Do they? It's certainly been my own experience - quite apart from the bad effect diet drinks have on your gut bacteria - a pet subject of mine (see archive).

Read this -

When consuming very sweet foods, the body expects a high calorie intake too. As diet drinks often contain no calories (as is usually part of their appeal) the space between what the body expects and what it receives in reality, leaves you in a kind of starvation mode.

In order to rectify the space between calorie and sugar intake, your brain thinks that you're missing calories and so craves more food.

Makes perfect sense.

Read the whole piece here.

What does this mean for the average dieter? That perhaps the best way to get round it is to simply reduce your sweet palate. Easier said than done, especially if you have a bit of an addiction going on. but it's not impossible. Start with a big mug of hottish water with a little splash of fresh lemon juice each day (a little splash). Plus do explore all the reading and watching material on my aids to cutting back on sugar blog here. It really makes sense...

Plus some fascinating info can be found on a very easy-to-watch video on youtube called 'gut reaction parts 1 & 2' - see what you think - it's a whole new frontier in medicine and we'll only hear more and more about it in the months and years to come.

And of course, feel free to come join us on my Till the Fat Lady Slims Facebook support group - plus my books can help too. Back to you – the experts can’t agree – let your body decide

So this week the big headlines that made the front page declared that Red Wine is no longer good for you after all. Despite all the previous studies ‘showing evidence’ that it is, a review of lots of such studies, including all the negative results and not just positive, indicates that it’s far from good. Apart from overweight men and post-menopausal women (kerching!) So how can we take studies seriously?

I have to be honest, since my time in the health food industry when ‘studies’ were the bane of an experienced therapist’s life, I’ve been cynical about studies. Reading the New Scientist each week, I see time and again, a little headline where they’ve tested x on rats, found y, but the reporter extrapolates it into z, taking a massive leap of assumptions that if the same thing happened in humans, we could make a claim that even a layman like me can see is stretching the evidence. One of the worst examples was years ago when I got told that the UK bottled water rules didn’t allow us to drink purified water, because it’s classed as ‘softened’ and ‘drinking softened water has been linked to heart disease’ – which was tenuous at best, and despite a third of the world drinking purified tap water, and the USA top two brands, Dasani and Aqua Fina being exactly that, here in the UK we are forced to drink bottled water with ‘stuff’ in it. But if we purify our own, or a restaurant does it and puts it in its own glass bottles and gives it out on the table for free, that’s ok. Good god.

Well, I know when my body doesn’t like something. It doesn’t like wine, apart from a couple of thimble fulls. Or any other drink, really. It hates dairy, even though I might test negative for lactose intolerance. (I haven’t tested, but I don’t need to, the results in my body are obvious.) It doesn’t like sugar big time and isn’t that fond of white bread.

I found Professor Robert Lustig’s youtube video ‘sugar the bitter truth’ (6.1m views now) a sensation, because it hammered home for me on a screen in a Californian university why my liver had felt so engorged after a depressed Xmas eating crap, mainly sugary treats, and I was still taking sugar in my tea and coffee at that time. I didn’t need ‘published double blind placebo controlled peer-reviewed’ studies to prove to me that it was bad for me. But as the years have gone by, more and more ‘evidence’ has amassed and now suddenly this January our prime minister has contradicted previous claims and may even finally consider a long overdue sugar tax on sugary drinks. Things are changing about sugar. But years ago, in 1971 in fact, a clever scientist called Ludkin already knew all this – and wrote ‘Pure White and Deadly’ – a book that got a lot of attention at the time but was ignored by Ansell Keys who was the unobservant scientist responsible for misreading the reviews about fat leading to the US FDA in 1982 saying ONLY low fat was the solution to metabolic syndrome (encompassing diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol etc etc)

Well it's here! The members-only Facebook group 'Back to You QVC' now has a sister page - where people can post links and tips and offers and deals that are not necessarily QVC related, all as requested in the recent B2U group survey.

To like the page and join in using the 'visitors posts' section, if you have anything to swap or sell or ask for go here - Back to You Tips and Deals page.

Webchat

This week's webchat was with Fiona from Decleor and can be found on the Back to You QVC facebook group here (just ping a request to join the 4200 members!) Now it's a closed/members-only group, webchats will not be posted here any longer, but will happen each Monday 8pm as usual.

In Bruce's webchat here on the Facebook group Bodyblade QVC, Bruce talked about what to do as soon as you get his clever fitness device out of the box:

"Once you open the box, start holding the Bodyblade in your hand. Even if you don't do anything with it, walk around simply holding on to it. Now, take the DVD, put it in your computer or DVD player and watch the LEARN section where I teach you how to hold Bodyblade, drive Bodyblade, and use the product successfully. Now, watch the Super6 workout. Even if you just watch, make sure you are still holding your Bodyblade in hand. Now, and this is very important, just try one exercise for 10 seconds. Not a whole workout but just one exercise. I only want to see short term goals. Today, I will pick up my Bodyblade, hold it in my hand, do 10 seconds of one exercise. When you accomplish that goal. Next day you do more. Each day you work toward doing the Super6 workout in some form. As the success rolls in, you won't want to stop, I promise you"

Check out the Bodyblade video in a whole show on our QVC Extra channels, repeated most days - for tV guide go here.

Imedeen skin supplements

Just a little piece about these amazing supplements, used by many celebrities, who don't get paid to use them, including Joanna Lumley who has used them for 20 years or so.

At the weekend I was on with Emma from Imedeen and a better than 'buy three get one free' pack - item 400667 - you can watch the video of our demo on the video on that page too.

Emma explained how taking the little sachet of 4 tablets every day has a 120 day money back guarantee. How is that even possible? Because they believe in it so much - if you don't see results within 120 days you can get all of your money back - 3-6 months is what you should give it. You might see big differences even on your body skin. Such fab reviews on the website too - here are some -

" I am now on my 3rd month of using the Imedeen tablets and I am now seeing wonderful results. It is a case of being patient, although some improvement was seen at the end of the first month. I have seen a substantial improvement in the depth and plumpness of my skin and lines and wrinkles seem improved. I was recommended to take these as my medication was causing havoc with my skin, despite having a high level beauty regime. Taken in conjunction with using my beauty products my skin now looks and feels better. Even had comments on how well I look. Will continue to use as I believe they have worked for me."

The reason I'm focussing on this this week is because at the moment there's a 4 EZ pay offer which means you can pay just £41 or so per month over 4 instalments for 4 boxes (4 months supply) - instead of nearly £60 per box. And at this time of year many of us don't pay attention to what we eat so much, so this can be your insurance to help your skin cope this yuletide. What if you did see the results that so many of those reviewers see?

As far as my own skin is concerned I was very sceptical, given my own healthy eating and taking of supplements. BUT when Emma measured my collagen levels in my skin, they were 47 in January and three months later had gone up to 53  - a ten percent improvement, which she said she hardly ever sees. Later measurements showed them getting higher. And whilst they don't keep going up - they were lower recently during my super-stressful house move this summer for instance, it helps to know I've given my body the extra back up. How about give it a go? you have virtually nothing to lose, with its 120 day money back guarantee - where else can you get that?! Go for it now here - item 400667

Other News -

- One sausage a day can raise risk of cancer There are other summaries online giving a more detailed explanation about this recent news article but here's the Daily Mail's take on the latest food health scare to hit the headlines - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2085889/Sausage-cancer-Pancreatic-cancer-warning-processed-meat.html

- Vitamin D Can this sunshine vitamin aid performance levels in exercise and lower the risk of heart disease? According to one recent study maybe it can - "Around ten million people in England may have low vitamin D levels. On average, one in ten adults has low levels of vitamin D in summer, compared to two in five in winter. Because people with darker skin are less efficient at using sunlight to make vitamin D, up to three out of four adults with dark skin are deficient in winter.

"Our pilot study suggests that taking vitamin D supplements can improve fitness levels and lower cardiovascular risk factors such as blood pressure," said Dr Raquel Revuelta Iniesta, co-author of the study. "Our next step is to perform a larger clinical trial for a longer period of time in both healthy individuals and large groups of athletes such as cyclists or long-distance runners."

"Vitamin D deficiency is a silent syndrome linked to insulin resistance, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and a higher risk for certain cancers," said lead author of the study Dr Emad Al-Dujaili. "Our study adds to the body of evidence showing the importance of tackling this widespread problem."

This review is from: Till the Fat Lady Slims 2.0 - the 'When' Diet: Break Free from Food Prison Forever (Freedom Eating) (Kindle Edition)
Ms Debbie Flint's book has helped me to completely turn my eating and exercising habits from the worst possible no movement and eating everything in sight to now listening to my body and eating only when I'm hungry and I've completely changed what I eat too ttfls as taught me that sugar is the enemy and I have gone from eating ready meals, tin's and jar's of ready made meals or sauces etc... That all tasted great because they had so much sugar and many other nasties in them but because they said low fat my brain thought fabulous but now I've sugar detoxed and learnt to use freedom eating principles I have list weight inches all over the body I've got my bmi down to 25.7 my blood glucose is down to 4.6 and I now weigh less than I did at the age of 16 and I don't have to resort to slim fast or cabbage soup extreme diets if I put a few pounds on I just re-read ttfls and put all the knowledge and testimonies in there to practise and a week later in ok again I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who's tried all the diets out there and fails this is not a DIET BOOK it's a lifestyle changing amazing lifesaver of a book and I own it on my kindle and in this paperback version and if I could I'd get 100 stars

It makes me very proud.

And the Survey Said...

So regulars will know what's been happening with my Back to You group on Facebook - but here's a bit more info. From Tuesday 27th October, the status was changed to members-only/closed and immediately the activity tripled! Sharon Harvay our lovelly admin, and my mate who does it all voluntarily whilst being a busy mum and beauty blogger, and I were so happy to see all the lurkers' come out and start joining in more than ever before. And our membership has gone up to over 4200 now too.

