Amazon’s sales which created a storm in the world of authors last week. Click here for full report.  Well the debate rages on! Some statistics geeks (and I thought I was bad!) pontificating on about how Hugh Howey’s report made certain assumptions and shouldn’t have (well, he kind of made it clear that he had) and that more research must be done (er, he kind of said that it should be) and up against the nay-sayers and critics, here’s one of my favourite responses to them all, putting it all in context – Jaye also helps to make Hugh’s stats a bit clearer if you didn’t follow them very easily! Click here to read it.

If you’re one of my 70 or so regulars reading this RiWiSi blog weekly, do leave me a comment below and let me know what your opinion of it all is and whether you’re a fellow self-publisher like me!

Amazing Author Earnings Survey

OMG this is the report the self-pub world has been talking about this week. You will marvel at some of the statistics. For instance, if you take the top 100 bestsellers on amazon, and divide them up into who published them, the Big 5 (Hachette, Macmillan, Penguin/RandomHouse, & Simon and Schuster) come out as a much less appealing option for authors than anyone ever thought! I’ve signed up for the next report too – can’t hurt to get a bigger picture view of the ever changing world of self publishing, eh? Book marketing seminar – highlights

-- DO WRITE MORE BOOKS – it’s far and away the key to more sales - we hear it over and over again. Eg Russell Blake, who publishes a new full length novel every 6 weeks or so.

- H M Ward is a hot romance writer, she writes New Adult (as opposed to young adult - basically it's like young adult but slightly older, 18-21, and story is about sex for first time) - she sold 1.5million books since 2011. Wow! Has had tons of New York Times bestsellers. The reason is - she's so prolific. She releases a new book = 20000 word novellas only - every TWO AND A HALF WEEKS! This ties in with the 30-60-90 day algorithms on amazon - where you stay near the top of their list of promoted items if your books are selling, and you drop off if nothing new comes out to keep your titles in demand. Go see www.sexyawsomebooks.com - she speaks in the young adult vernacular there too.

- DO add a link in back of every book to take people direct to your website - with eBooks, that should click thru direct to your ‘subscribe to my newsletter’ page

- DO look at foreign markets - Germany is now where the US was in 2011 - eBooks exploding - Joanna is translating hers into German and Italian and Spanish. Russian is the 3rd biggest eBook market in the world. Mandarin is for the Chinese market - that's where Jo's spending time - including tweeting according to their time zone. She's got an interview with an INDIAN AUTHOR on her website. In Germany recently, the top 10 bestsellers were all self-published.

- DO use podcasts and vlog's - video blogs - it's another 'appointment to view' - reason for people to keep coming back to you and your site/resources

- EG one guy has made it huge cos he does short stories every month on his website which he READS - uploads an mp3 copy of  a weekly story recorded on smartphone, easy to listen to and download. It's built him a huge audience and of course it knocks on to his eBook sales.

- DO Google book bloggers/the name of author who's like you. Email them bloggers and ask them if they’d like to see a copy of your book to review.

Go to www.thecreativepenn.com for more info.

Week 3 of 18 – Our Break the Habit Challenge Continues.

Fab ‘Break the Habit’ success stories. Aspartame the Dodgy Sweetener. And a valentine’s treat – or two!

This week I’ve been mainly –

-          not eating till 6 on the hunger scale,

-          choosing what my body really wants (not my brain),

-          stopping when satisfied, and

-          giving my meal full attention.

Yes, that’s the freedom eating credo, as fully explained in Till the Fat Lady Slims. This week, from 18th-21st Feb, I’ll be uploading a little freebie basic beginners outline to what Food Freedom is all about, the principles around which my semi-autobiographical weight loss book is based. So watch out for it! Click here to see more. (link being enabled shortly) More news Monday.

And so far I think I’ve dropped another couple of pounds, but am not weighing myself. Debbie Sinclair Bunn who’s taken to Freedom Eating big time, and even went as far as to throw her scales in the bin! Attagirl! Do it if they decide whether you have a good or a bad day – don’t let an inanimate object decide whether you will have a good or a bad day!

Meanwhile, on the facebook site there’ve been some lovely success stories including this one, from Nicola Brigden. It warms the cockles of my heart to read words like these. Thank you Nicola, and do keep it up ladies!

