Debbie Flint

Daughter time in Deepest Wales! Plus sneaky peeks & pics!

Me and Lolly

Well what a tasty loaf that was! Last weekend after my week in Devon, as mentioned, I winged my way to West Wales. Had the most lovely almost-24 hours, with my two gorgeous Welsh grandchildren and my delightful daughter and her hubby.

Alix my lovely original mate in Devon had specially cooked a delicious loaf to take with me and very nice it was too. Spent time on the floor with the children; they are really starting to play with each other, now Jasper is nearly one. Like in this pic, with phoebe’s farm set. She makes the noises and he sits fascinated!

She adores him and is very patient, he loves her to bits and follows her around, or when she comes back in from school, he waits with his arms open, bless him! At one point she tried to get him on the little space hopper-type bouncer! Very funny it was too. Then she decided to hop off down the corridor and he was in hot pursuit.

Phoebe is so clever and articulate on the one hand, and then does the silliest things on the other – like when Nick made some poppadoms and she decided the one with a hole looked better on her face than on the plate! Well she is only four!

Her little brother however, is one on the 12th! One! Already! Then the weekend after that they will be down to see me. Lolly wanted me to buy Jasper his own Tonies box (remember those from a couple of Christmases ago on QVC? Little storytelling characters you place on top of a speaker box and each magically tells a different story!) Can’t believe he is already one!! So lovely to have baby cuddles and to see my gorgeous daughter who seems very happy at the moment which is such a treat to see. So glad I went, even though it was a long drive. They are always worth it.

SNIPPETS

Catching up with Caitlynne

What a lovely time I had also catching up with lots of mates in Devon, as you would have read last week. I didn’t get pictures of everything and half of the meetings were reported in last week’s blog. But on Friday I also added a coffee with Caitlynne, followed by collecting the bread and seeing Alix. We had a little wander through Okehampton as well, which was really nice. Not sure yet, but maybe this Saturday night when the upcoming conference in Taunton ends, if I decide to go back to my house in Devon briefly, I may even get to go to the cinema with Caitlynne! It’s been ages since I went to see a film at the cinema so fingers crossed!

Thanks to David

Thanks to David

A Facebook friend called David Hannah came down from Scotland to see his mates and I managed finally to meet up with him round the corner from QVC, to say thank you for helping me during lockdown with my live singalongs! David was the kind person who recorded all of the songs that I sang, across 100 nights of kitchen karaoke! Don’t forget from the 26th of March over on my Facebook page, hopefully Fraser will be posting each video, three years on, every night for 100 nights! Follow me on Facebook to see some.

Menopause Mates

Had another super ‘menopause your way’ show this week, featuring some more super products and amazing guests including Denise Waterman with her pelvic floor exerciser – you can imagine some of the conversations, we all had a right laugh! If you don’t want to miss these chat-show type hours, sign up on the TV Guide on the app or on the website, for email alerts. Great new brand, ‘mighty green,’ sold out on their debut, of some of their soothing balms. Hopefully they will be back in stock soon. It was also interesting to hear Jack, from your Zooki, owning up that his mum and sister never really spoke to him at all about menopause, but his company had done a special presentation to get the conversation going. I said welcome to our world!. Well I had to get him involved in the hour somehow, given he was there with the supplements TSV deal! Some really watchable content, well done behind-the-scenes team and thank you to my lovely guests! I’m also doing the one on Monday at 4 pm – really looking forward to it!

Watch – The Apprentice has kept me pretty hooked, watching the latest one as I write! Some real numpties this time round, aren’t there! But the film I watched this week which really made me smile, was the latest from Simon Pegg, called ‘Man Up’. A touch of the Phoebe Waller-Bridge magic about it – in fact she has a cameo in it. A blind date goes hilariously wrong, when a singleton in search of a soulmate meets the wrong person under the clock at Waterloo station carrying the same self-help book… but it’s all about the funny scenarios, characters, and some really witty one-liners. Try and watch it if you can, one of the top films this week on Netflix!

Funny – this made me smile. Not that I’ve ever had a wig quite this long, but if you watched ‘The Ring’ back in the day, this would scare the life out of you if your kid got hold of it!

Podcast

Go here to get the latest Inside QVC podcast from Will, and the current one if you haven’t listened yet :-).

From Monday the 6th, listen to Wales interview with Nikki Gewirtz MBE formally of Lola rose jewellery, and Anna Green, our other regular guest. They talk about the new brand ‘Nikki and Me,’ replacing Lola Rose (which has by agreement become a far Eastern based watch brand). They also talk dogs, giving back, and the importance of community. I do love a chitchat!

Don’t forget there’s a massive back list to catch up on, too!

Vlog – Best video blog I did this week (here) was my Facebook live on Thursday with a reveal of the big ninja today’s special value coming soon.

Book of the Week

Well I have found myself another series! Based around a feisty, single, female British detective with Asian heritage, Elly Griffiths brings us another super crime novel character and her entourage. Harbinder Kaur and her sidekick Neil, are based on the south coast, in a contemporary setting, dealing with grisly murders and mysteries. Very much enjoyed the first one, ‘The Stranger Diaries’, and I am now on ‘The Postscript Murders’ (the latter has a little feel of ‘The Thursday Murder Club’ about it!.) Should keep me amused for some long journeys coming up! And the newsletter exclusive information this week reveals which famous author I will be going to interview on Tuesday…