Results

The survey asked members for their opinions and whilst we had a few non-members take part (it was easy to pick out who they were by the way) the vast vast majority of participants had voted for it to become obscured to their friends and family who could previously see their posts and comments about QVC and their purchases, beauty problems, well-being topics etc, when the group had an 'open/public' status. Since it was no longer open, it ended the endorsement from QVC for on air mentions but in return the group has burgeoned! Secondly we asked for your thoughts on how to improve the group. One of the suggestions was to expand the topics allowed on the group, eg where to get QVC brands apart from on QVC, eg products not shown on air. Also if anyone had swaps of odd products in their collections. Well the great news is there will be a new element launching this weekend, to help do all that! Go to my home page on this website for Sunday's newsletter post, for full info.

Webchats

Guests are clamouring to be lined up to give their ever popular webchats - this Monday's (2nd Nov, 8pm) is Fiona from Decleor, ahead of her new Today's Special Value on Saturday 7th on QVC UK. Join us and start posting your comments, it'll be more buzzing than ever given that from this week onwards, all posts will be kept private, an don't show up on people's newsfeeds so no one will know what you are doing! Next week it'll be Linda Magistris and another big brand! (NB Monday's webchat was a chat between my ambassadet posse for my charity Medical Detection Dogs - Gill Marie-Francoise and myself all joiining in with MC and Quizmaster Patrick Hoy's online ;virtual pub quiz' which was great fun! Go here to test yourself in retrospect. And look out for monthly quizzes from December onwards!

Bruce Bodyblade's webchats will be filed on the Bodyblade group from now on - join here.

So tell your friends to search 'Back to You QVC' group on Facebook and come join us, or click here.

Aids to Cutting Back on Sugar - Updated

As many of you will know, my TTFLS tab above is for my weight loss group - based around my Till the Fat Lady Slims 2.0 - the 'When' Diet book on Amazon in eBook or paperback. Well part of the process is to listen to your body and part of being able to do that properly is to cut back on sugar. For those who find that obtaining more information makes it easier to make the right decisions, I created the 'aids to cutting back on sugar' blog. I've just updated it to include this brand new info from Professor Robert Lustig - showing the amazing results of a mere ten day trial replacing added sugar foods with other carb foods - not even other healthy stuff - on obese kids.

go here to read the whole report in a nutshell  - cutting back on sugar improves childrens' health in just ten days

Hopefully it'll help you or someone you know, cut back a bit. And check out the other videos and articles and book recommendations on my cut back sugar blog here. You can't listen to a body that's addicted - and this blog is designed to help kick that situation into touch.

Future Back to You blogs

Will be less about the group and more about well-being, in the run up to my new series of 'Back to You' starting on QVC Uk in January! Come back each week here for a health topic!

best wishes

Well times they certainly are a-changing!

Here's the big announcement that's coming soon following our very successful survey of 4000 members on the group - in just a week the vast majority of people who replied said they did indeed want the group to go closed.

In fact, 3 out of 4 said they definitely preferred if other friends and family could NOT see their chats on Back to You QVC group crop up in their newsfeed, especially in the run up to xmas. Then of the remainder, another 3 out of 4 didn't mind. That's 19 out of 20 so it will be changing to a members-only/closed status as of Tuesday.

More about it on this week's QVC blog and on my Home News post - you'll have had this if you subscribe to my newsletter!

Just a little Back to You post this week as a one-off - do come back for next week's one with full info on the plans for Back to You group. Exciting times!

This week's webchat with \patrick was fun - it's here - follow this link.

Blog b2u Monday 5thhh oooct

Loved the trip to see the Medical Detection Dogs last week, and love that Gill Gauntlett, Patrick Quacker and Marie-Francoise Kipling are keen to help me raise the remaining funding taking my £5500 to the £11300 needed to train one puppy to help detect cancer or monitor a diabetic’s blood sugar, cutting their 3 year waiting list for an assistance dog. They truly are wonderful animals, just watch this –

Paddy the dog sniffed out his owner’s cancer at an early stage, probably saving her life as it’s hard to detect. Visiting the HQ reminds me I have no problems.

TTFLS / BODYBLADE UPDATE

Had some great reminders also this week of how lots of our ‘gang’ are helping themselves. Health improving, flexibility and strength giving rise to some super stories about daily tasks made easier and everyday challenges like standing etc, made less arduous too. Love them. Here are a couple –

Eileen Davies - Debbie Flint heres a list. Cant separate BB from ttfls as I started them more or less together, but think these are more BB. 1) Lift in energy generally, exceptional energy yesterday so much so that I was out gardening til dusk when I could no longer see the weeds 2) Lift in mood, keep finding myself feeling happy, a sort of joy 3) Enjoying exercise - even though Hampton Court still defeats me I know I am doing much more and stopping less, can now do the stretches too. 4) The walkers role call has me indoor walking too 5) Since swopping late night nibbles for a wobble I get to sleep real quick. 6) Not put the heating on yet - BB is very warming! 7) Feeling more comfortable in my clothes - maybe this should be top of the list but I didn't want to sound shallow!”

Webchats this week were Bruce Bodyblade, as usual, back for his fab visit Tues and Wed this week (7th and 8th) plus Lee Hohbein our super IT expert who answered some very techy questions indeed! Also a ‘new brand focus’ on Darren from Stop and Wow. All below.

Next week – Philosophy! Just ahead of their new Today’s Special Value bargain at the weekend. And a second chat with Judith William’s team about her super skincare.

Final reminder to watch Linda Bignell on 6th at 9am, 1pm and 4pm, bringing the new Red Carpet Ready set (includes LED lamp but works with existing ones if you just want to get varnishes – 12 duos to choose from.) WEBCHATS

WEBCHATS – DARREN FROM STOP AND WOW , NEW BRAND FOCUS

BACK TO YOU WEBCHAT DR DARREN McKEOWN STOP & WOW 5 OCT 2015

Jill Dowding-Walker How old is he? Looks about 18

Sharon Harvay Well...you've asked him now wink emoticon x

AJ Humph Do you use this product over moisturised skin and do you use it all over or just on problem area ?x

Sharon Harvay Hi Darren,

Thank you so much for joining us for a webchat! Your Stop & Wow product sold out super fast! What made you decide to create a skincare line? X

Debbie Flint Have a fun webchat Darren. Hope i do a show with u at some point! Dont forget to tell us a bit about your background x

Darren McKeown I actually LOVE this group already - thank you Jill Dowding-Walker. You've just made my day smile emoticon xx Looking forward to our chat tomorrow grin emoticon

Darren McKeown Thank you Debbie! I will do my best to give the edited down, quick version of my background so as not to bore everyone!

Darren McKeown AJ Humph my preferred way to apply is to put it on after moisturiser although you can mix it with your moisturiser for a 2-in-1 application. You can apply to specific problem areas, although again I prefer to use it over my whole face (although maybe thats just because my whole face is a problem area lol) xx

Sharon Harvay Lol xx it's not Monday yet!

Darren McKeown Sorry Sharon - I got overexcited

Debbie Flint Haha you'll run out of questions! Lol x

AJ Humph Thanks Darren McKeown xxx

Sharon Harvay 8pm tonight do post your questions! How are you finding stop & wow? X

Denise Hensby have you tried it Sharon? if so what did you think

Jill Dowding-Walker What is in it?

AJ Humph Hi Darren would you use a primer aswell ?

Darren McKeown Evening ladies!

Darren McKeown The product contains a micro particle that sits within minor skin imperfections, deflecting light from entering them and creating an instant blurring effect.

Sharon Harvay HI Darren so lovely to welcome you here to our fab group!!! Hope you have had a great day! Tell us a little about yourself x

Darren McKeown If you have tried other 'blurrer' products in the past you may have found they tend to pill under your make up - but this one doesn't. I've spent a lot of time perfecting the formula so that you can either use it on your skin alone, or under your make up.

Darren McKeown A bit like a primer AJ, but so much more than a primer.

Darren McKeown It also contains a light reflecting technology - but a super refined particle so that it doesnt leave your skin looking glittery.

Darren McKeown Thank you Sharon - I am excited to be here! I am a cosmetic doctor - my job is to help women look as best as they can throughout the ageing process. My philosophy is 'less is more' - I developed this product, would you believe, to actually keep women away from my clinic.

Sharon Harvay HahahahahahahahaHa!! It is such a lovely product! and to answer a previous question, i have used it and it is amazing as a "Primer" and really made my open pores "dissapear" great for either make up on or off days yay x

Darren McKeown A lot of people are now getting semi-obsessed by medical procedures to keep their skin looking good and they are becoming over-reliant on cosmetic treatments. I want to move away from that again. I developed this products for the days when you may feel like your skin needs an extra boost, and there is a temptation to think about procedures - but this is for a quick fix at home.

Sharon Harvay Fantastic

Sharon Harvay How did you get into the industry you are in?

Darren McKeown Cosmetic medicine was always going to be career in life. I went to medical school with a very clear vision of where I wanted to end up - I am attributing a lot of that to my very glamorous and appearance conscious mother and grandmother. I get the concept of wanting to look good and I really love helping women to achieve that.

Darren McKeown I initially trained in surgery, but prefer preventative cosmetic medicine instead now - my work is all about the long term relationship with my patients, looking after their skin throughout the years.

Sharon Harvay Wow - That is amazing! You also do lots of talks on this subject and appear on lots of Tv shows about it too. Is it hard to bring out a new skincare range with so much competition? x

Lorri Vick I havent tried this yet. Have a feeling i need to

Darren McKeown  It is a tough market Sharon - but my products aren't made off the back of some corporate market research network. They are borne from my experience of working with real women, from a whole range of backgrounds, with a whole range of ambitions and desires, day in day out and gaining and a first hand understanding of what they really want and what their skin really needs. I am hoping that by sticking to those core principals and observations the products will strike a cord.

Darren McKeown Lorri Vick if you decide to try it, please let me know what you think! I love hearing feedback today.

Darren McKeown In fact, just today one of my patients was telling me she is using it for the back of her hands! I actually hadn't thought about that before, but she swears by it!

Lorri Vick Definitely will Darren x

Lorri Vick Are your other products on QVC?