“So last night I spent 1/2 hour reading TTFLS and the first wee lightbulb has gone off in this daft head of mine! Had my dinner and brain said 'get weight watchers choc roll'; hang on a min brain, tum do u want it - not at the mo, happy with chicken dinner - OK will check with you in 15 mins
15 mins later - tum do you want anything - not at the mo. It was a bit later that my tum started to say it needed something - after discussion/listening we agreed on a glass of milk
Looking forward to another 1/2 hour with the book tonight ......
Oh, and thanks again to the Ladies who were generous with their encouragement yesterday - I am now in happy place and 1/2 lb loss is GOOD.”

Great post, Nicola! And of course our closed sister group, for those most initimate shares and precious ‘before pics’, is also growing in number with over 200 posts last week alone. Am sooooo proud of our girls on there, and their stickability and enthusiasm and support for others. Do come join us, it’s never too late! THE DANGERS OF ASPARTAME

Did you know there have been more reports to the FDA about aspartame reactions (also known by other sweetener names, full info in article) than all the other food additives put together? I was quite amazed to hear some of the stories posted on facebook this week, when I shared the link to Dr Mercola’s article which includes lots of useful links including to scientific studies. Many said they had reactions that needed a docs appointment and they all went away once aspartame had been identified. Go here to read the article – it makes for sobering reading to any diet drink fanatics.

A Bear Named Flint

The Break the Habit Challenge continues, the steamy chapter is nearly finished (news of how to get it will go out in this newsletter next weekend) and the decision making about the cover art for my next stand alone book 'diary of a wannabe shopping channel presenter' continues apace. Lots of deadlines for me over the next few weeks! Good job I've just booked a nice little break away to a Champneys spa (got a really good voucher deal) at the end of Feb. So much to write!

And amongst it all, news of a Bear named Flint!

It's a bit of a newsflash, 'cos there's not even a picture of it just yet, but I was so chuffed when I found out there was going to be one! It's due to be in this week's QVC Charlie Bears shows (check out the TV guide for when they're on) - assuming it gets delivered in time. And as soon as I get a pic, I will let you all know what it looks like. And I guess I'll be one of the first to buy it! lol. Maybe they'll let me dedicate it to my old dad Derek, or 'our man Flint', who passed on over twenty years ago, when he was just 52. The same age I'll be this May! Eeek!

As Friday is Valentine's Day, I've been thinking of ways of treating myself, being single and all that (again! Lol) I'm actually working on air on QVC on the night, so if you're not celebrating do join me! Then it'll be a nice day of pampering I think, on Saturday! Super! Yankee fragrances, and top skincare and bath brands and a lovely takeaway meal, plus some sort of film, is my estimate? what do you think?

Finally, if you're a writer, do read this Friday's RiWiSi for a link to an amazing new blog which blows the traditional beliefs of the publishing world out of the water! And of course, as mentioned, there will be news of two freebies - my original short story for Valentine's Day, the Valentine's Surprise, and the shiny new steamy chapter, Hawaiian Escape Extra - Helen and Allesandro in Tuscany - it's the x-rated bedroom scene alluded to in the novel. Enjoy your week!

best wishes

Escape the Diet Trap

Week 2 of 18 – Our Break the Habit Challenge Continues.

This week on the facebook site there’ve been some lovely ‘shares’ – individual stories of a journey that’s led to being down, or overweight, coupled with the determination to change things this time – do go have a look. And of course we now have our lovely closed group, for those most initimate shares and several ‘before pics’ have been posted too. I can’t tell you how proud I am of our girls on there, for lots of different reasons.

Go here to read the Back to You QVC Group updates and to join.

MY UPDATE

Over the past week, it’s been interesting to see how I’ve been around food and how I’m fitting in the old familiar Freedom Eating principles once more into my current lifestyle, given the knowledge I now have about what certain foods do inside the body. And more specifically, inside MY body. I am avoiding sugar as much as poss, for obvious reasons if you’ve been reading any of my blogs lately.

And avoiding most Dairy cos I know my body hates it. I have had a couple of ‘donut’ moments, I must admit, but I haven’t give in, cos I really want to keep up with the rest of the group, and it’s keeping ME going, let alone keeping the group going, to know we’re all supporting each other along. It’s like I don’t want to let them down. Which is lovely.

So this week, whilst I’m not weighing myself every day, I can report that my stomach’s definitely flatter, and of course exercise has helped. I’ve kept up doing a bit each day on either the bodyblade or the leg master, and sometimes both. I’ve other machines at home too, which I play around with, plus I walk the dogs most days, plus I love the Urban Rebounder, (click here to see it on QVC) which was on with Forbes Riley recently – a great little trampette for the home, which stimulates the lymphatic system which can help with drainage too (google benefits of rebounding and buy one from QVC if you like the sound of it. Nothing much is easier than jumping up and down, right? With very low impact too – and it gets your heart rate going too. Very good.)

