Brad my Boy is 36! And a week’s sneaky peeks…

Brad

Oh bless my son, he had his birthday whilst he was away on a business trip (okay it was a skiing business trip!) And I’m looking forward to seeing him at the weekend. But I did this little montage. From little acorns mighty oaks grow, I’m so proud of him and everything he’s achieved, including providing me with two wonderful grandchildren and a lovely daughter-in-law. He’s a real chip off the old block. People say he’s handsome, I say I married their father for his DNA lol! Now we got divorced when Brad was 14 and he became a father figure for Lauren too. I’m so lucky with my children and I will never forget it. Happy birthday to my nephew Dean who is also in his 30s, his birthday is Saturday! More next week about what I get up to with Brad at the weekend when he’s back.

SNIPPETS

Ralph Rossini

Ralph’s Return!

Delighted to be on once again with Ralph Rossini, formerly of Honora, now back with Lara Pearls. This was us in the studio many years ago, during a very funny blooper that’s over on YouTube. (You can see the video further down). Had a lovely show with some fabulous jewellery, much of which is still available online, on qvcuk.com, do go have a look!

Although I’ve decided it’s definitely not the time for me to get into politics, regulars will know I’m semi-interested in it, and I went along this week to a talk by a group called ‘Women to Win’ who had some great speakers there on the day including Baroness Anne Jenkin who is a real supporter of getting talented women to stand. I didn’t manage to get a photo but my lovely mate Alison Cork was there. We walked back to Victoria station together and had a lovely catch up! Look out on Wednesday, the 8th of March for inspirational women’s day shows, including Alison at 10 pm, and many of our key high-profile ladies!

Family catch up

Family Catch Up

Brother came back from Sweden for a flying visit with his daughter, sister came over and mum was there. I had no makeup but I could not resist getting a quick snap! Always lovely to get together 🙂 you have to take your opportunities when they come, don’t you!

Watch – What an idiot I am sometimes. Started watching ‘The Gold,’ carried on watching it, then watched a bit more, and finished watching it. All in one night! If you know how long the series is, you will know why I’m calling myself an idiot! I just seem to get a second wind come midnight. Writing this now, even, it’s still 3 am. One day I’ll get back into a normal routine! Or maybe not…

‘The Gold’ is a really well-made, slick, period piece based on true life events, concerning the Brinks-Mat ‘happy accident’ gold thieves in the early 1980s, who stumbled across £26 million worth of gold bullion. This follows the characters involved and how they tried to get rid of their booty, double-crossed or eliminated each other, and were tracked down by canny detectives, one played by Hugh Bonneville. Dominic Cooper also stars. The young policewoman is the star for me, tho’, her acting is brilliant: Charlotte Spencer, one to watch! Catch it on BBC iPlayer.

Blooper – Talking of Ralph, look at this funny from a few years back!

Podcast

Go here to get the latest Inside QVC podcast from Will, and the current one if you haven’t listened yet :-). Don’t forget there’s a massive back list to catch up on, too!

This week Will catches up with gardening expert Emma Real-Davies about her work including being part of a new series of shows on the QVC style channel called ‘My Garden Escape’.

Watch out for something very special coming to QVC on the sixth!

Vlog – One of the most unusual #ThursdayBantz yet, where I tell you why I was doing it in Tesco’s and about my new car! Very chuffed with it so far… 🙂 See it here.

By the way, this week’s exclusive over on my newsletter, is the most amazing thing I’ve seen in the car! (See below for more info about it.**)

Book of the Week

Two to mention this week. Firstly I’m continuing the series by MRC Kasasian, about the Gower Street detective in the Victorian era, Sydney Grice, and his sidekick, feisty female Ward, March Middleton. ‘The Curse of the House of Foskett’ is really well written, such funny turns of phrase, great characters, I really find myself laughing out loud sometimes! It would not surprise me if one day it’s made into a TV series. Highly recommended.

And talking about TV series, watch out for a book called ‘How to Kill Men and Get Away With It.’ It’s by Katy Brent, one of my guests at the retreat last week. I wonder if she will be offered an option for the TV rights, just like I’m hoping to with mine one day – well every author has a dream don’t they? It’s not gonna be everybody’s cup of tea but it’s kind of a tongue in cheek novel along the lines of ‘Dexter’. Get it if you can, I’ve already bought it on audiobook!

QVC TOP DEALS FOR THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS

Friday (today) – Go to qvcuk.com and search ‘today’s special value’ to see and buy what’s left of the wonderful Philip Kingsley bluebell woods three-piece collection, shampoo conditioner and hairspray, to go with the latest beauty pic of the month – the 1 L elasticiser in the same bluebell woods fragrance! Go for it!

Saturday – Silent night mattress or bed, already online, it’s the air max glacier 1750 miracoil.

I got one for down in my room at my daughter’s in Wales. And Nick’s mum also slept on it and was amazed! I can see somebody sneaking in to use it when I’m not there! Well it is a really comfortable mattress, a great budget and worth thinking of, especially because you don’t have to be stuck with it if you don’t like it – they’ll come and pick it up within the 60 days, but I’m sure you’ll love it, just like I did when I laid on it! Great returns policy, always the same with QVC’s special offers and amazing prices.

Big deals ending Sunday night

Go to this section of our website each week to discover the current ones which often end on Sunday nights if there are any stocks left!

Big deals are available on air for usually a week, they may be longer online if stocks last. Occasionally they last a couple of weeks but there are new ones every Sunday night so come back again and see them on the link above.

Next week should include:

– style – phase 8 penele print midi dress

– extra – the original Kate company six-piece seasonal hamper

– beauty – Dr Nassif from Botched on TV, has his three-piece nighttime routine.

– main – Richard Jackson’s Lily instant sunshine plus half a litre of his liquid flower power plant food – that will be well worth it! It’s my favourite. I used it last week on my house plants and there are already little leaf birds growing on my lemon plant, and more red leaves coming on the poinsettia!