Sharon Harvay Wow!!! amazing!!! I love the texture of this particular product, its so beautiful, and light!! You cannot even feel it on the skin. Will you be bringing more from your range to Qvc? x Congratulations by the way on the huge Sell out show x

Darren McKeown Lorri Vick My other products aren't there... yet Michael James Hamlyn Hi Darren, thanks so much for doing this! It's always great to see men within the beauty industry, and I'd be really interested to hear how stop and wow works for us guys...

I also always like to ask the guests what there guilty pleasure is. Mine is Lego... Not that I'm that guilty about it!

Lorri Vick Lets hope other items follow soon!

Sharon Harvay ........yet........hehehehe x

Jill Dowding-Walker What ages can use this product? How does it perform on a variety of skin types? Would it be suitable on oily complexions?

Darren McKeown Yes Michael this is definitely for us as well! I never leave the house without it. Erm, guilty pleasure... going to the gym on a Monday night after work and then coming out to eat Chinese take out for dinner

Darren McKeown Hi Jill - this can literally be used by any age and any skin types. It works a treat on oily skin!

Sharon Harvay Hahahahaahahahahahahaahaha

Darren McKeown I know Sharon - caught!!! Just so long as my other half doesnt read this or I will be well and truly dead!!!

Sharon Harvay Darren thats so funny....but easily Justified

Darren McKeown This is what happens when I get left home alone to fend for myself Sharon Harvay!!

Sharon Harvay Ok, after a long day in the "office" which is fascinating, and after the gym and after eating chinese, after the gym......how do you relax?

Janie Smith Laying in bed here still feeling really unwell and knowing my skin is suffering! Will this product really bring my glow back?

Michael James Hamlyn Haha! Brilliant - Think that's allowed! It's people coming out the gym and lighting up a cigarette I don't understand!

I haven't had a chance to see a presentation of your product yet sadly... How does it work, where does it fit? I do currently have a good cleans, tone, serum and moisturiser routine, and have been known to be partial to a bit of BB cream too...

Denise Hensby it sounds really good i have large pours so will give this a try, thanks for all info great help Darren

Darren McKeown Hi Janie - you will literally see the benefit as soon as you apply it. It is not the sort of product you need to keep using to eventually see the benefit. I like to think of it as a hybrid between a skincare product and a cosmetic product!

Darren McKeown Ah, Michael - I am the exact same routine as you! This goes after the moisturiser and before the BB.

Darren McKeown Denise Hensby - I hope you like it. We are back on QVC on 16th so you can see a demo of the product then. xx

Janie Smith What are the key ingredients that make it so effective?

Janie Smith With use will it also give skincare benefits?

Darren McKeown It is our special spherical microparticles that camouflage imperfections Janie and our super fine light reflecting technology. It is an instant hit 'quick fix' type product Janie rather than a long term benefit skin care type product.

Sharon Harvay Forgive any spelling errors from me dodgy keyboard.....

Sharon Harvay So Darren, in a nutshell...Who needs this product and why?

Darren McKeown I hadn't even noticed Sharon... although I dread to re-read my own posts. I have been speed typing here like there is no tomorrow!

Sharon Harvay You are doing fab-thank you x

Darren McKeown Sharon  this is for every woman (or man) who sometimes looks in the mirror and thinks 'my skin just needs a quick fix'. It could be open pores, dull skin, rough skin texture. Just that missing 'x-factor' from your skin. It doesn't matter what age you are - the technology works the same to camouflage and perfect. I really loved the before and after picture on your blog post - I thought that illustrated the 'air brushed' effect PERFECTLY smile emoticon XXJill Dowding-Walker What would you recommend to keep the skin in as good condition as possible naturally, before using your products (or any others)?

Sharon Harvay thank you.....will find it

Darren McKeown Honestly Jill there is one thing that I tell EVERY woman who comes to see me for the first time, regardless of age, sex, race. SUN PROTECTION. Keep your skin out of the sun and I promise you will love the way you age. There really is no product or procedure out there that is as good as sun protection.

Sharon Harvay i tried to zoom in too, to show it. Amazing x I Know its not the main point, as many people have seen fantastic results on lines and wrinkles, but its an amazing base for make-up, creates such a smooth canvas, so thank you.

Sharon Harvay Abi Cleeve Qvc from Ultrasun will be thrilled you said that Darren!!

Darren McKeown 80% of wrinkles are caused by sun. 80%. Just think how many wrinkles could be prevented simply by avoiding the sun - not just using sun protection, but covering up in the sun, sitting in the shade. It really pains me on holiday watching girls who still bask in the sun.

Jill Dowding-Walker Fantastic Darren! I concur (and love Ultrasun)! That and a plentiful intake of water, clean diet and sound sleep! Darren McKeown It has been a pleasure chatting to you ladies (and gent!). I think that is now time for me to go and do the airport run... hiding the evidence of the chinese food before I leave! If anyone wants to post any more questions I will be delighted to answer them later

Lorri Vick Thank you for the chat Darren x

Sharon Harvay Back to you Qvc please give huge thanks to Dr Darren McKeown for joining us this evening after a very busy day! Darren it has been brilliant, thank you so much!! Look forward to seeing you (hopefully) and your products on Qvc 16Th Oct! Take Care and have a fun airport run xx

Sharon Harvay Thank you everyone xx

Jill Dowding-Walker Thank you Darren and Sharon - a really interesting discussion. Can't wait to see this on air again!

Sharon Harvay was fab xx

Bruce Hymanson When you think about any activity, ie. playing a musical instrument, or driving a car or cooking your favorite meal. There is a proper way to do the activity. Bodyblade is a learned skill. Making sure you exhibit good technique will enhance the overall experience and pleasure you get from the exercises.

Shirley Hall Hi Bruce. Great you are back. I had keyhole surgery 3 weeks ago to remove my ovaries. I haven't exercised other than walking in that time. I'm keen to get back to my BB and will check with the doctor first on Friday but what BB exercises do you think I am best to start with as I want to get back to it gently?

Bruce Hymanson Louise, warming up is not to be assumed as a stretching routine but, rather a mobility exercise to help the joints be ready for action. You most definately can use those exercises as a warm up routine.

Bruce Hymanson So, in addition to technique, motivation is pretty important too. You don't have to be jumping up and down every moment of the day but, the commitment to the effort is where you excel. Just one day at a time. That's the goal. Not I gotta do 20 workout this week!!

Bruce Hymanson Maria-Remember to relax your shoulders when you exercise and make sure you keep a very light grip. Believe it or not, those two things will dramatically help relax the neck muscles. Another consideration is to make sure you retract your head rather than stick it out. Does that make sense? The more forward your head, the more it weighs to the rest of the body and the more stress to the muscle

7) Feeling more comfortable in my clothes - maybe this should be top of the list but I didn't want to sound shallow!

RIP Wayne Dyer – my favourite self-help speaker. Big News – Webchats on Q Page – the line up is out! Webchat Q&A this week from Leigh, Tarte Cosmetics and Bruce Bodyblade. AND which big brand has joined my Medical Detection Dogs fundraising team?

Oh I was soooo sad this week to hear of the passing of one of life’s great men – Wayne Dyer, erstwhile QVC guest, self-help guru and genius writer, who died at the weekend. Such a shame – for all concerned but he leaves such an amazing legacy. I list a couple of my favourite books of his below. If you’ve never heard of him do read this lovely tribute on MindBodyGreen – go here.

For anyone in the wellness world, Wayne Dyer was a legend for his ambition and inspiration. As he once said, "There is no scarcity of opportunity to make a living at what you love; there's only scarcity of resolve to make it happen." (The Power Of Intention).

He backed up his positivity with book sales that made publishers take the self-help category seriously (his first book Your Erroneous Zones sold over 35 million copies), and a career that lasted for four decades.

When I went through my own difficult transition time, when I left QVC, got divorced, changed jobs several times, learned freedom eating and rediscovered myself, his teachings inspired me more than anything else. Here are a few of the sayings he gave me, which also played a role with my own children. My son Brad even made a seminal piece of artwork for his A Level featuring some of his sayings.

‘Give up your need to be right.’

‘Be independent of the good and bad opinion of others.’

‘You’ll see it when you believe it … whatever you believe will be true for you.’

‘Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right.’

‘what you focus on expands… you’ll just get more of it, including something you don’t want, if all you do is keep putting your attention on it.’

‘Don’t die with your music still in you.’

‘You’re not a human being having a spiritual experience, you’re a spiritual being having a human experience.’

‘Everything in the world is as it is meant to be… and so is your desire to change it.’

‘In relationships, if you have the choice to be right or to be kind, pick kind.’

If you wake every morning at 4am, ‘don’t go back to sleep, the morning breeze has secrets to tell,’

And if someone is constantly critical of you and your choices – ‘when I made this decision I didn’t have you in mind.’ (!!)

Or if they still keep on –  ‘you’ll get over it.’! Hah!

Here are ten more.

I loved his story about being a ‘Scurvy Elephant’ – google it.

Wayne Video – the power of contemplation and talking about his childhood here  and if you’ve never seen his work before, here’s one of my favourites -  I love this old one, ‘how to get what you really really really really want’ how to get what you really really really really want’ – watch it here.

And a more recent one is here – your reality is created by your thoughts.

Also - On his website right now, a chance to see his movie The Shift – “Wayne loved this film and wanted as many people as possible to see it and get the benefits of learning to go from Ambition to Meaning in their life. In memory of Wayne, we are offering all of you the opportunity to watch The Shift for FREE for the next 7 days. Here is the link http://bit.ly/1MZ0ijj

Pic of serena and wayne

What if he was your dad? What must it have been like to be in his family? Serena Dyer, one of his 8 children, tells more about it, and made me wonder what my life would have been like had I had this influence earlier. And whilst I had my own version of him – a mini version in my father (who died aged just 52 in 1992 but always listened to my grand ideas) – I have at least tried my hardest to pass on to my own children a few of the messages and powerful beliefs that his work gifted to me, at an important time in their lives. Go here to see what Serena says and to find out more about his amazing beliefs. I just wish they taught it in schools. And I just wish every parent would have that type of belief in their own children, especially before the age of seven (listen to ‘the Biology of Belief’ to find out why that age.)