If you’d like to join in on my own Break the Habit Challenge, it’s here. Basically it’s about changing your behaviours around when and how much to eat, rather than always saying ‘no’. And if you’d like more info, it’s in full detail in Till the Fat Lady Slims – click here to see the book on Amazon.

(By the way, talking of my books, this Friday for Valentine’s Day, I’m going to do two freebies – if you only read these Monday updates you’ll have missed it by Monday 17th, so don’t forget to come back to the RiWiSi page on Friday. Valentine’s Surprise – originally written for QVC readers – is going to be free on Amazon, and the new steamy chapter – Hawaiian Escape Extra – Helen and Allesandro in Tuscany – is going to be available as a free download from my website too! You just have to sign up for the regular newsletter on my home page to hear how to get it.)

So keep at it everyone! And if you have a hiccup along the way, that’s ok, just don’t keep overeating, just stop, wait a few hours till the next meal, and start all over again. Remember the best thing is to be kind to you.

NEW GURU – DR JOHN BRIFFA

Considering the topics of this week’s discussions amongst friends, I thought I’d let you know about Dr John Briffa and his wonderful science-packed book ‘Escape the Diet Trap’. Found another new health guru! This guy posted a wonderful refreshing response to the (quite frankly shoddy) Horizon ‘Fat versus Sugar’ programme, the one with the two twin doctors and one eats high fat and the other high sugar. Here’s his response to it, and I know a lot of other experts agreed with him about the poorly made show. Only the last ten minutes was worth anything. And some of what they stated – eg sugar hadn’t don’t the guy much harm – was total BS! I just wish they’d have done some research and they’d have found tons of scientific studies which back up the whole ‘sugar is poison’ thing. Shame, and I was surprised at Horizon’s quality control to be honest! Come back Dr Michael Mosley!

Anyway, if you’re looking for a bit of further reading to help inspire and to make the right choices, do get his book – there’s so much scientific fact behind it, it made my very happy to discover it!

Go here to see it on Amazon and to get a look inside – ebooks always let you see the first ten per cent in case you didn’t know!

Considering it’s got little easy to read chapters about so many different elements of diet and weight loss and failure to stick to a plan, there’s something in there for just about everyone – highly recommended.

If you’re a regular to my ‘Read it Write it Sell it’ blogs, every Friday here, you’ll know how passionate I am that one day when I’m a grown up, I will live in LA and write movies! Well, one day, maybe that means I will sell the film rights for my novels. Therefore, the article below caught my eye! I’m due to go on a holiday soon, and am still working out whether or not to go to LA for the week, see friends, hang out in seventy degree heat (if only eh!) and meet up with some film folks. Or visit a film set if I can wangle it… Or maybe I’ll do that later in the year and just go to Champneys in Feb instead! Lol. Anyway, whatever it turns out to be one thing’s for sure – I’ll be doing a TON of writing!

Teleseminar Well we can all dream, can't we? These guys specialise in a topic in the hearts of all authors, deep down - selling your book to Hollywood. Hopefully the teleseminar they’re offering for free (around 6pm our UK time, Wed 12th Feb) isn’t just a hyped up sales pitch but contains some salient info. I’m going to try to listen in. More info meanwhile is on the reliable ‘Alli’ site here. Will report back next week if I managed to listen in!

New Project!

Once I have published the imminent ‘steamy extra chapter’ from Hawaiian Escape (see bottom of this blog for the cover sneaky peek!), I have a fab new project to finish. Inspired by Bridget Jones, the Diary of a Wannabe Selly Telly Host will be a tongue in cheek diary-style romance-based adventure of a young journalist’s foray into the world of shopping television! It’s hotly awaited by a couple of my beta readers, who are very excited about reading the ending. And then I’ll be cracking on with book three in the Hawaiian Trilogy. So it’s a busy time ahead. All that and I’m supposed to be finding myself a man and writing the ‘how to find a husband manual’ in 2014! Hah! Tell you what, if you know one who is suitable for me, put him in touch and save me some time? : - )

Kids’ Writing

A little while ago I was asked about writing for children, so I sought out a very experienced author, Sarah Webb, who has kindly given me some sage advice about what to do and how to approach it if you’re a beginner.