His Work I would love to recommend his work to anyone who has difficulty coping with their stage of life, or with hardships, depression, loneliness etc. He’s amazing, and his work will live on forever.

Go here to see his books on Amazon – including Manifesting Your Destiny, Real Magic, Excuses Begone, and a good one to begin with – the Power of Intention, Change the Way you Look at Things and the Things you Look at will Change. More here.

I had the amazing experience of being able to say hi to him and get a little video done when I was at QVC and he was selling Excuses Begone, a CD and book set, in autumn 2009. And saw him at I Can Do It in London in 2012 with Craigy and my son Brad. So glad I did. And even though Goody and I will now not see him on Oct 1st in London, I will have some very precious memories of one of life’s greats. RIP Wayne Dyer, 1940 – 2015.

Charlie Bears’ Will Commits to Help me Raise Funds for my Charity MDD

Oh how happy I was this week when Will Morris, Charlie’s hubby from our collectable bears range, wanted to first find out more about my recent work becoming an ambassador for Medical Detection Dogs, and then told me he would be helping me by raising some funding for them. I want to get to £11,000 – the cost of training one puppy – by the end of one year, and we are already over £5,000. Will keep you informed! In the meantime, do go to eBay where you can help by bidding for some of the MDD fundraising auctions currently ongoing! Sign in and Try here.

LEIGH FROM TARTE COSMETICS LIVE WEBCHAT 31/8/2015

Sharon Harvay Hi Leigh, Welcome to Back To You Qvc, so lovely to have you join us for a live web chat. Many congratulations on your Wedding too!Tarte Cosmetics seem to have taken everyone by storm! What is it you love about the brand and why? Xx

Sara Mahmoud Hi leigh, I'm new to tarte I only have the last tsv and the collection of 3 lip glosses and i love every single item. Will we be getting another tsv before Christmas ? And will we get the new energy noire collection anytime soon? I can't wait to build up my tarte collection, they are fantastic products. Xx

Nia Timothy Hi Leigh, just got a question about the maracuja oil - will it do anything for oily skin with open pores? Thank you! Xx

Sharon Harvay Sara did you manage to see the shows these past few days? Some amazing items x

Sara Mahmoud I did Sharon Harvay there were some amazing products but I thought I'd wait for a next tsv. X

Aly Quick Hi Leigh. I am a Tarte addict! Amazing products. I have several of the Tarte eye shadow pallets. Can I dip a wet brush into the colours and use them as liner? Will it ruin them or will they dry back to powder. I did it with Bobbi Brown once and ruined my pallet. I don't want that to happen to my Tarte.

P's, you always look so amazing!

Debby Lisa Ross Hi Leigh, just wondering when will the 24 hour blusher with the brush be coming back into stock? I also have the Amazonian clay waterproof eyeliner and wondered how the Prismatic liner and Tartiest paint liner are different, Thanks, I love Tarte cosmetics xx

Deborah Platt I absolutely love Maracuja oil and find it fantastic for my oily but dehydrated skin! I also love the eye cream but it has disappeared from QVCUK, is it returning please? Also, when are we getting Tarteguard please (I have had a sample and it is perfect as a moisturiser)? I love Tarte products!

Dawn Robinson Hello Leigh , firstly your brushes are absolutely brilliant ! I have the Clay Foundation i love the coverage & it lasts all day too xx

Claire Evans Will we be getting anymore sets before Christmas please, think I have heard rumours about a holiday bumper set??? Sooooooo excited already x

Lorri Vick Congrats on your wedding Leigh. I have used tarte since it first came to qvc. Adore the foundations and maracuja oil. Will we be getting the new foundation that i have recently heard about. Sorry have forgotten its name!! Xx

Dawn Robinson What Tarte products did you use on your wedding day ? You looked flawless xx

Leigh Griffin Hi Sharon! Thank for for the sweet wedding wishes! I have been with the Tarte brand for 7 years working closely with our founder Maureen on developing the products we all love so much. I love our brand because we are conscious of the ingredients and do not use which is hugely important to me because I have very sensitive skin. Our products are not only good for you, but they're incredibly high performance. I love that I can put my makeup on in the morning and not have to touch it up at all throughout the day.

Leigh Griffin Hi Sara! We do have another TSV coming in October and we are working on bringing the energy noir palette to the UK! Hopefully in time for holiday!

Leigh Griffin Hi Nia! The maracuja oil is really amazing for all skin types. It balances oil production while hydrating so you'll actually find that you breakout less!! It will really change your skin in a way you've never seen before!

Leigh Griffin Hi Aly! You can absolutely use our shadows as liners! It's one of my favorite things to do with my makeup!!  It won't ruin them!

Cherish Thomas more foundation shades please.

Leigh Griffin Hi Debby!! The blushes will be back in stock for our October visit! The tarteist liner is a thinner, more liquid formula and the prismatic liner is a cream! Both have excellent wear time!xx

Leigh Griffin Hi Dawn!! I'm soo happy to hear that!!!  you!

Debbie Flint Have a fab chat Leigh! Lovely to see u at the awards! You looked amazing! Xx

Leigh Griffin Hi Claire!! Yes!!! We have so many amazing sets coming up for holiday! Lots of values and new shades!! You can basically do all holiday shopping for the ladies on your list!!! Xx

Dawn Robinson Thank you x

Leigh Griffin Hi Lorri!!! Thank you so much! You are so kind! YES! I'm so excited that we'll be bringing the new foundation to the UK in Spring 2016!! Xx

Cherish Thomas Leigh we need more colour shades please.

Claire Evans Thank you Leigh, that's fantastic, I can't wait, yay!!!!!!! Xxxxxxx

Helen Flook Hi Leigh! I absolutely love this range - please can we have more colours in the lip butters? My real favourite is plummy rose. The brushes are wonderful, it's all wonderful!

Lorri Vick Woo hoo!! Something to look forward to smile emoticon xx

Cherish Thomas for foundation which will cover all ethnicities

Leigh Griffin Hi Cherish! I will absolutely work on bringing more shades!! Xx

Dawn Robinson My daughter has the eyeshadow pallett on her Christmas list x

Cherish Thomas Thank you. What a beautiful couple you make, had a sneeky look at your pics lol. Congrats!

Sharon Harvay Leigh you mention that the Cheek Tint was the first item created within the brand, did Maureen ever imagine Tarte would take off the way that it has? X

Deborah Platt Think you may have missed my questions Leigh, 5th from the start?

Sharon Harvay Please may i respectfully reminded all group members and participants not to friend request our Qvc Guests personal Facebook page( unless otherwise permitted ) These pages have either been set up to participate in the Monday evening live chats, or to Tag them into a post and may not be hosted or are personal, private, family accounts. You are welcome to Like and follow their company or Qvc pages, thank you x

Lorri Vick My Miracles of the Amazon set is being delivered tomorrow - happy happy! xx

Cherish Thomas i have tried foundation over the years but never liked the feel of it on my skin so rarely used the ones i invested in. However, i have now found a foundation (unfortunately not quite

Sharon Harvay what are your favourite Tarte products ladies?

Helen Flook Alll of it!!!!

Lorri Vick Liquid foundations, the prime stick and...............maracuja! xx

Leigh Griffin Hi Deborah! I am SO sorry!! The eye cream will be back!! Hopefully for the October visit! I completely agree re: the maracuja oil! We aren't planning to bring tarteguard until next spring unfortunately!  Xx, Leigh

Leigh Griffin Hi Sharon! Maureen's vision has always been to bring the best of high-performance naturals to women. She started the brand out of her one bedroom apartment in New York City with the cheekstain! She is thrilled that tartelettes all across the world are joining her mission to prove that glamour can be good for!

Deborah Platt And kind to animals Leigh, which is so important to me!

Sharon Harvay Isnt that just amazing!! How did she discover the amazing clay?

Deborah Platt Does Tarte plan to bring out more skincare to compliment the maracuja products?

Sharon Harvay Any hints on new product we can look forward to? x

Sharon Harvay it seems Leigh is having some connection issues, if you could make your perfect Tarte TSV, what would it be and why?

Yvonne Corser Next tsv?

Sharon Harvay October x

Deborah Platt Some skincare products, including maracuja oil would be lovely!

Leigh Griffin Hi Sharon! I've been working with Maureen on developing our products for years, so I've been able to create several of my dream products already! Xx

Claire Evans any clue to the next tsv please. sorry I'm over excited xx

Leigh Griffin Hi Claire! The next TSV will be in October! Xx

Claire Evans any sneaky clues as to what may be in it lol xxxx

BRUCE HYMANSON – BODYBLADE QVC WEBCHAT – Monday 31st August 2015

Bruce Hymanson

Good evening Bodyblade Ohana! Just one week from now, I will be in London and on QVC hopfully with some of you!! Tonight, I wanted to talk about plateau. What is it? Do you feel as though you are reaching a plateau and if so, what can we do about it. If you are doing great with your workouts, feeling the difference and noticing improvement in your looks and how you feel, please share with the group. I'll be back at 8 O'clock!

You, Anne Keating, Chris Jopp, Joanne Mitchell and 35 others like this.

Anne Keating Hi Bruce. How are you? You couldn't have asked a better question than do we think we've reached a plateau! This past fortnight I seem to have lost all my get up and go! And over the weekend I was picking up the Bpdyblade and putting it down without even using it. Not like me at all! Yesterday was better but do you feel that way ever? And should I just leave it or work through it? Although saying that, I really couldn't have. xx

Bruce Hymanson Hi to all. Anne, everyone plateaus during every exercise program. That may have different meaning for different people

Bruce Hymanson For a body builder, it may mean that no matter how hard they try, they can't get past a certain weight they are lifting. Not the case for us but we could reach a different plateau

Bruce Hymanson For us, as functional trainers, we can gain strength, endurance, muscle definition and a better performing body but after awhile, you get used to how well you feel and how good you look where is becomes the norm rather than something new and exciting

Bruce Hymanson Hi Sarah, yes, you can always vary your grip as you prefer. The lace grip is more often the easier grip for beginners but the top to bottom is a great grip. Actually more advanced!!

Denise Widdows Hi Bruce. I've been struggling to stay motivated and stick to some sort of schedule. I have a lot going on at the moment but so has everyone else so I can't use that as an excuse. Just lazy frown emoticon

Bruce Hymanson So, sometimes, you just have to change things up a little. Modify the workout substituting one exercise for another or add squats or lunges or more trunk rotation. Even a little choreopgraphy (step back, step side, step forward, etc) to make it more interesting at times. Perhaps, do a new workout every day you train by visiting you tube and doing a different workout each day (3 x wk) for that week.

Bruce Hymanson Exercise shouldn't be work but it is something that we must pay attention to like our hygiene or getting the right foods, brushing our teeth and maintaining a healthy routine. Nothing in life is free. Those things we earn are the most rewarding and valuable

Bruce Hymanson Hi Jacqui, Have you looked at all the instructional videos and posts regarding the Hip & Thigh? Remember, strength has nothing to do with matching the rhythm of the blade. Well.....not entirely. You need to have strength but the most important factor is "speed". Quickness and coordination are vital to mastering the H&TS.

Sarah Price I think thats the BB secret for me, it doesnt feel like exercise and its only 6 minutes , if Im having a rough day I stop several times on every exercise if its a better day I fly through them , Ive learned to listen to my body

Like · Reply · 1 · Yesterday at 20:19

Bruce Hymanson That's great Anne! Any small change can make the difference. New scenery, one new exercise, changing the order are all variables that can work for us. I always try to do more inside the same minute. For example, If I am doing a chest press, I might try to rotate left, center, right as many times as possible in the one minute. Never compromise technique or safety but it is fun to challenge yourself

Bruce Hymanson Floor exercises can be challenging so do them slowly and in segments. You can sit and try the Chest Press on the floor. Then progress to the ab crunch position, side lying (bottom leg bent knee, hip on floor), then progress from there. The toughest will be the plank. You can try the plank and leave your hips on the floor. Gradually, try to raise them up. As I say, very challenging the plank

Bruce Hymanson Hi Julie, welcome to our family. Best way to relax is to shrug your shoulders to know what tension is, then let them go. See and feel the difference. You can also watch in the mirror if that helps you to relax. It's something that you will adapt to and find yourself relaxing more. Watch the LEARN section of the DVD for more about the common driving errors.

Losing ten stone – Dawn’s story.

Dawn Allen-Homer is one of the most inspiring stories to come out of my Till the Fat Lady Slims group on Facebook, and this week she put up a post which made us all cheer – she’s just topped ten stone in weight lost. That’s – lost. Ten stone – lost. She’s literally half the person she was before and here is her story – the last stage helped by Freedom Eating, the system mentioned in my book, which gave rise to our lovely supportive Facebook group by the same name (links below.)

In April 2015, four months ago, Dawn had lost eight stone and she told me this –

“I think I've done a bit of everything from WW to cabbage soup, but of late I'm combining diet chef with freedom eating,so the last 2 stones or so of those r down to that & i hope the next 5/6 willI be too,”

How did Freedom Eating help her at that point?

“… im amazed that my body actually does talk to me, I've even craved salad, that's never happened before, so ttfls is playing a big part at mo, I'm like u - the deep sigh tells me when to stop. & I had a cream cake the other day & didn't beat myself up about it & go on to eat six of them, so thank u so much for ur book & knowing I'm not the only one whose life has been that way, & letting me know this new way of eating, I'm hugely grateful, u can mention me as much as u like, if it makes some1 else like me read ur book that's great, & again thanku so much x”

Today, on the bottom of the post pictured above, she said this –

“I can't say enough how much freedom eating has helped, the no more guilt is a really big one for me, not doing the, ‘sod it I've blown it let’s eat every bit of food in the house’ thing, the fact I now eat the best bit 1st on my plate, instead of leaving it till last, knowing that deep sigh is a sign I've had enough, for any of u newbies it really works, try it, the control I feel I have with food now is amazing xxxs”

Q1. Dawn what was the story of your weight gain and what made you finally able to start losing?
A1. I have always struggled with my weight, but I got really big after I had my children, having prolly cystic ovaries didn't help, as I can't eat as much as a normal person, so the before pictures are a result of thinking I could. I have been on a “diet” for ever, but started to try really hard in the last few years as my knees got really bad with the arthritis, it's been a bit up down up down, till this year when I read ur book.

Q2. What helped the first part of your journey and why did you stall?
A2. I went to weight watchers & lost a bit but started struggling when I lost my mum, dad, & brother, & as I comfort eat it started creeping on again

Q3. In April you wrote to me that you were now on Diet Chef and that Freedom Eating had really kicked in – how did it help? And what have you been doing for this final section?
A3. The diet chef is because I struggle in the kitchen to cook because I can't stand for any length of time, so the convenience of it, but the freedom eating is what has given me so much control, when I read your book I cried because it was like you were writing about me, the guilt of blowing a diet would make me eat everything in the house, & I really struggled with the clear my plate syndrome.i now eat the best bit 1st, so I don't mind stopping eating. Now if I really fancy something I have it, but I can now stop too, I have learned to listen to my body, only eat if I'm hungry,  when I take that deep breath I no it's time to stop, & I actually enjoy salad now.

Q4. Any benefits you’ve noticed being ten stone lighter, that are NSVs – non-scales victories as we call the on the Till the Fat Lady Slims Facebook group?
A4. So many, I don't want to hide away now, my hubby can pick me up, he's never been able to do that before, clothes are so much cheaper, people who haven't seen me for a while have to look twice before they realise it's me, honestly to many to list.

Q5. What advice would you give anyone with a lot to lose who thinks it’s too high a mountain?
A5. Don't look at it as a big mountain, look at it as little journeys, I only aimed for 7lbs at a time, or it's just looks impossible.

Q6. What has been the turning point for you, in knowing that this time you will keep it off?
A6. The control I have around food now, the lack of guilt if I have what was a forbidden food, it's really hard to explain just how different I feel, I just look at food so differently now.

Q7. How has the group helped?
A7. The group is awesome, it feels such a safe place, I would never of told strangers how much I weighed before, the ladies are so supportive, & you know they are all on the same path as you,& they understand when your having a rough patch, they are wonderful people.

Q8. Any particular favourite parts of the book Till the Fat Lady Slims 2.0 – the ‘When’ diet?
A8. Gosh that's hard, finding out I wasn't the only one with such guilt over putting any food in my mouth, learning that it's ok to have something if you really crave it, & learning that the sigh you do when your eating means it's your body saying, that's enough thanks,

Q9. What does the future hold for you?
A9. Freedom from being enslaved by food, new knees, peace in my heart & mind, it may sound corny, but so much happiness in myself
.
.

Dawn you’ve been brilliant and well done for reaching one of your goals – onwards and downwards as we say – but we all think you look fab already! Thanks for taking part!

BACK TO YOU LIVE WEB CHAT - Terri from Josie Maran -Monday 24th August 8-9pm TERRI BRYANT

Anne-Marie Mason I'm a Josie virgin, by the time this chat starts though that will have changed (tsv on way). Please bring the 'salt spray' hair product as I'm dying to try it. I keep asking guests this lately because I need all the help I can get, you come across as really calm with no cares in the world so I'd love to know how you switch off from everything and relax? x

Orla Buckley Can your products be used on teenager skin. What regiment should be used including exfoliating. Daily/weekly routine. Thanks x

Debbie Flint Fab question x

Anne-Marie Mason Can I also ask please, different ranges use products in different orders, if I need to use a moisturiser as well as the oil does your oil go on before or after please? x

Sylvia Jarvis Good question Anne-Marie Mason

I'm sure this is a common problem as the more products we buy, the more confusing it all becomes!

June Kelly-Bain Terry and Josie stunning xx

Dawn Robinson Hello gosh i can't tell you how much both my daughters love the whipped argan body butter ! Sophie my eldest bought the duo and gave the other to her sister xx

Sharon Harvay Hi Terri! Welcome to our Back To You Qvc group! It's so lovely to have you here! So many of us are thoroughly enjoying the Josie Maran range so thank you for bringing it to us! Which product within the range could you not live without? X

Dawn Robinson Another favourite of my eldest is the argan glow tan ! She loves it x

Debbie Flint Superb! Terri do feel free to reply in order of questions asked! And can I say you're one of the nicest guests I've ever worked with, and what a great range too! X

Terri Bryant Hello! Looking forward to chatting with you all

Janie Smith Ive not used this range before but do love argan oil. Do you do a product for hair that wont leave it limp and heavy please? X

Jan Thompson Hi terry I missed out on the last TSV as I think many did due to it's popularity, any chance you would be able to do something similar again soon I would love to try this range x

Terri Bryant Hi Anne-Marie! I travel quite a bit so home is my sanctuary. We live on a lake in Florida. Something magically soothing for me being on the water….also, my husband, dogs & a glass of wine on the patio go a long way to erasing the stressors of life. smile emoticon At the end of the day my best advice is to surround yourself with people who are supportive & share a positive energy

Terri Bryant Hi Orla! JMC is great for teens. A simple routine of cleansing, nourishing & protecting the skin. For daytime I would recommend Cleansing Oil & Argan Daily Moisturizer with SPF 47. In the evening I would recommend Cleansing Oil & Argan Oil Light (you can replace the cleansing oil with our gentle exfoliating powder 1 or 2x a week in the evening). Also great to consider Bear Naked Wipes for on the go or days when your teen (or any of us) are feeling a little too tired to cleanse wink emoticon

Terri Bryant Hi Sharon! So hard to choose just one product so I might cheat a little and choose 2 smile emoticon ……for skincare I live for my Argan Oil Light & Argan Milk. Powerhouse duo for sure!!