Her basic advice is below, and her full article can be found on her blog about how to write a picture book here.

Sarah is a bestselling author of ten novels and many children’s books including the hugely popular series for age 10+, Ask Amy Green. She worked in the book trade for many years as a bookseller and buyer and is on the board of Children’s Books Ireland and teaches writing for children at the Irish Writers’ Centre. She says -

“Debbie, with children's books, you should start with the age group - writing picture books is a different craft to writing a teen novel. I have all kinds of info on my website which may help the beginner. Hope the blog is useful. Basically my advice would be - read a lot of children's first, decide on an age group, then write!

Best, Sarah”

OTHER NEWS

-          If like me, you absolutely LOVE movies, here's a RiWiSi update with some of the big screen adaptations of best sellers in 2014. I definitely want to see The Book Thief, and The Monuments Men - the latter nothing to do with George Clooney... Honest! Have u read any of these books? If so, which do u think will make good movies? Read more here.

-          What a fabulous idea! If you didn't know, there's a drive ATM to urge readers to read women authors. ( #readWomen2014). Well this comprehensive and interesting list could be just the inspiration u need! D u see any of your favourites amongst them? I loved Zoe Heller as a writer, used to buy Sunday Times just to read her regular column when my kids were small. Ahhh, what a lovely Sunday morning treat that was, once the kids were sorted out. As we're all the holidays where I spent a third of the vacation time with nose in a paperback, but I realised they were mostly male! Clive Cussler, John Grisham et al. Then I got into reading romances, then writing romances. And they say rule 2 for writers (after rule 1- Write!) is rule 2 - Read! So if you're the same here's a little extra material to help your own words flow! Read more here.

STEAMY CHAPTER UPDATE  Finally as promised last week, just before I release my ‘steamy extra chapter’ from my sexy romance novel ‘Hawaiian Escape’, I am very pleased to present the cover teaser. Thing is – I’d like your help with the layout! Let me know what you think about where the wording should be by emailing me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Hawaiian Escape – Helen and Allesandro in Tuscany - is what happens to Sadie’s sister with her hunky Italian date, during their exciting trip to the ‘change your life’ business conference. In the book, it was left to the imagination – now, here are all the steamy details! It’s a short story – a single chapter, and will be released on Amazon next Friday – as a freebie specially for Valentine’s Day! Whoop!

Freebie 2 -  and I’ll be releasing a freebie on Valentine’s Day of my original short story ‘The Valentine’s Surprise’ too! Don’t miss it.

News next week of how to get it. Full info on my titles below, all on Amazon.

Have a great week! And don’t forget to check out the main RiWiSi on my new QVC UK blog out today, with a Lee Child book of the week. Click ‘blog’ tab at top for more info.

Till the Fat Lady Slims is my 2002 weight loss book all about eating like slim people do, following Food Freedom technique.

Happy February, want to join my new challenge?

Well now that Back to You has ended on QVC each Monday after its January run, our facebook group was going so strongly that I decided there should be a brand new spur for continuing our good work throughout the coming months. It's the Break the Habit Challenge 2014. Until June, you choose some habit you want to change, and stay determined if you can, checking in each week as I will, on the facebook group.

For many of the members who already signed up (by posting a comment and stating their aims), it's all about converting to healthy eating habits and exercise, and for me it's using my Till  the Fat Lady Slims principles from the semi-autobiographical weight loss book I wrote about a decade ago - getting 'back to that' would be my aim! After all, I lost 35lbs pretty painlessly last time. In fact, I've never binged again, and it made mealtimes really enjoyable. (book is on amazon). But don't worry, there'll be a mini version up for free next week!

So to that end, on this week's Back to You blog on my website, I've posted some scary 'before' pictures (you have been warned - #bikini alert'!) and that's my commitment clearly stated - now roll on the summer party to celebrate!

All info is on my new blog and on the facebook site, so do go read if you can!

And join in - after all, you've got nothing to lose except maybe the weight, or the flabby bum, or the stressful routine, or the... you get the idea!

PLUS of course the writing of the novel and of the missing steamy chapter continues - a big announcement about that next week! Till then, enjoy your books, and don't forget to also check out my Read it Write it Sell it page on my website, with some fab links for authors and self-publishers.

This Saturday I'm off to Joanna Penn's marketing your self published novel course, and am really looking forward to it! I love learning new things!

Anyway have a great week!

best wishes