Sharon Harvay oooh fabulous choice!!!! x

Sharon Harvay Terri I soooo love the Coconut watercolour eye shadows! It's great how you can choose any depth of colour with the product. It last soooo long on the eyes! Love it x

Andie Stephany Hi Terri - are we going to get the wonderful tinted Argan Oil? My supply from USA is just about finished

Terri Bryant Hi Anne-Marie. You can absolutely use Argan Oil with your moisturizer if you would like to. Best bet is to use your moisturizer first and then a pat Argan Oil on top…helps to lock in & strengthen your moisturizer while balancing & strengthening your skin's moisture barrier

Janie Smith Sounds like a fab idea Sharon x

Terri Bryant Hi Janie. We do have a hair serum that is great for both treating & styling the hair but my personal little secret is that I find our Argan Oil Light is fantastic for smoothing, conditioning my hair without weighing it down

Sharon Harvay Janie, the colours are stunning, you can either shake it and pat it on for a deeper colour in my top photo, or use a light wash, or as a eyeliner, this is the Rainforest Green and I love it x

Terri Bryant Hi Jan! So sorry you missed the TSV. I'll definitely work with Josie to get something to you as soon as possible. I'll be back 2, 6 & 7 Sept. I don't have a TSV but definitely some fun new goodies to try. xx

Dawn Robinson Love the eyeshadow its fabulous x

Terri Bryant Hi Dawn! So glad your daughters are loving the Body Butter & Self-Tanning Body Wash. Also super lovely that they share…not always an easy thing to do when it comes to our whipped Body Butter wink emoticon

Jan Thompson Thanks Terri, will look forward to your shows, I'm looking forward to trying the foundation soon x

Janie Smith Thank you Terri. I will try that out x

Andie Stephany How are Josie's gorgeous babies? They must be getting big now

Janie Smith Sorry another question! Does you mascara contain the oil and if so does that help to encourage growth? X

Sharon Harvay I love the Brightening face balm too, beautiful texture xx

Dawn Robinson Thank you Terri yes im guilty of of using it when there out ! While the cats away the mice will play...... xx

Janie Smith Sharon i will def be lookinv into those. 3 looks with 1 item. Way to go!

Orla Buckley I have ordered most of your products and tsv, cant wait to try when they arrive. Love to see more products in the future. X

Janie Smith Dont feel guilty Dawn. As if they never use our stuff!!!!!

Shona Robertson My foundation bottle was broken at the top so sadly have had to return to qvc.

Sharon Harvay Janie The purple on your eyes would be stunning!!! Its a 3 set but did sell out x will keep an eye out for you xx

Dawn Robinson That's made me giggle Janie xx

Janie Smith Thank you . I adore purple shades xxxx

Terri Bryant Forgot to mention the Infinity Cream!….a great multi-tasker not only for skincare needs but also designed to turn powder makeup into creams with this product

Janie Smith Dawn i had a very expensive hair mask. Went to use it and husband had finished it as he thought it was the family hair conditioner! Nooooooo

Dawn Robinson My daughter said she would love a body mist (spray) with the fragrance of the body butter x

Janie Smith That sounds clever

Sharon Harvay OOOOHHHHHHH Terri Bryant That sounds amazing, very clever x

Terri Bryant Would love to know of any fun ways you've all found to use your Infinity Cream. We say, "One creamy oil with infinite uses". We've found quite a lot but I'm sure we're missing some wink emoticon xx

Orla Buckley Will we see the new Argan cream moisturiser soon ? I thought i heard them talking about it on qvc us

Sharon Harvay Terri for those that may not have heard before, what was it that Made gorgeous Josie decide to create a beauty range from Argan Oil? x

Aisha London Hi Terri, I was wondering how can you tell if you have a real or fake argan oil I know Josie is real because qvc stocks it. I have seen so many bottles of it having a moroccan husband and always going over there. I just couldn't tell the difference. Please let me know how to be argan savvy its like wine.

Aisha London p.s the tsv is fantastic I've sorted my runny foundation the kit is lush thanks.

Terri Bryant Hi Orla, the cream moisturizer is definitely something we'll look into. We do have a new treatment product coming in Sept. that's truly amazing for dry or under-nourished skin.

Sharon Harvay OOOh that sounds fantastic Terri!! x

Terri Bryant Hey Sharon, Years ago when Josie & I worked together back stage we used all these luxury brand products that made her look great in a photo or walking down the runway but really wreaked havoc on her skin. She wanted to find a way to combine the idea o...See More

Anne-Marie Mason Thanks Terri, I've just put my new oil on now. Oh I just want to get on a plane now and come to yours, it sounds like a real little haven! x

Sharon Harvay me too!!! What a fantastic story! x

Terri Bryant Great question Aisha! A few things to look for when it comes to the quality of your Argan Oil. Want to look for a brown glass bottle to protect the integrity of the oil. Smell the oil. If it has an odor it most likely has had heat applied which burns away all the good stuff (essential fatty acids). Look at the packaging. You want it to be the only ingredient listed as well as should read "Organic & first cold pressed". Sometimes they read as just "cold pressed" but you want the 1st cold press. Anything beyond first is diluted. We also work with the women's co-ops in Morocco to ensure fair trade. Sorry to ramble on here…can't help myself…..really great question smile emoticon

Sharon Harvay Fantastic Aisha, thank you Terri, its really good to know x

Terri Bryant So glad you're loving the TSV Aisha. I was super excited to bring it over and am just thrilled people are enjoying it! xx

Julie Kaye How do we use the highlighter balm in tsv

Any tips please?

Debbie Flint I must say I love the argon milk, being quite new to the range I'm very impressed. Tell us why it works differently from the normal oil, again? X

Anne-Marie Mason Ooh Dawn, there is a spray on their own site, I can't think right now if it's for face or body but hopefully we'll be able to try that soon. x

Aisha London Thank you Terri your not rambling on. I have seen so may so called argan oils in the markets selling in see through bottles so cheap and its such a precious oil you just want to know you have the real deal . I do love it when its nutty in salad . I get so excited about this oil just wish I could sniff it out like a vintage wine

Dawn Robinson That would be fantastic Anne thank you xx

Terri Bryant Hi Julie! I love sweeping the balm on top of the cheek bones, just over the brow, on the eyelids or just a pop on the inner corner of the eye, along the collar bone. It brings a lot of lift & light to the skin. Another great way to wear the illuminizing balm is after your skincare, use it over the entire face as a primer, then follow with either a little concealer or light powder or even a little light foundation where needed.

Natalie Hollern Do you need to use a primer under the eye shaddow from the tsv pallete or the coconut watercolour eyeshadows? X

Terri Bryant Hi Debbie! So glad you're loving the Milk. I know I am a bit biased but I think it's the most amazing anti-aging skincare!! It's actually micro-droplets of Argan Oil suspended in purified water to deliver everything your skin needs to be juicy, plump & youthful deep into the skin. To have a serum do this without an emulsifier as well is unheard of. The ingredients are SO pure yet the technology is quite remarkable. xx

Terri Bryant Thanks Aisha. I'm totally with you smile emoticon

Sharon Harvay what can we look forward to in the September shows Terri?

Terri Bryant Hi Natalie! No need at all for a primer under the eyeshadows. Especially the coconut watercolor eyeshadow…it's been tested for 14 hour wear & 14 hour hydration! xx

Terri Bryant Hi Sharon, we're still playing with assortment but I'm pretty sure we're going to see new lipstick colors, new infinity lip & cheek colors & a deep treatment cleanser amongst others. xx

Sharon Harvay ooooooh la! la! Cannot wait x

Terri Bryant oh…and could be a new shadow palette too!

Debbie Brown Hi Terri Do you know when we will have new stocks if the foundation? I missed out on the TSV and have been desperate to try the matchmaker serum. Thanks for bringing such an amazing range to us all. I adore the whipped body butter xxx

Anne-Marie Mason and the salt spray, pretty please? x

Terri Bryant Hi Debbie! So sorry you missed out on the TSV. I'm hoping we get the foundation back in September but can keep you all posted when I know more. I'm definitely on that one…It's too good to go without it smile emoticon Love that you're loving the Body Butter…isn't it divine?!

BRUCE BODYBLADE WEBCHAT – Monday 24th August – self esteem

Hello Bodyblade Ohana!! I've literally just returned from a week in Australia where I appeared on their shopping channel. I'm back home and looking forward to our chat this evening. So much to catch up on too. Let's talk about self esteem tonight. It seems that over 60% of the population doesn't have great self esteem. Why is that? What can we do to change that and how important is exercise to help in that process

Bruce Hymanson Hi Jacqueline, it's great adding body movement. Not only do you burn more calories but you maintain better flexibility, mobility and improve all aspects of body awareness, balance and coordination

Anne Keating From my point of view, if I look after myself by exercising and eating properly, my self esteem goes sky high. But if I don't, I know I easily become depressed. Difficult to do something about it when you are in that state though! xx

Bruce Hymanson Exercise and self esteem go hand in hand don't they? I see it everyday and experience myself how I feel if I don't get adequate exercise. So many people could raise their self image by devoting just a few minutes a day to themselves. Take a walk, stretch, pick up your Bodyblade but remember yourself somewhere along the schedule everyday.

Mary-Jane Rossetter Ah, self esteem can be so fragile - I was congratulating myself on getting my BB out for 3-4 times a week for the past 2 months - then a friend posted s photo with me in it on FB. Oh dear, I had hoped I looked fitter than that

Bruce Hymanson When I was in Australia last week, I visited the Opera House and the beautiful park around the property. I took my blades with me and meet a lot of people willing to try the workout. We had a ball with people who were walking on their lunch hour or part of a major workout. I wish you could all have been with me because we could have shown them how great you are!!!

Howard Carless Evening Bruce. I'm 76, have rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune conditions and have severe weight loss. Have been using BB for about a month, can do the super six at least once a day. Have managed to put a bit weight back on over the last couple of weeks. My self esteem has improved by doing the super six but mainly by seeing the muscle development in the arms and legs and the reduction in pain. Thank you for your help. I intend to expand the exercise but do not want to loose any weight.

Tracey Cox No problems with self-esteem really, but I do know that I feel better all round when I'm getting regular exercise. Just 2 weeks and 3 days with my Bodyblade and I feel stronger and just better generally. Everything I do seems easier somehow.

Published in Back to You

An interesting topic of conversation came up this week with a lovely lady whom I will call Ros, who private messaged (PM) me on Facebook with a typical problem I’ve been asked about before. This is what she wrote –

“Dear Debbie. Hope you dont mind messaging you. But I feel you are living in similar circumstances to me.... Single mum, live alone, kids away (mine at uni 23 & 19). You always seem so happy , content, bubbly n full of life. While I'm so unhappy, lonely n feel my life is empty. I work fulltime but feel I only live to work! Any advice or words of wisdom hun. Sorry to disturb n bother you.  x. Your new home looks so lovely”

It really disturbed me that someone should seemingly feel so unworthy and alone, and I really felt for the lady. For those who don’t know, I had a similar era in my own life including being treated for depression for 6 months in the mid 2000s. This was my reply, and it’s a good one for anyone else in the same boat –

Bless you Ros,  you have to get to learn to love you. There are lots of self help books that really helped me get comfortable with life and whilst we often look for others to fill a gap or fill the time, it's best we fill it up with ourselves. I'd suggest getting into a guy called Wayne Dyer, he has many many books and audiobooks that I love so do feel free to try those and come back and let me know what you think. Also join our groups if you haven't already, back to you QVC, I'm a QVC UK Queen, Bodyblade QVC, till the fat lady slims etc- , lots of other people in a similar situation who all like to chat and support each other, it's a great network. Don't be sad - time to get on with your life and change your expectations I would say. Also a really important thing is don't eat any crap, it makes me depressed if I do. And also exercise every day even if you just march on the spot for five minutes or dance around for five minutes or do one minute on the Bodyblade it makes such a difference big hugs x

To that I would also add cut right back on sugar. A ‘treat’ which spikes your hormones and fouls up your body’s inate delicate mechanism used to keep it in balance is not a ‘treat’ but a punishment. Here’s why – click here.

Ros is now well on her way – she tells me she has joined the groups (not her name) and has begun exercise. I do hope it helps. The most important thing to do is to stand guard at the door of your mind as it’s the most dangerous thing in your life, if you find yourself sad at being alone. I’m never lonely now, even when I’m alone. I might need to get out more, but not till I’ve enjoyed my new home for a few nights in! lol.

BACK TO YOU LIVE WEB CHAT A'KIN-Monday 17th August 8-9pm LISA MCARTHY

As pioneers of natural skin and hair care products that genuinely work, [A'kin] continue to be driven by their founding principles, including a passion for pure, natural and effective ingredients and a genuine concern about ingredient safety in personal care products. This philosophy is known as “The Power Of Purity" – the power of combining pure and natural ingredients. Please post your questions to Lisa McCarthy here! — with Lisa McCarthy.

Dawn Robinson Brill looking forward to it xx

Lisa McCarthy Can't wait ! Please can you share the link to the latest blog piece you have written about our New Eye Cream?

Lisa McCarthy Looking forward to talking to you this evening! I have some great photos to show you of people testing out the Purely Revitalising Lifting Eye Cream with Incredible results on real people! And i can't wait to tell you all about it's amazing pure ingredients and what they can do for you!

Dawn Robinson Hello Lisa , I really like the sound of the Rosehip Oil , My one daughter has very sensitive skin would this be suitable for her she's 22 ? xx

Dawn Robinson The packaging is beautiful too ive been looking at them on Sharon's blog xx

Lisa McCarthy HI Dawn Robinson & Sharon Harvay, great to be here, thank you so much for having me. Such as great question Dawn thank you we like the red boxes too and Sharon's blog is fantastic, I love the photos! [A'kin] Pure Radiance Rosehip Oil is suitable for all skin type especially and skin of all ages. It helps to desensitise sensitive skin in particular and protect from external pollutants to calm and soothe skin. Cleanse the skin so its slightly damp and take two drops to start in the palm of your hands, then press this in to your skin and follow with your moisturiser. You can use this day and night. This will ale help strengthen her skin so it feels so much more comfortable. The {A'kin] Pure Radiance Rosehip Oil is really concentrated so you only need a small amount. It's perfect for this time of year too as the sun can activate lots of allergens in the air that can make our skin extra senstive. xx

Sharon Harvay Hi Lisa, Thank you so much for joining us this evening. It is such a pleasure to welcome you back! So looking forward to you telling everyone about your beautiful range and the new Lifting Eye Crème which is fabulous!! Thank you for the blog compliment!! Its easy when the products are as wonderful as yours x

Dawn Robinson Thank you so much Lisa, could you use a small amount on the elbows & heels ? Xx

Sharon Harvay From Debbie Flint : Debbie Flint hi all ! I'd like to welcome Lisa from A'kin to our group and ask a few things to kick it off! Firstly, tell everyone who doesnt know, what are the real USPs for your brand hon? why buy A'kin? Secondly why is it called A'kin? And what are the true iconic products from the range and what do people say about them? x

Lisa McCarthy Thank you Sharon it's pleasure to be here. The Purely Revitalising Lifting Eye cream in the blog was created from all of our customer feedback- Its a real challenge due the structure of the skin around the eye is so complex due to the movement of this skin and the fact there is no support for the skin around the eyes so to develop an eye treatment that meets the needs of all our customers feedback… who are concern with Fine lines- just starting to see lines appear and want to take action,Deep Wrinkle/Crows feet- deep lines heading towards the hairline-genetics Uneven tone- pigmentation from over exposure to the sun Dryness- the skin feels tight and two sizes too small, Sensitive eyes- Prefer Fragrance free, Contact Lens wearers Dull- micro circulation congested, eye are lacking radiance Dehydrated- people staring at computers screens all day, Crepey eyes longing to feel smoother and fresher Make up sinking in to the skin not smooth. Tired eyes- long days, Shift work just the day job, New baby Quickly absorbing -we are all so busy! Treatment for no make up days It’s so important to get it right!!!

Dawn Robinson I like the sound of that "" treatment for no makeup days "" x

Sharon Harvay Perfect for everyone!!! Lisa, was it long in the making? x

Lisa McCarthy A'kin is an Australian Brand and have been creating pure natural products for over 15 years!

Lisa McCarthy A'kin are known for their power of purity creating gentle products that are so effective and incredibly gentle on the skin

Lisa McCarthy Yes, the product was three years in the making! Most products have to be tested for at at least three months we took three years to get this right and results are incredible!

Sharon Harvay I have mine here and the texture is stunning x

Lisa McCarthy The name [A'kin] means likeness as in a likeness to nature. We carefully select effect ingredients that can mimic actions in the skin and deliver better results than that from formulated man made ingredients.

Dawn Robinson My husband suffers with psoriasis would this help if he tried it x

Sharon Harvay Jill Dowding-Walker am I right in thinking you are also a fan of the Rosehip oil? x

Sharon Harvay Jo Brown was this range one you were thinking about too? x

Lisa McCarthy For example the Purely Revitalising Eye has the most amazing plumping action on wrinkles and leave the skin silky smooth- this is because we use Echium oil which is natures resurfacing oil it will plump up wrinkles in seconds and avocado oil to protected and weather proof the skin , no fillers required!

Debbie Flint HI :Lisa - am with miceal! he says he loves the rosehip oil!

Sharon Harvay oooohhhhhh can I have a bucket load for my body please? I have to say, I took it away with me last week and as exhausting as my holiday was (activity led) my eyes always looked fresh, and awake.

Sharon Harvay Hi Debbie!! Hi Miceal x

Lisa McCarthy All you need is the size of a grain of rice apply with your ring finger and smooth this all around the eye area. Also put any traces left on your lip line and that area in-between your eye brows ( my favourite trick)

Debbie Flint he says it helps with combination, reactive, sensitive skin, all of which he has! He says hi! x

Lisa McCarthy HI Miceal! great to hear your loving the rosehip oil! Its perfect for a combination skin as it helps purify the skin. the oil will penetrate to the lower layers of the skin within three hours and start to detoxify and strengthen the cells its all the omega fatty acids also great for reducing inflammation which is why its perfect for sensitive skin xx

Dawn Robinson Gosh this would be fabulous in a body butter with all those beautiful natural ingredients xx

Sharon Harvay Fantastic, I truly love that oil, I love the colour, the earthy smell, the slip. Its great after being in the sun and also on slackened skin I have found x

Lisa McCarthy The other great thing about the the Purely Revitalising Eye Cream is using it as a mask. Put about a pea size amount on this time and leave for 10 minutes to smooth soothe and brighten the eye area!

Jo Brown Sharon I'm always adding to my wish list! I'd heard of A'kin from my travels and links to Australia, but not tried it yet, but it's even mentioned on my go to cruelty free beauty pages for having an entirely vegan range. Look forward to trying some products in the future

Debbie Flint Me and miceal say hi ! Enjoy the chat! I'm off to meet simon wilson (that's the top i'm wearing!) for the 9pm show! Hugs to all! X

Debbie Flint Final question- lisa, tell us about your background how you got into beauty and why you chose to work with skincare? X

Sharon Harvay Yes!! I remembered something Jo smile emoticon very kind to animals x

Dawn Robinson Hello Debbie & Miceal x

Sharon Harvay Lisa as a mask would I take it over the eyelid too? Excuse my make up free eye!

Jo Brown seriously I could've tested it to the max....over worked vegan nurse lol, even the bus driver told me how tired I looked when I got on!

Lisa McCarthy The Echium Oil is one of A'kins most powerful ingredients, it turbo charges smoothness in the skin and is clinically proven to be as effective as synthetic retinol A. Its natures resurfacer and is also in the cellular radiance serum.

Dawn Robinson It looks lovely & light Sharon x

Jill Dowding-Walker Yes, I love A'kin products, especially rosehip oil. It can be mixed into any natural base cream, oil or lotion to supercharge it Dawn! I have very fair, sensitive, easily irritated, allergy-prone skin. Currently covered in a rash from who knows what or where or why! After my shower tonight I will be treating it with the rosehip oil to strengthen and protect those easily upset skin cells! x

Lisa McCarthy Sharon Harvay you could try it on the eye lid sounds great suggestion, i love that fact it can open the eye area surround the eyes so it makes your features look brighter and bigger!

Helen Murphy This would be a new range for me. Could you tell me the best place to start please? Am 46 and have combination skin.

Jill Dowding-Walker I love the unscented range of A'kin products - my secret weapon when everything else stings or hurts my skin! x

Dawn Robinson Thank you so much Jill x

Lisa McCarthy Jo Brown thank you-yes we are endorsed by the vegan society and vegetarian society in Australia. We also won the green parent award for best facial oil for the rosehip oil x

Sharon Harvay Yes!! Dawn it is so light, in this photo I have used a little extra as Lisa just suggested so am sitting here in my dimly lit room, relaxing with it as an eye mask. It is so cooling on my eyes which are tired today, it does not feel greasy or heavy. It just sinks in and leaves my eyes open and soft and lovely.... will take a photo now hang on x

Helen Murphy That's is superb Lisa. My daughter has sensitive skin so Jill Dowding-Walker the rose hip oil sounds good for her.

Jo Brown That's great Lisa, I follow other brands to see what trends are but my preference is always to support those that are entirely vegan and cruelty free. Plus I'm 40 next year so any excuse for stocking up on some new beauty treats

Lisa McCarthy Debbie Flint I got in to beauty when i was 19 years old i had the most awful skin, I started to discover how natural ingredients were more compatible with skin. I realised i reacted to everything and my skin would go in cycle of flaring up flaking, going oily and break outs! I then discovered oil and that was it i love results and knew that i could make a difference to other people.

Jacqueline Jackson Good evening Lisa I've been using the rosehip oil and the lavender and rose night cream and they are both lovely. I read about them on Sharon's beauty blog and decided to give them a try and I'm really happy I did. I haven't tried the eye cream yet that will be my next purchase I think. I wanted to use something natural as I eat organically and so thought I should try using less chemicals in my skincare too. X

Sharon Harvay Sinks in beautifully x

Lisa McCarthy As technology and research has moved on we are are getting closer to nature than ever before. A'kins products are so pure it is as if we creating recipes from natures garden, effective but gentle a skin respecting cocktail of ingredients with abidance of nourishment for the skin, omega fatty acids ( rosehip oil) antioxidants such as Camu Camu soooo powerful!!

Helen Murphy Would be fantastic to have a try me kit on QVC rose and lavender night cream sounds amazing

Nayna Patel Is this range good for hyperpigmentation and sunken eyes with dark circles please.

Lisa McCarthy Ok let me tell you about camu camu it is 30 times more powerful than bits c from an orange 4 x more powerful than goji berry and x as powerful as blackcurrent this amazing ingredient is the brightening element in th purely revitalising Lifting eye cream it evens out pigmentation in the eye are and creates a luminous radiance!!

Sharon Harvay Thank you for the compliment Jacqueline Jackson smile emoticon

Sharon Harvay Dawn I will repost photos tomorrow during the day so you can see how amazingly bright it makes the eyes look as lisa is stating xx

Lisa McCarthy Dawn Robinson Hi you could try a little rose hip on your husband its not a pharmaceutical product however may help to reduce and smooth the skin- please do let know the results x

Sharon Harvay When are you back on Qvc Lisa and what products are you bringing? x

Jacqueline Jackson Are there any body products? Would love some x

Jo Brown I'm inherently lazy with body care, I'm a fan of oils for hair, face and body, but basically if I can spray it on me and get dressed straight away I'm happy!

Nayna Patel Thanks Lisa camu camu....come to me need you in my life. Such a great name lol xx

Lisa McCarthy Yes Sharon Harvay i would recommend Rosehip for areas of skin that need repair, the rosehip oil has a low melting point so absorbs in to the skin quicker tha, coconut, or argan oil which is why its so effective. It get deeper in the skin with its richcontration of healing omega fatty acids and starts to repair the skin right from where the cell develop so that they are stronger.

Jill Dowding-Walker Jacqueline - their body washes, body moisturisers, shampoos, conditioners and hand care items are lovely! Hope QVC will do more of these!

Sharon Harvay And the Face mask!! I love the face mask x

Helen Murphy Sounds like we need more products on QVC

Jacqueline Jackson Thank you Jill will definitely check those out x

Lisa McCarthy Jo Brown You can use rosehip oil from your scalp, hair face body down to your toes. And ladies must tell you if you have over exposed your decollate area this summer spread the rosehip oil all over to help smooth and repair. And if your feeling continental take it over the bust area too!

Jacqueline Jackson Lol how big is your bathroom Sharon? lol x

Sharon Harvay ooohhhh la la!

Jill Dowding-Walker Mais oui, zut alors!!!

Sharon Harvay hahahaha

Jo Brown Thank you Lisa

BRUCE BODYBLADE WEBCHAT

Bruce Hymanson

17 August at 20:07

Hello Bodyblade Ohana! I hoped to check in an hour ago as I usually try to do but another travel day has me jumping around like a wildman. Only a few more weeks until I visit the U.K. and shows to be Sept 7/8. Today, I thought we could talk about the things you most want to do. When you are not in the best shape, you say to yourself, "I wish"....... so I could walk more or hike etc. I spent the weekend with friends and tried wake boarding for the first time. I try to stay in shape but I feel my muscles today!!! That's a good thing. How about you?

I would love to do that again so for those who are interested, please let me know. I know Debbie Flint would love to do another show like last time. We all had so much fun together!!

Bruce Hymanson Hi Tracie, I will try to find out what the delay is for the DVD. The come from Taiwan so it's a slow boat across the ocean. I will speak to my buyer to find out if the DVDs are in inventory so we can get them up on the QVC site. I thought it would have been weeks ago. Stay tuned. As for the bags, no progress for now. Sometimes a small project can take 90 days to get up and running, then samples, testing and approval. I'll keep you all informed on that. Thanks for asking.

Jacqueline Jackson Hi Bruce is there a limit to what muscles can achieve for example if you use the Bodyblade three or four times a week is there a point where you are just maintaining what you have got the muscles to do or are they always building and improving? Hope that makes sense.

Mirka Marri Hi Bruce, I hope you are well. I have noticed that the BB has really helped with my rotator cuff injury, I now have a good range of movement and feel much stronger! Thank you smile emoticon

Sara Brown Bruce, I had a bad virus recently and didn't do anything for about ten days. When I went back to super six I found it tough to get through. Was shocked at how quickly I'd gone backwards. By then found that the Hampton Court super six in the short quick rotation was the way to build myself back up. Thank you.

Michele Morris Hi Bruce Hymanson. There are two things I most wish for. First to try and get more balance between my left and right sides. Like many right handers my left side is weak. Secondly I have the good fortune to live in a rural area with lots of footpaths and nature reserves. However, I have a weakness in my right hip following a fall 15 years ago. I find I can't walk more than about 4 miles max without causing hip pain. So any tips to rebalance my body and build strength in my hip with BB please?

Bruce Hymanson Hey Sarah, good for you!!!! Practice, practice, practice is what makes us ALL improve. Great job!

Bruce Hymanson Hi Jacqueline, depending on how you train your body, you can plateau or maintain a certain level of fitness. To improve, it is important to challenge yourself to either increase "Flex Intensity" or time or both. You can also add more movement during your exercises to challenge the body even further. Here is an example. Suppose you do the Super 6 workout standing in one place. Take the Chest Press for example. Try stepping back into a lunge or add squats while you are doing the Chest Press. The more you do, the more your body gets in shape and the more you will have to challenge if you want to do even more. A great problem to have, right!!

17 August at 20:36 · Like · 3

Bruce Hymanson So, several questions and comments. Balance.....ALL Bodyblade exercises will help to improve balance throughout the body. There are many ways to increase the challenge by doing both right and left arm exercises to take that "not so coordinated side" and train to improve. The brain is simply trying to learn how to do a better job communicating with the muscles. You learn from doing.

Helen Murphy Just hopped on to say hello Bruce must confess lost my perma habit so need to get wobbling again

17 August at 20:41 · Like · 2

Bruce Hymanson Now, if you want to add new challenges to balance, you can stand by a chair, hold on, go to toe touch on one leg (or take it off the ground completely) while holding the back of the chair and drive the blade in a Jab position out to the side. Then, if you balance supports it, try doing without holding onto the chair. My personal favorite is to do a single leg stance doing the Hip & Thigh Sculptor and close the eyes!!! That's a great balance challenge. So start slow, hold onto the back of the chair, toe touch until you can stand on one limb and progress slow and easy. The good thing is all Bodyblade training will help dynamically improve your balance big time.

Bruce Hymanson Hi Maggie, Bodyblade is really a key in back stabilization. The muscle around the spine plays a vital role in back health. I can't tell you how often people come to me with hip pain and upon evaluation, it's not the hip but referred pain from the lumbar spine. Take control and watch yourself get better and better.

17 August at 20:52 · Like · 8

Jacqui Stephenson just a obversation ive noticed since starting to use my bodyblade that im standing much straighter and the pain from my degenerative disc isnt so intense ,.

17 August at 20:52 · Like · 6

Bruce Hymanson Jacqui, great news. Gravity is our enemy and the better our body is prepared to "fight" the effects of being pushed to the ground all the time, the less pain you feel, the less fatigue you feel, the more erect you stand and sit and the more your body loves it!!!

17 August at 20:54 · Like · 3

Helen Murphy Must admit Bruce even though I haven't been using BB still notice my posture is better and still getting compliments on how much better I look. Jacqui that is one of the great "side effects" of the BB I have a quieter week this week so going to fit in some wobbling.

17 August at 20:57 · Like · 3

Sara Brown Posture improvement was the first thing I noticed.

17 August at 20:58 · Like · 3

Bruce Hymanson being fit and functional is always a process. Your body is smart. The more you do, the better your body will respond. That's why perma-habits are so important. Your body knows that when you challenge it to do well, it will rise to the occasion. Even when you take time off from exercise, your body says, "maybe I should stay fit for awhile because they are going to start again and I want to be ready" The key is not to stop for too long because then you body says, Ok, they're on vacation and I don't have to do anything.
